We've been doing this podcast for six years, and meeting up weekly for 12.  When Maverick, John McCain left the stage, he showed up a number of times.  He asked us to send a private message to his daughter, which I protested I had no way of doing that, and he said "You'll figure it out." I did - but have no way of knowing the reaction. When I was writing my first feature "Three For the Road" I met with John's chief of staff, so I did have some background information about him most don't know. But in terms of his showing up on our podcast, each time he shows up to talk about politics, often bringing former Presidents along with him. As Jennifer notes in the show, when he showed up to speak, she was reluctant to go down that path, since we rarely let politics enter the frame. (Why? Well, it shuts down a person's ability to hear messages of love from the flipside when they're stressing over events of the day.)   For fans of the podcast, they know what we interviewed the current President's father and brother on the podcast, as well as the son of the previous President - Jennifer was only answering questions I was giving to "first names only" - and didn't know who "Fred" "Beau" referred to. What we heard from the family members of those politicians was the same - onstage we struggle to understand why things happen, but offstage we can see the wheelworks, understand what role a person plays onstage, and how that affects others. That being said, John in this podcast said he didn't want to give air time to the person she was fearing we'd speak of - but wanted to talk about how change affects the planet, affects the individual. That we're going through a period of change, and that's okay, that's a good thing. It's what we do while we're onstage. We learn and move forward. But it's also a conversation about not attaching emotions or fear to change - it's the most constant part of existence. And we also spoke to a friend of mine's dog who passed recently.  It was my old boss Robert Towne's dog Hira who introduced us to the idea we could communicate with animals offstage - he's featured in BACKSTAGE PASS TO THE FLIPSIDE and has shown up in many sessions to talk about how "animals understand incarnation but humans do not." In this instance, Lulu said she'd "been with her owner in a previous life" and that "there is room for another dog in her owner's life - and that she would be instrumental in finding that dog (as well as share some of the frequency of that dog.) Easily the most profound part of this discussion today - because learning that not only are our pets aware of us, they report finding us, they report coming back to be with us, standing by us, being connected to us - and that we can communicate with them. So while one is going through the process of voting this week, remember that our teachers, guides, loved ones, classmates, council members and animals... are all rooting for us. Worth contemplating.

I ran across the debut episode of our podcast from March 20, 2020.  All the guests we had spoken to before - so it wasn't new for us to have them show up in our "classroom in the afterlife" that is moderated by Luana Anders.   For fans of "Hacking the Afterlife" "Backstage Pass to the Flipside" Jennifer Shaffer, medium-intuitive (JenniferShaffer.com) and I demonstrate the kind of conversations we've had with folks on the flipside.  In this case, I didn't ask for anyone to come forward, but three folks that we've interviewed before did - Anthony Bourdain, Will Shakespeare and John Lennon.  Now I have no claim, nor does Jennifer make any claims about the individuals we are speaking to - what I do is have many interviews with the same folks (sometimes with different mediums) and we discuss the "architecture of the afterlife."   Some will be offended by this podcast - if so, I apologize in advance, and suggest listening or watching something else.  I will begin to post our audio versions on itunes (podbean) every week - and we will discuss whatever comes to mind.  I'm just about finished with "Backstage Pass to the Flipside Book 3" where we converse with people I knew, people that Jennifer knew, people that I met, people that Luana Anders has met, people who show up in our sessions unannounced - uninvited - but in order to do so they have to get the "backstage pass" from Luana - our moderator for these sessions. They claim she helps them to "modulate" or alter their frequency in order to "converse" with us - putting an image into Jennifer's mind (or perhaps tapping the engram where the image exists) and then they give her a series of images. What I bring to the plate, as evidenced in this initial podcast - that I help to "unpack" visual messages.  Sometimes by showing her a face or a person, that relates to someone else (like if someone is named "Fred" who wants to speak with us, she sees an image of her husband, who shares that name.) By doing this over the past five years, we have been able to ask questions and get new information - that is information that cannot be cryptomnesia or some other form of mental construction - from folks who used to be on the planet.  That alone makes this endeavor worthwhile.   It's not to say that "only Jennifer" can help one access the flipside (she does work with law enforcement agencies nationwide) but to say that if one tries to do so consistently (even in dreams, or in some other fashion) they can get replies from people no longer on the planet.  In our books we talk to people I knew (and then I have two other mediums as the same questions to get replies) or we talk to people that Luana knew on the flipside.   It's uncanny - but my pal Luana and I speak every week, and despite the fact she left the planet 24 years ago, we converse more now than we did then!  