Advertise on podcast: All Things DnD's Story Dungeon

A good backstory is the most powerful device in DND. This is why you take the time to write one. A great DM will weave your backstory into something this memorable when given the opportunity.  Also, quick thing, I’ve been working with my good friends at dScryb lately on some really exciting DnD-related stuff behind the scenes. I can’t wait to share more about those things with you! Before we take our leave, don’t forget to subscribe to our channel, All Things DnD. Stay tuned for more amazing Dungeons & Dragons content! What do you think? Is treating orcs like humans “woke”? Does removing biological essentialism harm the “fantasy” of the game?  Let me know what you think in the comments down below Before we take our leave, don’t forget to subscribe to our channel, All Things DnD. Somehow I’ve never heard of Monster of the Week and I absolutely want to play this game.  We should try to set something up, so if anyone wants to run this game leave a comment below and we can set something up.  It’s pretty tough trying to incorporate a moral dilemma when players don’t care about morality. Ultimately this is just a player, playing the wrong kind of game. Share your moral dilemmas that made your game or…broke your game in the comments down below!  Before we take our leave, don’t forget to subscribe to our channel, All Things DnD. Honestly, it is a happy ending. It’s easy to recognize when you aren’t having fun and try to figure out a way to make it better. The DM being stubborn and refusing to see how the changes to the games system would kill any enjoyment for playing a caster is wild. Who would enjoy taking a turn just to fail repeatedly? DND is about player agency and having a good time, the DM should be fudging rolls in the players favor not the other way around.  I know the game that she will DM will already be better having learned this valuable lesson already. Roleplay and unique characters are great, if that’s what the party dynamic is about. As funny and fun a Zukini could be in a game, it just needs to be the right game.  I want to hear about your unique characters in the comments below!  Before we take our leave, don’t forget to subscribe to our channel, All Things DnD. This story happened about 15 years ago when I and my group were all inexperienced and living together in university. We played all kinds of systems and settings and loved to play long-haul homebrews. At the point this story takes place we had already played many systems together and now wanted a go at the gothic noir Vampire the Masquerade setting with a 50/50 split of brutal combat and political backdealing. You might be asking yourself…what is the difference between a daemon and a demon.  Well, according to my research, The essential difference between a "daemon" and a "demon" is that a daemon is any spirit, good or bad, including the spirit of a living human, while a demon is exclusively a bad spirit. A daemon can also be controlled if you know the daemon’s name which according to other folklore is also applicable to demons. But hey, it's homebrew so I’m sure the DM in this case provided more background.  Still, what a hill to die on because of a miscommunication.  Have you ever had someone ruin a game of DND because they didn’t hear something correctly? So much to unpack here…I love the idea of a multi-level marketing bard with a bunch of schemes. Selling timeshares in the underdark or selling the most fashion forward leather leggings. Or “real” damascus steel knives…So many possibilities… Have you ever had a real life mary sue at your table? Tell me all about it in a comment down below!
