The Lordship of the Spirit | What I Have | Matt Brown
2026/09/21
Sunday September 20, 2026: What if we actually lived astonished by what is already true?
The Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us. Not around us. Not occasionally visiting us. We have become His dwelling place.
In this message, Pastor Matt continues The Lordship of the Spirit with an invitation to become conscious of that staggering reality—to live from union with Christ, aware of His presence, and amazed that the reigning King of glory has made His dwelling in us.
We aren’t trying to pray our way into something we lack or get somewhere we aren’t. We are in Christ. His Spirit is in us. And from that place, we learn to live, pray, and participate with Him.
The Lordship of the Spirit | Gifts are a Witness | Matt Brown
2026/09/21
Sunday September 13, 2026: The gifts of the Spirit were never meant to make us fascinated with gifted people. They are meant to reveal Jesus.
In this message, Pastor Matt continues The Lordship of the Spirit by walking through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, what Scripture says about their purpose and operation, and why we believe they are still active in the Church today. The gifts are not trophies, spiritual status symbols, or something to manufacture—they are manifestations of the Spirit given for the good of others.
We are called to pursue love, earnestly desire spiritual gifts, test everything, and remain completely available to the Holy Spirit. This isn’t about becoming “gifted people.” It’s about becoming available people through whom the risen Jesus can make His presence known.
Jesus is alive. Jesus is Lord. Jesus is present. And His Spirit is still being poured out upon His people.
The Lordship of the Spirit | Prayer in the Spirit | Matt Brown
2026/09/12
Sunday August 30th, 2026: In this teaching from The Lordship of the Spirit, Pastor Matt explores what Scripture means when it calls us to pray in the Spirit and the gift of a heavenly prayer language.
More than simply speaking in tongues, prayer in the Spirit is a sound born from union—the Spirit praying from within us to the Father, in the name of the Son. It is an invitation beyond the limitations of our understanding into participation with what God is authoring within us.
Prayer is not reaching toward a distant God. It flows from fellowship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Our heavenly language is the sound of union.
The Lordship of the Spirit| Romans 8 | Matt Brown
2026/09/01
Sunday August 16, 2026: In this teaching from The Lordship of the Spirit, Pastor Matt finishes walking through Romans 8 and the fruit that accompanies a life governed by the Holy Spirit.
Romans 8 gives us more than theology—it gives us a picture of what life looks like when the Spirit is Lord. Freedom from condemnation. Life and peace. Beloved identity. Freedom from fear. Intimacy with the Father. A life increasingly formed from within by the Spirit of God.
This isn’t about striving to become more spiritual. It’s about surrendering to the One who already lives within us and allowing His life to become evident through ours.
The fruit reveals the government.
The Lordship of the Spirit: Week 3 | A Life Governed || Matt Brown
2026/08/14
Sunday August 9th, 2026: What does it actually mean for the Holy Spirit to be Lord—not simply present in our lives, but the governing presence of our entire existence?
In this message, we trace the human desire for autonomy back to Eden and discover that the Kingdom offers a radically different kind of freedom. The first Adam reached for independence; Jesus revealed the surrendered life: “I can do nothing on My own.” True freedom is not the absence of lordship—it is life beneath the right Lord.
Then, beginning in Romans 8, we explore the first two realities of a Spirit-governed life: no condemnation and freedom. His light is safe. The Holy Spirit does not expose what is hidden in order to shame us; He exposes what He intends to liberate. And where the Spirit is Lord, surrender does not diminish our humanity—it restores it.
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” — 2 Corinthians 3:17
The Lordship of the Spirit: Week 2 - The Roving Bubble Where God Rules and Reigns || Matt Brown
2026/08/03
Sunday August 2, 2026: What if the greatest work of the Holy Spirit isn’t simply empowering us for ministry, but bringing every part of our lives under the joyful reign of King Jesus?
In Week Two of The Lordship of the Spirit, Pastor Matt explores what it means to live beneath Heaven’s government in the ordinary moments of life. Through the life of Jesus, this message reveals that true freedom is found not in self-rule, but in surrender to the loving lordship of Christ made real through Holy Spirit.