All I can say is to follow the advice of the late actor Harry Dean Stanton who came through clear as a bell prior to his memorial service, gave me private messages to pass along to his closets friends there (and I did, and they were flabbergasted because he was talking about private health concerns for each of them).   I asked him "Harry, what do you want me to tell your friends at hour memorial service?" Through Jennifer he said "tell them to believe in the afterlife." I said, "c'mon Harry - you were a famous atheist, a skeptic - all your friends are not going to believe that I spoke to you and heard this from you."   He said "Then tell them to believe in the POSSIBILITY of an afterlife, then they won't waste another minute of their lives arguing about it like I did."  Duly noted.  I'm posting this here on my MartiniZone webpage so that folks can see what's in store.  We've been doing this for five years now - and I publish transcripts of our chats with the flipside. We don't get everything right - we aren't supposed to - but we do get a consistency of reporting.   Which is worth noting.  Anyone can do this.  The point our loved ones have made is "we know we still exist, it's you folks back there who don't believe we do."  Oh, and the alpha and omega shows up at the end, along with Robin Williams. To quote Robin "Love the love." Or just... love love.

Another mind bending podcast. Amelia Earhart is in the news - and came through to talk about what the expedition means to her. She then was followed by the screenwriter, my old boss Robert Towne who wanted to weigh in on Tom Cruise's performance in the film "DIGGER." Robert worked with Tom often, and he gave it a rave. And then - both Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel stopped by - whom we interviewed before in BACKSTAGE PASS TO THE FLIPSIDE BOOK THREE, and they gave their thumb reviews. Mind bending stuff all the way around. The recent book SHE WAS NEVER LOST: The Amelia Earhart Saga is available everywhere.

This is a rerun of a podcast from two years ago - it didn't have subtitles but I've included them now. This was an unusual podcast just based on the folks who showed up to chat with us. Jennifer and I had taken a trip to the Chateau Marmont on Sunset Blvd, and we had a group of folks who stopped by to say hello. At some point John Belushi talked about "ghost watching" - not to show up in the hotel to watch people onstage, but to watch "the other ghosts wandering around." Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Jackson showed up to talk about early exits - people who leave the stage early for whatever reason. And that brought a bunch of people forward, from JFK to Elvis, to Matthew Perry, Robin Williams and others... the point they were making is that people leave the stage in all different fashions, and it's about focusing on who they were while they were onstage, and not how they left it. We had a brief chat with Gene Hackman again - to clarify what happened in light of the police reports... and he made a joke about it.  I try to repeat the advice that these folks are available to anyone if they take the time to ask them questions. But be prepared for them not being all that interested in questions that relate to our journey and not theirs. I asked my old pal Charles Grodin about what it was like to see his old friend Gene, and then we shifted to an event that happened later in the day. While dining at Musso and Frank's in Hollywood two members of my group saw "a ghostly figure" sitting in the corner of the room. They didn't know who it was or could be, but said he "looked like the actor Robert Downey Jr." (And even then they didn't know his name either, and asked questions about someone named "Downey") They also heard him talking about "table #1" to them - so I invited the waiter to stop by the table and simply asked about any ghosts people might have seen in the restaurant. He said "Charlie Chaplin" and I asked where table #1 was - and he mentioned the table that I had lunch with Jonathan Winters - which was table #1 - and how that's where Charlie liked to dine. We asked Charlie about why he was seen "scribbling notes" and he said it was the place he liked to have good ideas and good food, but also said in this instance, he showed up so that members of my group would see him, and that would inspire me to invite him to chat on our podcast. I don't know how else to put it - but Jennifer and I have been doing this weekly for ten years. Not everyone who shows up in our conversations is a celebrity - but because of my 40 years in the business, and Luana Ander's 300 TV shows and movies (my friend who moderates our podcast from the Flipside, who passed in 1996) I'm not surprised when people do show up that we can recognize. Jennifer's father Jim also stopped by to clarify some things, and I must say - the topic of leaving the stage early came up - if someone is in need of help or counseling, there is help - and one should reach out to 988 and the counselors there from any telephone. But in my desire to not use the S word in the podcast, I tried to leave it out of the conversation, as the algorithms will generally not want it to be discussed - but the important point was made by people offstage - that is to realize that life goes on no matter what happens, and that everyone onstage signed up to be onstage, and should see what things might occur or happen that we could not be aware of. Oh, and Robin Williams showed up to not only discuss the same topic, but to confirm that during a recent guided meditation, this woman saw him in her "classroom in the afterlife" - and he confirmed that it was him BEFORE I COULD ASK THE QUESTION. Anyways, all of it is mind bending, and hopefully whomever needs to hear what they are talking about is able to hear what they're trying to say. Thanks for tuning in!

