Healing in Motion: Xavier’s Journey as a Critical Care Paramedic
2026/05/29
In this special episode of The Black Baby Boomer Podcast, host CarlG sits down with Xavier, a critical care paramedic whose work places him in some of life’s most serious and vulnerable moments. This conversation explores the man behind the uniform: his path into emergency medical care, the responsibility of providing critical care, the emotional weight of serving others, and the mindset required to remain calm, compassionate, and prepared in moments when every second matters. Xavier shares his perspective on purpose, resilience, healing, personal growth, and what it means to keep moving forward while carrying the responsibility of helping others through crisis. This episode is a tribute to the professionals who answer the call, bring stability into uncertainty, and remind us that strength is not just about enduring pressure — it is about serving with compassion through it. Father Daughter talk about Domestic violence
2021/01/30
This is an audio transcription with speaker detection in which Carl G is having a conversation with his daughter about the NFL player that has been accused of choking his girlfriend. His daughter has experience in dealing with domestic violence and she shares her knowledge with him. She explains that money doesn't necessarily influence whether or not a woman stays with an abuser, as there are often other factors at play such as isolation from friends and family, and being financially dependent on the abuser. Carl G then mentions the possibility of women's shelters, and his daughter explains that while they can be a safe place, in the age of technology it's not always easy for a woman to leave. She also explains the term 'love is blind', where people may overlook negative aspects of a person when they are in the honeymoon phase. Carl G then suggests that men need to be aware of the signs of abuse and talk about it, and his daughter agrees, adding that generational teaching of what is acceptable is also important. Finally, Carl G and his daughter talk about the rise of domestic violence during the pandemic, and he encourages listeners to come back next week to discuss this further.
