We're back and ready to chat more wine! We explain our podcasting absence with some exciting news and recap an exciting honeymoon in two of Canada's top wine regions! All the while sipping on some great wine nabbed along the way!

Are we getting a little more adventurous with our wine selection? Well, this week isn't a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon, but instead a unique and challenging Petit Sirah! What is a Petit Sirah? Great, questions, and one that we needed to answer, too! Brush up on this very globally small (ironic) grape varietal and sip along!

What better way to mark the first milestone episode of Wine'n Down than with a Cabernet Sauvignon blind taste test! Adam challenges Alysha to breakdown two very different Cab Sauvs and pick her favourite. The choice: an American favourite vs. one of Chile's most innovative wineries!

Off to Italy we go for episode 9 with a wonderfully mild and welcoming Castiglioni Chianti by Frescobaldi! Off-fruit notes on the nose with a fresh and fruity background, find out how we broke down this Tuscan delight and what we think it would pair well with!

Mistaking it for a red blend, Adam and Alysha go into the growing world of Pinotage South African wine completely blind and we are blown away with the extreme coffee and off-fruit notes of this wine! Forgive our explanation on red blends to start, because this hybrid grape varietal and finish by The Grinder is a true homerun!

Some New World wine to inspire an episode with Wakefield's lovely Promised Land 2017 Shiraz! The peppery, fruity flavour had us hooked from nose to finish. We also dispel the Canadian myth that the only wine that comes from Australia is from Jacob's Creek or has a yellow kangaroo on the bottle! If you like dry wine, this is the episode for you!

Not even barking dogs or neighbours mowing lawns can throw us off this shockingly awesome Malbec from Argentina! With both Adam and Alysha unable to recall a time they've enjoyed a Malbec or Argentinian wine, this was a pleasant surprise and a homerun wine!

We DARE you to try and find a better bang for your buck when it comes to white wine! With a shoutout to Adam's mom, we try her favourite, Vinho Verde Alianca, and are blown away with the awesome flavours and easy drinkability... especially when you look at the price tag!

Back to Europe for episode four as we delve into the wide world of Spanish Red Wine! We enjoy a hulking glass of Camp Viejo Rioja Tempranillo and get punched in the mouth with some intense flavour... that we couldn't put our finger on. PLUS we learn all about tasting with your eyes (and it really works!)
