UNBRIDLED: What Horses Can Teach Us About Human Leadership | Marlene Armstrong & Maureen Donoghue
2026/09/30
TEATIME WITH MISS LIZ
September 30th, 2026 | 3 PM EST
Unbridled Coaching • Certified Equus Coaches • Leadership & Connection
Friendship • Partnership • Trust • Connection • Presence • Relationship
What can a horse teach us about leadership?
More than you might think.
On this episode of Teatime with Miss Liz, we welcome Marlene Armstrong and Maureen Donoghue, co-founders and certified Equus coaches with Unbridled Coaching at Foxview Stables in Osgoode, Ontario, Canada.
Together, Marlene and Maureen bring decades of experience in leadership, education, psychology, public service, management, friendship and life experience into a very different kind of classroom.
One where the teachers have four legs.
Marlene spent 35 years in public-service leadership before transforming her passion for horses into Foxview Stables.
With an Honours Bachelor of Commerce, extensive project-management experience and certification as an Equus coach, Marlene combines her professional leadership experience with intuition and equine-facilitated learning.
💚 Favourite Colour: Green✨ One Word: Courageous
Maureen brings a background in psychology, a Master’s in Education, and a career spanning teaching, training and management with the Canadian federal government.
Today, as a certified Equus coach, she explores how trust, self-awareness and connection influence our personal relationships and the way we lead.
🍷 Favourite Colour: Burgundy✨ One Word: Connected
Friendship • Partnership • Trust
And their T-E-E:
Connection • Presence • Relationship
Together, Marlene and Maureen invite people to look at leadership and relationships through a different lens—one where horses become partners in learning.
A horse doesn't care about your job title.
A horse doesn't need your carefully prepared presentation.
A horse responds to what is happening right now.
That creates a fascinating opportunity to explore how we communicate, build trust, show up, and how our presence affects another living being.
What happens when we stop trying to control everything around us and start paying attention to the relationship we're creating?
What can a horse reveal about us that another human being sometimes cannot?
And what can those lessons teach us about leadership?
Miss Liz, Marlene, and Maureen explore:
🐴 Equine-facilitated learning🤝 Friendship, partnership and trust🌿 Presence and self-awareness💬 Communication and connection✨ Leadership through relationship❤️ Understanding how we show up🐎 What horses can reflect back to us🌱 Personal growth and transformation
Leadership isn't always about being the loudest person in the room.
Sometimes leadership begins in silence.
In presence.
In awareness.
In trust.
And in understanding the effect we're having on another living being.
Marlene and Maureen's work invites us to consider whether some of our most important leadership lessons might come from simply slowing down, paying attention and being willing to see ourselves through another's response.
“Sometimes the greatest teacher doesn’t give us the answer. It quietly reflects back how we’re showing up, until we’re courageous enough to see ourselves.” — Miss Liz
Join Miss Liz, Marlene Armstrong and Maureen Donoghue at the Teatime table for a conversation about horses, leadership, trust, connection and the relationships that teach us who we are.
Grab your cup—and let's dig deep.