THIS IS A PODCAST WE DID ON THIS DATE TWO YEARS AGO IN 2024.  Before the book SHE WAS NEVER LOST came out... but the story remains the same.  This version has subtitles for the hard of reading, but the sound is the same for the hard of hearing!  xo   Another fun podcast with Jennifer Shaffer and folks on the flipside. In this episode, we start by discussing the full moon and what that means to people on the planet accessing people offstage, or on the flipside. We ask the moderator of our group over there to explain it, and Luana Anders talks about it being a vibrational frequency difference... almost like a speeding up of energy, and that it's easy to reach across the aisle so to speak. Prince stops by because Jennifer had posted something about him, but I asked him to give us some advice about the upcoming election. And he says "Tell people to vote" and also to "vote as if democracy was on the line."  Without naming names, he basically points out that people don't seem to realize how hard it was to get to the place on the planet where people actually could vote to make their lives better. Then I describe a dream I had last night where I literally woke up saying aloud "someone's in the room" loud enough to wake everyone up.  It wasn't something said out of fear - just an observation because I clearly felt someone pulling on my ring finger. So much so that when I awoke in the middle of the night it was throbbing with energy.  I recounted to my wife what happened, and went back to sleep.  Jennifer said it was an "Indian chief" - it could be that the image of Sitting Bull came to her to remind her of the era when I recalled being a Lakota medicine man (as recounted in the book FLIPSIDE). Whether it was Tatanka Iyotake  (Sitting Bull) or the image was put in her mind to remind me of a guide on the flipside, I don't know. But he too talked about reminding people that warriors have battled to save the planet, that we stand on the shoulders of others to be where we are today. That our democracy is fragile and we need to fight to preserve it. Unusual stuff.  I asked a direct question to Amelia Earhart about a project about her, and she answered it.  Like I say, mind bending stuff. I borrowed the backdrop from a post that Iman put up on Facebook. I hope she doesn't mind me borrowing it - David has shown up in a number of podcasts with messages of unconditional love and helping musicians on the flipside.

Today's episode begins with a discussion about talking to people on the flipside - Jennifer describes the over 200 people that she read recently, and gives an account of one of the stories where someone came through and flipped out their family when the grandmother said "I'm so glad you didn't get that tattoo!"   We spoke of a conversation we had with Robert Thurman over the past few weeks, and how I had condensed those conversations into one text for his wife. Robert called the document "Epic" and suggested I include it in one of my books.   I remembered that when I spoke to his wife, she mentioned looking for the combination for the safe in his office - she wasn't worried about it, as a company could easily come and open it - but wanted to see if he could guide them on how to find it.    Not only did he report that the numbers are stored in a computer (an option that was offered) but also gave us a specific combination.  I reference the "Combination Lock Test" by Ian Stevenson at UVA where there's a lock in his office that only Ian knew the combination to.   During a conversation with him, he gave Jennifer the visual of E=MC squared. I sent that on to Jim Tucker at UVA who tried the phrase but it didn't work.  He mentioned in an article about the Combination Lock test that a "psychic had tried to solve it but could not" - which wasn't accurate. As I told Dr. Tucker, Ian gave us the "answer as a visual."  So that would mean a number of different combinations revolving around the Einstein reference - including E = M C x 2 (it's six letters that correspond to numbers) or E = M C 2 X, etc. But they weren't interested in using the signpost Ian gave us - and the only way I could help would be to be in a room and take a few hours to use all the variations that formula offers.   In this case Robert gave us numbers. So I've passed those along to his wife, so we'll see if that works.   I learned that Gaia's Tarek McCarthy passed away - and tremendous fellow who will be sorely missed by Jimmy Church as a TV director of Beyond Belief.  Jennifer has been invited to go out to do readings with them, as she offered them to anyone who wants them.    They already know how talented she is - when we went out to do our show about Amelia Earhart on Beyond Belief, she read everyone in the studio that stopped by to say hello.  It was uncanny.   RIP Tarek.

