To celebrate our 200th episode of Whats My Frame; I'm joined by Alexis Booth & Faith Abraham for an inside look at the casting process. Alexis shares her creative journey to Head of Casting at Kapital Entertainment, while Faith reflects on nearly a decade in casting across TV and film. Together, they walk us through the executive casting process at Kapital Entertainment. It’s an encouraging, conversation about building relationships, staying grounded and gaining a deeper understanding of the creatives championing for us with each audition.  Alexis Booth Full Bio: Alexis began her career working on hit shows like Scrubs and Desperate Housewives before transitioning into television casting. She worked in Scott Genkinger & Deborah George’s office on Breakout Kings and Gigantic, and then moved to feature films with Roger Mussenden & Jeremy Rich, casting X-Men: First Class and Jack and Jill. Alexis then transitioned to TNT and TBS, where she rose through the executive ranks and oversaw casting for a decade, managing projects such as Snowpiercer, The Alienist, The Last Ship, Major Crimes, The Last O.G., Wrecked, and People of Earth. With the launch of HBO Max, she also managed casting for The Flight Attendant and Made for Love. After working as a casting director on an assortment of television pilots and films for cable and streaming, Alexis began her current position as Head of Casting at Kapital Entertainment. She has worked on shows and films, including The Neighborhood, Watson, DMV, Crutch, One Mile, Civil Justice, and Comedy Pays. Faith Abraham Full Bio: Faith Abraham has been working in casting for nearly a decade and is currently based in Los Angeles. This native east coaster came out west to work in the film and entertainment industry. Since then, she has worked on several different television shows and features films. Some of which includes, CBS’s CSI: Vegas and Fire Country, NBC’s Good Girls, Netflix’s Firefly Lane and Blumhouse’s Halloween. More recently she has become apart of the in house casting team at Kapital Entertainment. Over the years, Faith has developed an eye for spotting exceptional talent and has enjoyed years of nurturing relationships between talent and creatives.

Director Kelly Park is from Philly. She attended Quaker schools during her early years, influencing her life perspective. After launching her career as a marketer and project manager in the technology and advertising industries, she decided to switch things up. Inspired by her actress mother to listen to her "funny bone", she took a leap of faith, and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in comedy. She began studying at Second City and The Groundlings, which led to commercials, short films, and sketch comedies. However, she soon realized being in front of the camera wasn't what fed her soul, teaching was. This eventually would lead to teaching children and young adults the fundamentals of acting and improv. Kelly quickly became one of the most sought-after acting coaches in television, working on numerous pilots and television shows for Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, Amazon, and Netflix. This led to her ultimate passion, which is directing. She debuted on the Emmy-nominated Netflix show ALEXA & KATIE and directed several episodes including the series finale. From there, she went onto direct numerous shows such as THE NEIGHBORHOOD, FAMILY REUNION, THE UPSHAWS, NIGHT COURT, FRASIER, GRACE & FRANKIE, THE GAME, STATION 19. It didn't stop there for Kelly, she became a Pilot Director for COUNTRY COMFORT (Netflix), BLACK DON'T CRACK (ABC), LOPEZ VS. LOPEZ (NBC), and NON-EVIL TWIN (NBC).She is also a writer and producer, currently developing several projects with her husband and producing partner. So far, they've sold shows to CBS and NBC. Today on Whats My Frame, I’m joined by Casting Director Meg Morman. Meg is a casting director and partner at Morman Boling Casting. Her award-winning work includes the feature films Omaha (Sundance 2025), Green and Gold, Waitress, Hello, My Name is Doris, Aporia, The Ballad of Lefty Brown, and Me and You and Everyone We Know. TV and streaming credits include The Baxters, Sneakerheads, Ish Hashuv Meod, The Dead Girls Detective Agency, and the Emmy-nominated Relationship Status. Meg has also worked extensively in narrative podcasts, casting notable projects such as DC High: Volume Batman, Blackout, Ad Lucem, 13 Days of Halloween (Seasons 2 & 3), Last Known Position, and Narcissa. An Artios Award winner and Heller Award nominee, she is currently in her second term on the Casting Society Board. She has also served as a casting advisor for Film Independent’s Directing Lab and the Global Media Makers project.