This teaching will challenge the way you think about dependence, anxiety, the Kingdom of God, and what it truly means to live by the Spirit. More than behavior modification, the Holy Spirit is restoring us to the life we were always created for—a life governed by the goodness of the Father and marked by righteousness, peace, and joy.
The Lordship of the Spirit: Week 1 - The Lord is the Spirit || Matt Brown
2026/08/01
Sunday July 26, 2026: What if the Holy Spirit is far more than the power of God to experience? What if He is the Lord to whom our lives are surrendered?
In the opening message of this new series, we begin where Jesus began—not with gifts, manifestations, or spiritual experiences, but with the Person of the Holy Spirit. Together we’ll rediscover the Spirit as the One who reveals Christ to us, forms Christ within us, and reveals Christ through us.
This message explores why Jesus could say it was to our advantage that He would leave, how the Spirit brings us from orphanhood into sonship, and why the greatest evidence of the Holy Spirit’s work is not merely power through our lives, but Christ formed within them.
Abba's Table (Pt. 6) Towels In The Hands of Image Bearers || Matt Brown
2026/07/21
Sunday July 19, 2026: The table was never the destination—it was always the beginning.
In the final message of the Abba’s Table series, we discover that beholding the Father always leads to becoming like Him. Jesus reveals the breathtaking truth that the Father loves us with the very same love He has for the Son, forever settling our place at His table.
From that place of belonging, Jesus shows us what true maturity looks like. Before He ever picked up a towel, He knew who He was, whose He was, where He came from, and where He was going. Because His identity was secure, He was free to get low. Secure sons don’t fight to be seen—they are free to kneel. They don’t protect their position—they reveal the Father’s nature through humility, honor, and sacrificial love.
This message is an invitation to stop negotiating your place in the Father’s house, receive the measure of His love, and become the kind of person who carries His heart into every relationship. Because belonging produces becoming, and becoming always looks like Jesus.
Abba's Table (Pt. 5) Safe to Be Honest || Matt Brown
2026/07/21
Sunday July 12, 2026: What if the safest place on earth isn’t a place without truth, but a family where truth never threatens belonging?
In this message, we explore Luke 15 through the lens of the Father’s heart, discovering that God has never used shame to produce what only love can form. Jesus reveals a Father who runs toward His children, interrupts shame, and establishes belonging before transformation. Because in the Kingdom, we don’t become so we can belong—we belong, and together we become. ABBA’s Table_Belonging produces Becoming.pdf
Abba's Table (Pt. 4): A People Formed by the Centrality of Jesus || Matt Brown
2026/07/06
Sunday July 5th, 2026: What kind of family are we becoming?
The early Church didn’t begin with programs, personalities, or strategies. It began with a people who devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching—to continually beholding Jesus.
In this message, we explore why the Church rises or falls on what it continually gives its attention to. As we behold Christ, we are transformed into His likeness. His nature becomes our nature. His responses become our reflexes. His love, mercy, patience, and peace begin to shape the way we live together.
A healthy church isn’t built by trying harder to act like Jesus. It’s formed by seeing Him more clearly. When Christ remains at the center, everything else finds its proper place.
This is a message about the Father’s table, the beauty of the apostolic witness, and becoming a family that reflects the One we gather around.
Abba's Table (Pt.3): The Family at the Table || Matt Brown
2026/06/30
Sunday June 28, 2026: What if the Church was never meant to be built around community—but around Christ?
In this teaching, we continue our Abba’s Table series by looking beyond programs, personalities, and even the pursuit of community itself. Acts 2 isn’t a blueprint for creating better church culture; it’s a portrait of what naturally happens when a people become captivated by the risen Jesus. Authentic family is not the goal—it is the fruit of Christ remaining at the center.
Together we’ll explore why the apostles’ teaching was relentlessly centered on Jesus, why biblical fellowship cannot be manufactured, and how generosity, unity, belonging, and love all flow from beholding the Lamb rather than striving to become a better community. When Jesus occupies the center of the table, everything else finds its proper place.