From True Crime to Murder, Mystery & Mayhem with Pepper Anne
2026/09/29
TEATIME WITH MISS LIZ
September 29th, 2026 | 7 PM EST
True Crime Author • Crime Fiction Writer • Storyteller
Truth • Reinvention • Justice • Fiction • A Touch of Comedy
Some guests return to the Teatime table with another chapter.
Pepper Anne is back—and this time, she's bringing a whole new direction.
Known for her passion for true crime and uncovering the fuller stories behind real cases, Pepper is expanding her writing into the world of murder, mystery, thriller, and comedy with her upcoming fiction project:
📖 Penny Pearl Mysteries: Mayhem in a Small Town
She's currently developing the manuscript with her editor while exploring both traditional publishing and self-publishing.
So this conversation isn't only about where Pepper has been.
It's about what changed, why she changed direction, and what she's creating next.
💙 Favourite Colour: Blue🔥 One Word: Passionate
T — TranquilE — EaseA — Accepting
A fascinating combination for a storyteller whose work takes us into murder, crime, mystery, and mayhem.
Pepper's true-crime work has focused on looking beyond the stories audiences may already know and exploring the fuller picture—giving people the opportunity to consider different perspectives and make their own judgments about right, wrong, and justice.
Her first book, The Notorious Texas Swindler, brought readers into a true-crime story rooted in Texas.
Now Pepper is opening a new creative door.
With Penny Pearl Mysteries: Mayhem in a Small Town, she's creating her own fictional world where murder, mystery, suspense, and comedy can collide.
And she's facing a question many writers encounter:
What comes next?
Does she pursue literary agents and traditional publishing?
Does she self-publish?
Or does the right path reveal itself along the way?
There's something special about welcoming a returning guest.
We get to see what has changed.
Because people evolve.
Writers evolve.
Interests change.
Voices become stronger.
And sometimes the next chapter looks completely different from the one before it.
Pepper's journey from true-crime storytelling into crime fiction doesn't erase where she began. Instead, it gives her another space to explore her love of storytelling.
Tonight, Miss Liz and Pepper talk about:
🔎 True crime and storytelling📖 Moving from nonfiction into fiction🕵️ Murder, mystery and thriller writing😂 Bringing comedy into crime fiction✍️ Working with an editor📚 Traditional publishing vs. self-publishing🌱 Reinventing yourself as a writer💡 Finding the courage to change direction☕ The evolution of a storyteller
A writer is probably listening who has already established themselves in one genre.
But another story keeps calling.
They're afraid readers won't follow.
They're afraid they'll confuse their brand.
They're afraid they're starting over.
What would you tell the writer who knows they're ready to change—but is afraid to step outside the box everyone already knows them for?
“Changing direction doesn’t erase the road you’ve already travelled. Sometimes everything we’ve learned on the old road is exactly what prepares us to write—and live—the next chapter.” — Miss Liz
So grab your cup and join Miss Liz and returning guest Pepper Anne for a conversation about truth, fiction, reinvention, publishing, and the wonderful mayhem that can happen when a storyteller decides to try something new.

Reclaiming Your Third Act: Power, Clarity & Passion with Naomi Simpson
2026/09/29
Naomi Simpson September 29th, 2026 | 3 PM EST
Professional Astrologer • Coach • Yoga Teacher • Entrepreneur • Guide & Confidante
Power • Clarity • Passion • Relationships • Reinvention
What happens when a woman reaches a point in life and realizes she doesn’t want to keep living the life she's always lived?
She wants to choose what comes next.
On this episode of Teatime with Miss Liz, we welcome Naomi Simpson, a Toronto-based professional astrologer and coach who works with confident, independent women navigating relationships, personal growth, and what she calls the Third Act of Life.
Naomi’s own journey is a powerful story of reinvention.
Her path has taken her from corporate HR to entrepreneurship, where she built a six-figure pet-services business. She became a yoga teacher, discovered astrology, walked the Camino de Santiago, raised a child as a single mother, managed an 85-acre farm, and eventually created another professional chapter as an astrologer and coach.
Her experiences bring three powerful words to the Teatime table:
POWER — Reclaiming ownership of your choices and direction.
CLARITY — Understanding yourself, your relationships, and what you truly want.
PASSION — Creating a life that feels vibrant rather than simply comfortable.
Naomi left corporate HR in 2003 and stepped into entrepreneurship, building The Kennel Club, a pet-services business that grew into a six-figure success.
In 2009, she became a yoga teacher.
In 2015, she discovered her passion for astrology.
In 2019, she walked the Camino de Santiago.
And in 2020, she began another entrepreneurial chapter as a professional astrologer and coach.
Today, Naomi works with women navigating relationships, personal growth, and the possibilities of their Third Act. Her approach brings together coaching with practices including astrology, yoga, and somatic exercises.
Her story also includes the realities of independence, motherhood, entrepreneurship, and managing an 85-acre farm.
This isn't simply a conversation about starting over.
It's about asking:
Who am I now?
What do I really want?
And what might be possible if I give myself permission to choose differently?
A woman may be listening who has spent years showing up for everybody else.
Her children.
Her partner.
Her career.
Her family.
Her responsibilities.
And now she is looking toward the next chapter, thinking:
“I don’t even know what I want anymore.”
Naomi explores the questions that can help us begin finding our way back to ourselves.
Because reinvention doesn't belong only to the young.
No single age is when we're allowed to discover ourselves.
No one career is required forever.
And no one definition of love, connection, independence, or success does everyone have to follow.
Perhaps the Third Act isn't about becoming younger again.
Perhaps it's about becoming more fully ourselves.
Join Miss Liz and Naomi Simpson for an honest and thoughtful conversation about:
✨ Reinvention and new beginnings✨ Relationships and personal growth✨ Finding clarity about what you want✨ Women and the Third Act of Life✨ Independence and entrepreneurship✨ Astrology and self-discovery✨ The courage to make changes✨ Moving from comfort toward passion✨ Understanding who we are in different chapters of life
Naomi brings her experiences, energy, wisdom, and perspective to the Teatime table.
So grab your cup, settle in, and join us for a conversation about reclaiming your Third Act.
“A new chapter doesn’t ask us to erase the woman we were. It asks us to carry forward her wisdom, release what no longer belongs, and give ourselves permission to choose what comes next.” — Miss Liz