Born and raised just outside of Boston, Ian Cardoni currently stars in Adult Swim’s two-time Emmy Award-winning animated comedy series “Rick and Morty” as the titular character Rick Sanchez. Cardoni stepped into the iconic role at the start of season 7 and can be heard as the voice of Rick in seasons 7 & 8 which are available to watch on HBO Max, with season 9 coming to Adult Swim soon. The hit series was recently renewed through season 12. Cardoni has voiced numerous roles across adult and children’s animation, video games, TV promo, and commercials, including recent roles in the Children’s & Family Emmy-nominated and Annie Award-nominated Nickelodeon series “Rock, Paper, Scissors,” in Fox’s animated series “Krapopolis,” and in the Sony Pictures Classic film “Scarlet” from Academy Award-nominated director Mamoru Hosoda which had its national theatrical release on February 13, 2026, and was an official selection at Venice and Toronto international film festivals in 2025. Cardoni’s voice has also been heard announcing for WWE, SyFy Network, Apple TV, and Disney+. In the video game space, Cardoni has voiced roles across various critically-acclaimed titles, including “DC: Dark Legion” by Warner Brothers Games, “CookieRun: The Darkest Night” by Devsisters, “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 & 4” by Iron Galaxy, and he reprised his “Rick and Morty” role of Rick Sanchez in the chart-topping game “MultiVersus” from Warner Brothers Games which has received multiple Game Awards nominations. Most recently, Cardoni can be heard as the villain Magrus in third-person action game “Romeo is a Dead Man” by Grasshopper Manufacture and legendary developer Suda51, which released in February 2026.  Outside of his acting career, Cardoni is a proud and active Emerson College alumni who spends his time on philanthropic ventures and educational endeavors. Today on Whats My Frame I'm joined by Director & Author, Rob Spera. Rob has a broad background in film, television, and theatre. His credits include the feature films The Sweet Life, Fathers and Sons, the cult classic Leprechaun in the Hood, and the TV shows Criminal Minds, Supernatural, Suspect Behavior, and Army Wives. During four seasons as Resident Director at the Tony Award-winning Actors Theatre of Louisville, he directed over 75 productions. His play Tracks enjoyed a successful run in Los Angeles, where it was hailed as “Chilling” by Variety, “Haunting long after leaving the theatre” by the Daily News, and “a comic horrific dance of death…in a world somewhere between Samuel Beckett and Full Metal Jacket” by The Los Angeles Times. Rob’s teaching credits include 20 years at the American Film Institute Conservatory, as well as contributions to AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women, the Sundance Collab, the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Brooklyn College, and numerous others. His students regularly earn top honors at festivals worldwide, as well as awards and nominations from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He is currently the Head of Directing at Rideback RISE in Los Angeles, a fellowship program for mid-career filmmakers from POC and underrepresented groups. Today on What’s My Frame, I’m joined by casting director Leeba Zakharov, a native New Yorker whose career spans more than two decades across film and television. An immigrant raised on the Lower East Side, Leeba’s journey into storytelling is deeply personal. She minored in theater at SUNY Albany. Prior to transitioning into casting, she built a foundation in development and acquisitions, serving as an assistant at Miramax and Madstone Films, and later joining Focus Features.Leeba proudly credits legendary casting director Avy Kaufman as a pivotal mentor and someone who instilled in her a lifelong commitment to collaboration, trust, and honoring the vulnerability of actors. That philosophy continues to shape her work today. Bilingual in Russian and English, Leeba brings a culturally nuanced perspective to the stories she helps bring to life.