Abba's Table (Pt 2): The Son at the Table || Matt Brown
2026/06/22
Sunday June 7th, 2026: Before we can talk about family, honor, belonging, and healthy Kingdom culture, we have to look at the Son sitting at the table. If Jesus perfectly reveals the Father, then Jesus also reveals what life looks like when a person is fully convinced of the Father’s goodness and governed by His presence.
In this message, we explore one of the most challenging statements Jesus ever made: “The Son can do nothing of Himself.” In a world that celebrates independence, self-reliance, and constant reaction, Jesus models an entirely different way of living. He only moves when He sees the Father moving. He only speaks what He hears the Father saying.
What do we do when we’re misunderstood, falsely accused, overlooked, or pressured to defend ourselves? What happens when our flesh wants to react, but the Father is silent? Together, we’ll discover that sonship is not learning how to do things for God, but learning how to live from God. As we behold Jesus, we become like Him, and what is formed in us ultimately becomes the culture around us.
Healthy culture is not the goal. Jesus is. And when a people become fascinated with Him, everything else begins to grow naturally.
Abba's Table: Life Flows Downstream From How We See The Father || Matt Brown
2026/06/13
Sunday June 7th, 2026: Welcome to the beginning of a brand-new series, Abba’s Table.
At its heart, this series is an exploration of what authentic New Testament culture actually looks like. In a time when many beautiful Kingdom words have become cliché at best and triggering at worst, we want to rescue the language of family, honor, community, belonging, sonship, and spiritual fatherhood from the distortions of religion, performance, and unhealthy expressions.
But before we talk about how family functions around the table, we must first remember whose table it is.
In Week One, we begin where Jesus always began: with the Father. Through Scripture, the life of Jesus, and the story of Luke 15, we discover that the first thing we inherit at the Father’s table is not purpose, ministry, calling, culture, or even community—it is a revelation of the Father.
Because everything in our lives flows from how we see God. And when we see the Father rightly, we begin to see ourselves, one another, and the world around us rightly as well.
This is Abba’s Table — and it all starts with seeing Him.
The Mind of Christ: Identity That Becomes The Breakthrough || Matt Brown
2026/06/02
Sunday May 31st, 2026: For weeks we’ve been exploring what it means to live from the Mind of Christ. We’ve talked about renewing our minds, carrying the word of the Lord between promise and manifestation, and learning to see life through the lens of union rather than fear.
This week, the journey brings us to Jericho.
Many of us were taught that Jericho is a story about endurance. Just keep marching. Don’t quit. One day the walls will fall. While that’s certainly true, what if the greater miracle wasn’t the wall falling? What if the greater miracle was the people being transformed while they walked?
In this message, Pastor Matt explores how God wasn’t merely confronting Jericho. He was confronting Egypt. Fear, scarcity, insecurity, rejection, and self-preservation often follow us long after we’ve left old environments behind. The issue isn’t always the wall in front of us. Often it’s the lens through which we’re viewing the wall.
.The real miracle was not that walls came down.
The real miracle was that slaves became sons.
And perhaps the breakthrough you’ve been praying for is not being delayed. Perhaps the Father is teaching you how to see.
The Mind of Christ: The Walk Home Pt. 2 (When The New Wears Off) || Matt Brown
2026/06/02
Sunday May 24th, 2026: Most of us love the moment God speaks. We love the encounter. We love the breakthrough. We love the fresh word that awakens hope and reminds us of what is possible.
But what happens after the room gets quiet?
This week we revisit the story of the royal official whose son was healed by a single word from Jesus. While the miracle happened instantly for the son, the greater work was taking place in the father as he walked home carrying agreement with what God had spoken.
In this message, Pastor Matt explores the difference between encounter and formation, why so many believers become addicted to “new,” and how maturity is forged in the ordinary spaces between promise and manifestation. Discover why beloved identity creates effortless belonging, but maturity requires consistent agreement, and how the Father is raising up sons and daughters who are sustained by communion rather than constant stimulation.
The walk matters. Tuesday matters. Hidden faithfulness matters. Because the Father is not merely trying to give us encounters.
He is forming Christ within us.