The Art of the Whodunit with Erik D’Souza Mystery, Truth & Canadian Storytelling

TEATIME WITH MISS LIZ — ERIK D’SOUZA
The Art of the Whodunit
📅 September 24, 2026 | 🕖 7 PM EST
What makes a great mystery?
Is it the crime, the clues, the suspects, or the unexpected twist? Or is it the person who refuses to stop asking questions until the truth finally comes to light?
On this episode of Teatime with Miss Liz, we welcome Erik D’Souza — Canadian mystery author, publisher, professional speaker, and passionate literary community builder.
Erik created the Suzanne Rickson Mystery Series, traditional whodunits featuring a shrewd senior sleuth against the beautiful backdrop of British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast.
In this conversation, we explore the art of mystery writing and much more:
🔎 The traditional whodunit
📚 Writing and publishing
🕵️ Senior sleuths and aging characters
🌊 Why British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast makes such an intriguing setting
🧩 Creating clues without giving away the solution
✍️ The realities of being an author
🤝 Building strong literary communities
🇨🇦 Canadian storytelling
💡 Encouraging writers who are still waiting for their “someday”
Erik’s work extends far beyond his own books. He serves as Marketing Manager for Crime Writers of Canada, President of the Tri-City Wordsmiths, and curator and host of Writers in Our Midst at the Port Moody Public Library.
His personal T-E-A tells us a little about the person behind the mysteries:
T — Truthful
E — Easygoing
A — Analytical
And his one-word description of himself?
Loyal.
In this episode, Miss Liz and Erik talk about why readers keep loving mysteries, what makes a compelling detective, and how writers can create stories that invite readers to become part of the investigation.
We also ask an important question for every aspiring writer:
What would you say to someone who has an unfinished manuscript sitting on their computer, waiting for the courage to finish it?
Because sometimes the biggest mystery isn't whodunit.
Sometimes it's discovering what happens when we finally decide to tell our story.

Caley Rose B Positive: Becoming One of the Brave Ones
2026/09/24
TEATIME WITH MISS LIZ — CALEY ROSE🎙️ B POSITIVE — BECOMING ONE OF THE BRAVE ONES
Billboard-charting pop singer-songwriter • Founder & CEO of Confident Concerts • Creator of M.A.D. Creators
What if being positive became more than just a mindset?
For Caley Rose, it started with something wonderfully fitting: her blood type is B positive. Today, those two words represent so much more than biology—they reflect a mission built around music, confidence, empowerment and turning pain into purpose.
Caley Rose is a Billboard-charting pop singer-songwriter, entrepreneur, educator, and the Founder and CEO of Confident Concerts, an initiative that uses music and creativity to help young people build confidence and address bullying.
After experiencing bullying herself during middle school, Caley began her own journey toward self-confidence. Rather than letting those experiences define her, she turned them into fuel to help others.
Through Confident Concerts, Caley says her programs have reached more than 15,000 students nationwide in three years, bringing together original music, live school assemblies, music classes and creative programming through M.A.D. Creators arts camp.
Her music has also reached audiences far beyond the classroom. Caley has released dozens of songs as an artist and songwriter, accumulated millions of streams through co-writes, and had her music featured across advertising, television, festivals, documentaries and video games.
But perhaps the most meaningful part of her musical journey is “Brave Ones.”
The song has connected with young people and members of the special-needs community who have embraced the message and proudly identified themselves as The Brave Ones.
During this Teatime conversation, Miss Liz and Caley explore:
🎵 Music as a tool for confidence and connection💙 The impact of bullying and finding your voice✨ Turning painful experiences into purpose🌱 Building self-confidence in young people🎤 The mission behind Confident Concerts🎨 M.A.D. Creators and the power of creativity🦋 What it means to be brave💫 Empowerment, authenticity and discovering your own identity❤️ The message behind becoming one of The Brave Ones
Favourite Colour: Blue 💙One Word: EmpoweredFrom: Buffalo, New York, USALiving: Los Angeles, California, USA
Caley's T-E-A:FINALLY • BRAVE • ONE
And that brings us to the question at the heart of this episode:
What does it take to finally recognize that you’ve been brave all along?
Imagine a child watching or listening right now who feels invisible.
Maybe they're being bullied.Maybe they don't fit into the popular group.Maybe they haven't discovered what they're good at yet.Maybe they've started believing the labels other people have placed on them.
What would you want that child to hear directly from Caley Rose?
Caley's story reminds us that confidence doesn't mean feeling insecure. Bravery doesn't mean living without fear. And positivity doesn't mean pretending difficult experiences never happened.
Sometimes bravery is taking something that once hurt you and refusing to let it become the final definition of who you are.
Caley experienced bullying. She searched for her own confidence. She found her voice through music—and today, she's using that voice to help thousands of young people discover theirs.
From Billboard charts and millions of streams to school assemblies, guitars in children's hands, M.A.D. Creators and The Brave Ones, this conversation explores what can happen when creativity meets purpose.