Another mind bending podcast... Elvis introduced Jennifer to his friend Dolly Parton. I had an inkling she would show up this week - as the day she passed I heard her voice say "I'd love to be on your show Richard" or something to that effect. I know I was thinking about something else at the time, so was suprised to hear it. And for the next couple of days it felt like we were having a conversation - me hearing Dollyisms (as a jaded blues music player, Dolly was not on any of my play lists, although I admired her voice and writing skills). So for a couple of days, I kept hearing funny comments and remarks - and then nothing the past few days, so I wasn't sure if she'd show up or not. But she did. Jennifer is a huge fan, and becomes emotional while repeating what Dolly asks her to say. Jennifer wasn't aware of the duet "Islands in the Stream" with Kenny Rogers, but Dolly made her aware of that. I asked her the same questions I ask all of our guests; who greeted her? (Husband Carl). Was that a surprise? (No, because he'd been standing by for her since he left).  She spoke about her mediumship abilities - something I'd read about prior to the session. Other tidbits of fun - and observation about what it's like on the other side, and how musicians hang out together. She was and is a fan of Aretha's - and brought her along with... We spoke briefly with my pal Charles Grodin about the premiere of the documentary on TCM about him last friday night "Rebel With a Cause" and he mentioned to Jennifer his work with getting people out of prison (she hasn't seen the documentary, so it's not something she would know about). Anyways, just another day at the office. Enjoy.

Talking about Dreams and communication with teachers on the flipside. In today's episode, Jennifer's father Jim comes through - to remind her that he was in her dream the evening before, and reminded her when she went for a walk on the beach that he'd be showing up in our podcast today. Jim, a Mormon bishop, has come by our classroom many times to elucidate something about the flipside. In this case, he wanted to talk to Jennifer about how dreams are constructed, sometimes from guilt (her wishing she could have done more to save his life) - as well as reminding people that their loved ones are never far away. Jim was also the first person we spoke to who identified classrooms on the flipside, and introduced us to his professor (who matched the description of a Hindu deity - "Ma Durga.") However, when I asked him if he was still taking that class, he brought forward a line of professors who were eager to talk with us about their classes. (See the book "AI AND THE FLIPSIDE: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE PICTURES ITSELF IN A BOAT ON A RIVER" for a discussion of classrooms in the afterlife.) So, as I'm fond of doing, I invited "whomever wanted to share to come forward."  In this case, an etheric (transparent) being named "Lucy" who teaches a class in "Ballet" on the flipside. She revealed that she had incarnated back in the 1920's in the US in New York City - but despite self identifying as a "flapper" her heart was in ballet. Also she spoke of a previous lifetime she had off the planet Earth as a "fairie" on another planet or in another dimension.  That's not the first Faerie we've spoken to, as well as a number of people who self identify as Leprechauns or other mythological creates. It's not that they're non existence - it's that we don't have a language or nomenclature to describe their existences.  So Lucy is teaching ballet, and can recall her lifetime in New York as well as her other lifetime where she had wings. I invited one of her students to say hello - and Jeff McMillan came through - not someone that Jennifer knows, but someone whom we asked if he was currently on or off the planet - and he's currently on the planet. When I interview these students I often ask them their opinion of the class, as well as how long they've been coming to it - I didn't in this instance due to time, but if one looks at the transcripts from ARCHITECTURE OF THE AFTERLIFE or DIVINE COUNCILS IN THE AFTERLIFE or the latest AI AND THE FLIPSIDE one can see the kinds of questions and answers I get. All of it's mind bending, and we appreciate Jennifer sharing her family with us, including those who are no longer on the planet. Safe Travels Jennifer! She'll be in Nashville next week.