Today on What’s My Frame, I’m joined by Tom Wozniczka. Tom currently stars in Apple TV’s Drops of God. Prior he starred as ‘Patrice’ in the fourth season of Slow Horses opposite Gary Oldman. Tom and I chat about the complexities of playing a villain while having compassion for your character, the importance of trusting your instincts in your self-tapes and creating a space for yourself. This past holiday season, Tom appeared opposite Minka Kelly in the Netflix film Champagne Problems. Tom began his career in the French film Les Damnés and currently resides in France. Today on Whats My Frame, I’m joined by Casting Director Anya Colloff. Born and raised in Los Angeles to a family of artists and educators, storytelling has always been at the center of Anya’s life. She earned her BA from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. It was during her senior year, through an internship in casting, that Anya discovered her love for casting! After graduating, Anya began her career working with legendary casting directors Jane Jenkins and Janet Hirshenson, where she had the opportunity to collaborate on projects with Steven Spielberg, Rob Reiner, and Ron Howard. In 1999, she co-founded CFB Casting, which later evolved into Colloff/Nicolo in 2011. Anya is a four-time Emmy nominee and two-time Artios nominee, notable credits include Party Down, New Girl, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Young Rock & High Potential. What she loves most about casting is being part of meaningful storytelling, whether through comedy or drama, and helping artists find their way into roles that truly resonate. In 2023 Anne won the DGA award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Children’s Programs for an episode of the Apple TV+ show BEST FOOT FORWARD. Anne is one of the founders of the LGBTQ+ committee at the DGA which became an official part of the Guild in 2022. She was recently elected to serve on the DGA inaugural LGBTQ+ Representative Committee.  In Television, Anne has directed episodes of THE ROOKIE, THE GOOD DOCTOR, THE RESIDENT, BONES, MACGYVER, THE BOLD TYPE, THE FOSTERS and JUST ADD MAGIC. She is currently attached to direct the feature film CHEF’S CHOICE. Anne directed the award-winning short film LOVE IS LOVE featuring Emmy winner Jane Lynch. Anne’s feature film, THE PERFECT FAMILY, starring Kathleen Turner, Emily Deschanel and Jason Ritter, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film screened at over 50 festivals worldwide prior to its US theatrical release. Anne graduated from Sydney University with a B.S. in Physiotherapy. Her passion for the healing arts led her to travel internationally and study many forms of complementary medicine, healing, psychology and spirituality. While living in New York City, Anne studied acting and her inspiration for directing developed through a love of script analysis and storytelling. Anne’s background infuses her directing- she brings intuition, kindness and collaboration to her work as well as a strong ability to communicate clearly with all departments. Anne is excited to continue to direct dynamic and nuanced character driven material, especially work that highlights underrepresented communities with a focus on women and queer stories.

Today on Whats My Frame, I’m joined by Director, Writer, and Producer Stephanie Laing. Stephanie opens up about her creative process and how her dual perspective as both a producer and director strengthens her craft and career. She takes us behind the scenes of Palm Royale, sharing stories from set and what it was like collaborating with comedy legends Kristen Wiig and Carol Burnett. Stephanie also walks us through the journey of bringing her upcoming feature, TOW to the screen. Full Bio: Sundance Alumni Stephanie Laing is an Emmy-winning director, writer, and producer. Laing recently wrapped production on feature film, Tow, under her newly launched Cake or Death Pictures. Tow, which Laing also directs, is the inspirational true story of Amanda Ogle, an unhoused Seattle woman who fought her way out of tow-company hell to reclaim her life and the car that held it all together after receiving a tow bill for $21,634. Tow had its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Festival in the Spotlight Narrative film category, and was recently picked up by Roadside Attractions and Vertical for a 2026 theatrical release. Tow stars Rose Byrne as Ogle and currently holds a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Dominic Sessa, Octavia Spencer, Ariana DeBose, and Demi Lovato also star in the film. On the television side, Laing most recently directed 5 episodes on season two of Apple TV’s Emmy-nominated series Palm Royale starring Kristen Wiig, Carol Burnett, Allison Janney, Laura Dern, and Ricky Martin, where she also serves as an Executive Producer. This follows her work on season one of the show, where she also directed multiple episodes. Additionally, Laing directed 3 episodes in season one of Apple TV’s hit Jon Hamm series Your Friends and Neighbors, and she has directed 6 episodes for the upcoming season two, which she’s also an Executive Producer on. Laing also directed 24 of 30 episodes and served as an Executive Producer on the Emmy-nominated series Physical starring Rose Byrne on Apple TV+. Prior to this, she was the series director of Jez