Monica Tanner BAD MARRIAGE ADVICE: Finding Connection Again
2026/09/22
☕ Teatime with Miss Liz — Monica Tanner
September 22nd, 2026 | 7 PM EST
Communication • Connection • Conflict Resolution • Commitment
What happens when two people love each other but slowly lose their connection?
What happens when partners stop talking, resentment builds, and a marriage begins to feel more like a shared living arrangement than a relationship?
Tonight on Teatime with Miss Liz, we’re talking about the messy, beautiful and sometimes difficult reality of relationships with Monica Tanner — Relationship Coach, Relational Life Therapy Certified professional, author and podcast host.
Monica’s mission is to help lower the divorce rate and help couples create marriages they actually enjoy living in.
Through relationship coaching, her Secrets of Happily Ever After podcast, her Amazon bestselling book Bad Marriage Advice, and her online community, Monica shares practical tools for communication, connection, conflict resolution and commitment.
This conversation isn't about creating the perfect marriage.
It's about learning what two imperfect people can do when they want to communicate better, repair what's been damaged, reconnect, and keep choosing one another.
Teaching • Relational • Empathy & Engagement
Tonight's conversation grows from those four ideas:
Teaching healthier relationships.
Building relational connection.
Leading with empathy.
Choosing engagement instead of disconnection.
Monica Tanner is a:
• Relationship Coach
• Relational Life Therapy Certified professional
• Author of Bad Marriage Advice
• Host of Secrets of Happily Ever After
• Relationship educator and advocate for healthier communication and connection
The title alone gives us plenty to talk about.
What relationship advice have we accepted simply because we've heard it over and over again?
What communication habits actually create more distance?
And what can couples do when they find themselves caught in resentment, conflict or what Monica describes as “roommate syndrome”?
We explore:
• Communication in long-term relationships
• Building and maintaining connection
• Conflict resolution
• Resentment and disconnection
• “Roommate syndrome”
• Marriage and commitment
• Repair after conflict
• Empathy and emotional engagement
• Listening and being heard
• Rediscovering curiosity about your partner
• Practical ways couples can reconnect
• The everyday choices that can strengthen a relationship
Someone may be listening tonight, sitting beside the person they love, while feeling completely alone.
They may not be ready to leave.
They may not want to give up.
They simply may not know how to find each other again.
So here's the question:
What is one small thing you can do tonight—not next month, not after reading ten books, but tonight—to begin moving toward connection again?
Relationships aren't built only through grand romantic gestures.
They're built in ordinary moments.
How we speak.
How we listen.
How we disagree.
How we apologize.
How we repair.
How we show empathy.
How we remain curious about someone we've known for years.
And how we continue choosing connection without losing ourselves.
Monica brings her T-R-E-E to the Teatime table:
Teaching.
Relational.
Empathy.
Engagement.
Perhaps relationships are much like trees.
They need roots.
They need attention.
They need nourishment.
They need room to grow.
And when branches become damaged, sometimes they need thoughtful repair.