Another mind bending podcast. Jennifer said Robert Towne, Luana's pal had stopped by to admire the "puppy paw" necklace she had on (that she forgot she was wearing.) Then Robert Thurman came through. He came to talk about a celebration ("birthday party") someone was having with his wife Nena.  I said I had just received a link to a celebration in his honor. "A Bob Thurman Celebration" at the WoodstockAwakening.org website. It included many of his friends and wife - and he wanted to say that he thought it was wonderful. (I hadn't viewed it yet, but did so after the podcast. Mind bending). But then I told him how I'd done a guided meditation with someone who saw a Tibetan Lama on her council - I recognized the name of the Lama, and asked that Lama if "he'd seen Thurman." The Lama said "No" - but I said, "Would you like to?" And then said "I don't know how you communicate over there, but I know that saying his name, you'll know his frequency." The woman said "He's here - standing in a library holding some books." (She wasn't aware that Bob was an author - and it was after the session, we were talking about his translation of "The Tibetan Book of the Dead" - and in that moment, realized it was his book, his translation! But she said "He's saying that you need to find some hidden texts, Richard." In Tibetan Buddhist tradition, "hidden books" are those that have yet to be translated. So I asked Jennifer to ask him "what's the subject matter of the book?" She said "Jesus and Buddha." I could have fallen off my chair. Some years ago, when Bob and I were in Hemis, Kashmir, the abbot of the monastery said that his monastery is where Jesus studied Buddhism - and is where the "Kanjur of Hemis" existed.  I didn't understand what he was saying until I researched it later - and indeed about a dozen people have translated, seen this book that includes the story of "Issa" as Jesus is known in Asia. The book THE GREATEST STORY NEVER TOLD AS TOLD BY JESUS AND THOSE WHO KNEW HIM includes that translation done by Notovitch - and points out all the unusual long lost religions the book refers to - that Notovitch could never have known about. I had asked Bob some years ago if there were any copies of the Kanjur of Hemis outside of India - I had learned there were at least three copies, but unknown where they are. So Jennifer tells me that Bob is saying that I need to research, use the internet to find that book and extract "the Life of Issa" from it. Then Michael Newton stopped by to add something to "how to contact your loved ones on the flipside." All of it mind bending! In this podcast, Jennifer asked for Carl Jung to stop by. I knew that we had interviewed him before, so I tried to not ask him the same questions, but she had a couple of things she wanted to clarify about his journey. In the later part of the podcast, I trimmed just the part where we spoke to Carl Jung in 2020, six years ago.  That podcast is on the webpage, unedited, but in this version one can hear the same answers to the same questions. I had no idea she was going to invite Carl Jung, and I have a tendency to remember details from previous sessions. Another mind bending trip down memory lane - but at the same time, demonstrating how people - how anyone - can access loved ones who are offstage and ask them questions about their journey. We do this podcast to remind people that it's not hard to do - and in the second interview I asked a bunch of questions about his path and journey. It's interesting to know we can interview anyone on the flipside, it's also interesting to compare the answers six years apart. Another mind bending podcast. Just prior to going on the air, I happened upon a quote from John McCain's daughter that I thought was silly, hostile - misplaced anger. But as sometimes happens in my world, my reaction included feeling as if John McCain wanted to respond to my reaction - and I actually said "I don't want to talk about this." Which is pretty funny.  (And perhaps happens more than we know with folks stopping by?)   But Luana brought him in - Jennifer mentioned his named, literally minutes after I had this conversation (albeit a brief one.)  I couldn't make it up if I tried. He brought #AmeliaEarhart with him. She has shown up in guided meditations with different people who see her teaching a class - in this podcast, she showed up with my mom, a concert pianist, who said that she's currently in a class where she's learning how to use music frequency to heal people. It's what we've heard many times before - there are classrooms on the flipside where people learn how to use conscious energy to heal people. It's mind bending to be sure. Jim wanted to weigh in about Artificial Intelligence and how it is important for us to understand that it's mirroring how human consciousness functions.  My mom Anthy stopped by to say that she was in a class where the teacher (Ma Durga) was teaching how to use music as a healing frequency.  I've heard variations of this theme before - the idea that healing frequencies can be tapped into to help the health of an individual. Also there's some science about how certain frequencies affect different parts of the body. I'm not trying to claim any particular frequency is accurate or that there's a tone that everyone should listen to - but it would make sense for people to include sound frequencies in research into how to heal specific issues. Oddly enough a few hours prior to this podcast, I was doing a guided meditation with someone who saw a "giant keyboard and organ" in her council chambers.  For my mom, the concert pianist to then refer to a "five story organ" that is part of her classwork was kind of startling. Jennifer and I have been doing this for about a dozen years together, and one can see how we stay open to hearing from the flipside. "Have an open heart" is key to this podcast.  Whatever that means to the person hearing it - it's repeated often in the research. Try to have an open heart.