Butterworth’s Mammals starring Sally Hawkins and James Corden for Amazon Prime. A Sundance alumni, Laing’s pilot Bootstrapped starring Sam Richardson was an official selection of Sundance in 2019. Laing’s feature film Family Squares, starring Henry Winkler, Judy Greer, June Squibb, Casey Wilson, Margo Martindale, and more, was released theatrically in February of 2022. Today on What’s My Frame, I’m joined by award-winning director and producer DeMane Davis. This conversation has so much heart, insight, and encouragement—it’s the perfect start to our year. From the way DeMane creates a culture of kindness on her sets to the creative community that has supported her career, this conversation is a beautiful example of following your dreams, preparing for opportunities, and understanding how thoughts become things. Today, DeMane shares favorite stories from QUEEN SUGAR, BRILLIANT MINDS, and a few childhood laughs. DeMane Davis is an award-winning television director, producer, and commercial director who has an overall creative deal with Warner Brothers Television Group. Under this pact, Davis first served as co-executive producer/producing director of Ava DuVernay's DC Comics series "Naomi" for the CW Network. She helmed multiple episodes (including the series finale) and oversaw the show's directing team. Soon after, she directed the pilot and second episode of the NBC missing persons drama "Found" from Nkechi Okoro Carroll and Greg Berlanti. Davis received a Gracies Awards Honorable Mention for her work on "Found" and returned in their final season to direct the penultimate episode. She is now working as Executive Producer/Producing Director on the acclaimed drama series "Brilliant Minds," the TV series inspired by the work of neuroscientist and author Dr. Oliver Sacks, played by Zachary Quinto. In 2020, Davis produced and directed the last two episodes of the four-part Emmy-nominated Netflix limited series "Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam CJ Walker." The period drama starred Octavia Spencer, Blair Underwood and won three NAACP Image Awards, including Outstanding TV Movie, Limited Series or Dramatic Special. In 2020 and 2021, she was co-executive producer on the CBS drama "Clarice," the television sequel to the Academy Award winning film "The Silence of the Lambs," and directed the two-part season finale. Davis began her career writing and directing independent features. Both of her films premiered in Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival internationally at Edinburgh. She's best known for "Lift," the story of a "booster" or professional shoplifter, which was selected for the prestigious Sundance Director's and Screenwriter's Labs. It starred Kerry Washington in her first leading role. "Lift" was honored with two Spirit Award nominations before airing originally on Showtime. Davis was working on teleplays and freelancing as an advertising copywriter when the prolific director and producer Ava DuVernay ("ORIGIN," "When They See Us" literally "slipped into her DMs. DuVernay asked her to helm an episode of her groundbreaking series, "Queen Sugar" (OWN). Davis, of course, agreed and arrived at the "Queen Sugar " production office on crutches (who has time for a broken ankle?). Later that summer, DuVernay asked Davis to be Producing Director on the third season of "Queen Sugar." She directed the celebrated premiere where Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe) learns he's not the father of his son, as well as two more episodes while overseeing DuVernay's all female, first-time-TV-directing sisterhood. She was also one of a handful of directors asked to return by DuVernay to direct two episodes of the final acclaimed season of "Queen Sugar" in 2022. Davis has directed the GLAAD Media Award nominated series, "The Red Line" (CBS), episodes of "You" and "The Girls on the Bus" for HBO/MAX. She also helmed "For the People," and multiple episodes of fan favorites "How to Get Away with Murder" and "Station 19" When not directing, Davis splits her time between writing and being involved with several philanthropic endeavors including ABCD Boston (an organization dedicated to eradicating poverty), The Innocence Project and the Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism.

Andrew is a highly accomplished producer, director and screenwriter, most recently known for executive producing and directing the global hit series EMILY IN PARIS. Today on What's My Frame I'm joined by Director, Melissa Kosar. Melissa has been a recurring director on primetime hits like Abbott Elementary and The Goldbergs. She was Co-Executive Producer / Director on season two of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers for Disney+. On ABC, she has directed Black-ish, American Housewife, The Wonder Years, and The Middle. Melissa is a Chicago native and knew she wanted to pursue a career in production after watching a behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of Back To The Future II in her 7th grade technology class. She grew up with a love for sports, movies, art, theater, and music which all meld into her passion for storytelling. Melissa approaches directing as a creative artist with a technical eye, and combines her athletic intuition and instincts she learned as a former athlete and coach into her methods as a director.
