With concerts and live Gigs the next best thing as a staunch advocate for decades… I can wholeheartedly share that for Me! Long Play [LPs] media is truly up there at the Very top, Harping back to a time when it was institutionally known as the industry standard for supporting recording Artists & Musicians globally. The very fact that so many are performing live until this very day hits my Soul bitter Sweet! For one side! I for one am very VERY grateful that they are still able to replicate their musical excellence…  The other side however bodes another question!  Why have some! Not been able to retire, Reflect on their past accomplishments or at least reap the rewards for their contributions towards creating undiluted feel-good… Unfortunately the answer is in plain sight? Or is it just me! Respect Mr Leroy B, A Performing Artist who can actually see!   On my unwavering quest towards making you the listeners feel good, serving soul on  an individual path for over 44 years with 20 before filling those Dance-Floors I recently posed a question to Myself! In this reality where everything is becoming digitised… Are you actually even able to receive any of my record media’s nutritional frequencies and harmonies as intended to be share by the performing artists original proposal of connecting with you universally on a natural high where classic soul music resides, To make you feel good… Unmistakably The best way to receive this Groove is by unlocking the memories only you posses by opening your mind and then you will not only feel your way to me! But caress the Melodie’s. Thankfully I have received answers from the most influential & soul-satisfying of sources…You!  This is why I stand committed towards keeping it real, This is no quick fix or one-second Digi-Mix! The Rise of the Electric state!   Welcome Music lovers of the world and beyond… Whilst we are close to the Star-Date that everyone in the know remembers 1989 for so many uplifting reasons!  I have so far taken you on an audio safari through-the second cultural transformation in musical, the first being the DNA of dance rhythm & blues no! not of the 90’s But the tru origins of Jazz, fusion to the dance R&B of the 1970s. We are Indebted I guess to pivotal moments in history that have a direct impact on society’s that shape our ways of life! Hence the term Cultural Vibes I guess! Actually Im sure and so should anyone who have had the absolute pleasure and good fortune to have had the Soul-Unique experiences of living your lives to a back drop to so many talented and inspirational performing artist of whom have provided timeless Lyrics and Melodies to capture our lived Memories preserved forever more not only inside the deepest recessed of your inner minds, But your Physical actual record collections. The 1980s itself started with a revival post Disco and within a calendar year in acts a sequence of transformational enhancements that shaped in sequences from Electro Be-Bop to Street Dance. You have experienced Dance productions designed to feed the Dance-Floors, 1984 the year that I have consistently interpreted through enhanced productions values that this very year! Soul Music got it so right! This milestone year we have learned that 84 was not alone as 85 also maintained Legendary status in the annals of delivering the pinnacles of Dance… Whilst outside raged silently a global Cold War, Hence my term! The year that nearly wasn’t. House Musics origins go back to post Disco Ironically forged out of the Beats of classic sounds of Philly and Co plus many more! 1986 experienced a war for the label domination as imported LPs, The high street record stores became ever popular to the mainstream witnessing its meteoric rise and production houses literally could not reframe from noticing house music’s influence and they set out to cash out instead! It looked and Felt dangerous as they did not understand It could not be contained… So dilution looked to be the Plan by the MAN! The BBC once flippantly quoted to say on the news of which I personally observed regarding...House Music It just won’t last? that was quoted 40 years ago! Then same UK that paved the way for Acid House, Jungle etc. 1987 If you still played Soul in the bars and clubs You like I felt a decline as artists struggle to be supported by many labels as a shift in styled undermined what you could play out. Raves innadvertantly affected the Bars as a once prominent stable struggled against the popularity in BPM shift threatened to impact the once packed out popular venues… In 77 Sampling was embedded into Dance Trax, The Mix doctor [Les Adams] you are forever within my mind, Influencing our generation to believe in being different! Something that has guided my style to this very day… To be Unique. Thankfully 1988 House music gets Soulful with the reintroduction of Soul Sampled  Vocals to the beats created now historic super-clubs of London and beyond to set the Stage by laying the foundations for both this weeks production but also prepare us for the Year that Dance-Music once again got it soul right next weeks conclusion to the season 1989 next weeks concluding episode to the season. We return to the pinnacle of production values this Soul A:M Sunday as the main ingredients that have created dance music continues to define the gold standard into 1985.   Record stores became the  institutions for musical knowledge, Whilst bragging rights would sadly creep in certain individual DJs ego’s would not only vie for priority status! But act like they somehow owned the sole rights to play a record ? I never understood this as it was supposed to be about the music! Always.   The disc jockeys term faded into 80s Jocks morphed into DJs around 81/83 whilst also started to transition away from mailing lists being supplied directly from the record labels, over to experiencing the unboxing ceremonies in store witnessing the couriers delivered the imports right to the countertop fond memories indeed.   Popularity around Soul music would once again influence every institution reminiscent of the decade before. Like Disco from what we wore! Very light, Very bright garments representing good times, popular music term pop! Would incorporate the sounds of Soul. Top of the pops TOTPs Top Pop in Europe would update their productions to represent the Soul scene to reflect the Clubs and then something wonderful happened, Friday 6pm is Soul Train which would later rebrand into Solid Soul a channel 4 production that became the launchpad to so many UK artists..   This depiction of 1985 is but a personal depiction of my transformation into the vastly rewarding musical timeline, But thankfully for many of you! Once demonised by the mainstream to stem the flow of disco’s growth the evolution of the dance continued to expand through all new Hi fidelity production values that will set the scene for Soul music to expand these newfound  values further. Within the craft of song writing, music production incorporating the urban beats from the streets, word smiths pencil in hand, Ready to capture the harsh realities by depicting their pasts. Night clubs had over-spilled in the UK into Disco pubs with punters eager to hear the latest sounds when the club DJs were in your high street or town, whilst in London’s Southbank Be boppers and fly girls with Lino in hand were eager to get down. The Record store became the hallowed turf, we hung out to buy the latest Street sounds and state-side imports like George Duke, Larry Wu & Tyrone Brunson’s the Smurf, Uk artists were established and that was nice as the Uk singles and LPs were sold at a cheaper price.