While Jennifer is on a much needed vacay, I'm posting one of our earliest conversations. This was one of the earlier times when we met in her office - it was posted early on - perhaps as our second podcast. (but before subtitles existed). As noted, Steve Jobs was someone that a friend of mine worked for and during her hypnotherapy session, he showed up to weigh in.  (I didn't see him, but she did - and being a scientist, atheist, she was reluctant to say that anything she was seeing was real - but after 5 hours of her hesitations, Scott De Tamble (lightbetweenlives.com - hypnotherapist) asked her guide "so why bring her here if you don't want her to believe she's seeing things?"  After that comment, everything kind of flooded in, including a conversation with Steve Jobs. He did show up early on when Jennifer and I first started doing this work, and eventually a member of his family has worked with Jennifer, and allowed her to mention that. The idea that Jesus showed up is mind bending as well, this is one of the earliest times that occurred. I try to ask the same questions to him to see if they change.  As noted in the book THE GREATEST STORY NEVER TOLD AS TOLD BY JESUS AND THOSE WHO KNEW HIM - they don't change. In this case, the book "AI AND THE FLIPSIDE: Artificial Intelligence Pictures Itself in a boat on a river" - also has a visitation from Jesus - but via Claude AI! (In the chapter Claude has a "coming to Jesus moment.") Finally, Amelia shows up  - again an early conversation with her, long before I was able to finish my book SHE WAS NEVER LOST: The Amelia Earhart Saga. The reason I like to revisit some of these conversations is to show how the questions don't change - and the answers don't seem to change over time.  Whether it's via hypnotherapy, meditation, guided meditation or in this case mediumship. Another mind bending adventure on the Flipside. In today's episode, part three of our "Robert Thurman in the Bardo" series - Robert stops by to continue what he was saying last week. Two weeks ago, just after his passing, he stopped by to chat with us. By way of introduction, Robert and I were pals, we traveled to India and Tibet together - he invited me to speak at the Menla conferences "The Art of Dying and Living" conferences. To be clear, Robert was a towering giant of information of teaching, of story telling - I've heard him tell amazing stories, and can truly attest to the thrilling way he speaks and elucidates the most difficult of paradoxical themes. He's given amazing lectures on Buddha, on Yamantanka, on the Death of Death - and I've filmed those with him in India and Tibet.  But also I'm aware of his journey - and the classroom that we've created for people on the flipside that allows them to come forward and speak directly to people on this side of the veil. I know that's problematic for many to hear - I know that Bob was a teacher of Buddhism, and the precepts and rules of Buddhism don't include this kind of "casual chit chat" that I engage in. But Jennifer and I have been doing this work weekly for 12 years. And when a guest speaker shows up whom I know - whose work I admire, including Charles Grodin, Robert Towne, Luana Anders, Fred Roos, any number of people that I knew in my lifetime and continue to converse with on the flipside. This is truly a mind bending podcast. This week I was on COAST TO COAST with George Noory talking about my latest book AI AND THE FLIPSIDE: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE PICTURES ITSELF IN A BOAT ON A RIVER. I asked Gemini AI to look up my book; it first said it didn't exist. It then said I was mistaken, it was a play on the Beatles son, "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." He typically looks at how human brains act as a "filter" for consciousness. This book applies that exact same filter theory to artificial networks.