Tommy Dee FANS FIRST: TAKING ON THE GIANTS OF LIVE ENTERTAINMENT
2026/09/22
☕ Teatime with Miss Liz — Tommy Dee
September 22nd, 2026 | 3 PM EST
Nightlife • Competition • Survival • Power • Persistence
This Teatime takes us behind the velvet rope and into the world of nightlife, live entertainment, independent promotion and the business forces that shape what audiences see on stage.
My guest is Tommy Dee, CEO of Juice Entertainment, independent promoter, competition advocate and nightlife pioneer. https://www.tommydjuiceentertainment.com/
Tommy began throwing underground parties at 16. His journey eventually took him into the heart of New Jersey nightlife, where he spent more than 15 years involved with some of the region’s best-known clubs, including Bliss.
But Tommy’s story extends far beyond nightlife.
After setting his sights on building a major music festival, Tommy says a business conflict turned into a legal battle that lasted about 15 years. His experiences led him to become an outspoken advocate for independent promoters and greater competition within the live-entertainment and ticketing industries.
At the Teatime table, Tommy shares his perspective on the challenges facing independent promoters, the concentration of power in entertainment, the risks of building a business, and why he believes fans should remain at the center of live entertainment.
We talk about:
• Tommy’s beginnings throwing underground parties at 16
• The evolution of New Jersey nightlife
• His years working in the nightclub industry
• Building Juice Entertainment
• The world of independent music promotion
• Competition in live entertainment
• The power and influence of major industry players
• The challenges of taking on much larger organizations
• Tommy’s account of a lengthy legal battle
• Entrepreneurship, persistence and survival
• The relationship between promoters, artists, venues and fans
• Ticketing and access to live entertainment
• Why independent promoters matter
• What the future could look like for competition in the entertainment industry
What happens when an independent entrepreneur enters an industry where much larger and more powerful players already dominate?
When do you keep fighting?
When do you change strategy?
And when is walking away actually the wiser business decision?
Tommy’s story opens the door to those questions—and invites us to look at the entertainment industry from the perspective of someone working behind the scenes.
When we buy a ticket, enter a venue and watch an artist take the stage, we see the finished experience.
Behind that experience is an entire ecosystem:
Artists. Promoters. Venues. Ticketing companies. Entertainment companies. And the fans.
This conversation explores what happens when those interests collide—and why competition and independent voices can become important parts of the discussion.
Tommy’s story is still unfolding, and some of the legal matters discussed involve disputed or ongoing issues. The conversation reflects Tommy’s experiences and perspective; legal responsibility and factual determinations in disputed matters belong to the appropriate courts and legal processes.
Welcome to Teatime with Miss Liz, where real stories, difficult conversations and different perspectives come together around one table.
Every guest brings a different flavour of T-E-A.
Today, Tommy Dee brings:
INDEPENDENCE.
COMPETITION.
FANS FIRST.
Grab your cup, settle in, and join Miss Liz for a conversation that goes behind the music, behind the ticket and behind the stage.

From Childhood Dream to Published Author — A-M Mawhiney

A-M Mawhiney September 21st, 2026 | 7 PM ESTAnne Marie Mawhiney Author of Spindrifts • Spelldrifts • Fugitive Rifts IT ONLY TOOK SIXTY YEARS Dreams Delayed • New Chapters • Imagination • Independence • Reinvention At eight years old, A-M Mawhiney announced that she wanted to become an author. Her wonderfully simple description of what happened next: “It only took sixty years.”After a career in social work, academia and university leadership, retirement opened a door—and the 2020 lockdown unexpectedly brought her childhood dream back to life. What began as returning to writing became Spindrifts, followed by Spelldrifts and Fugitive Rifts. This Teatime is about much more than books. It’s about the dreams that wait for us, the possibility of beginning again at any age, and discovering that sometimes the next chapter of our lives was quietly waiting to be written. Welcome to Teatime with Miss Liz, where every cup brings a different story, and every story reminds us that there is no expiration date on purpose. Tonight’s guest proves that beautifully. At just eight years old, A-M Mawhiney knew she wanted to be an author. Then life happened. Her professional journey took her into social work and later into academia, where she became a university professor and senior administrator. She retired in 2018. Then came 2020. During the first lockdown, A-M began writing again—and something unexpected happened. She wasn’t simply returning to an old hobby. She was finally becoming the author that eight-year-old girl had imagined. Her first novel, Spindrifts, arrived in 2021, became a finalist for the Rakuten Kobo Emerging Writers’ Prize, and was shortlisted for a Whistler Independent Book Award. Then came Spelldrifts in 2023. And in July 2025, Fugitive Rifts continued her writing journey. Tonight we’re talking about dreams that don’t disappear simply because decades pass. We’re talking about retirement, reinvention, imagination, independence, and what happens when we finally give ourselves permission to answer a calling we’ve carried since childhood. A-M describes herself with one word: Independent. And her life today?Fulfilling. Peaceful. Busy. A-M Mawhiney, welcome to Teatime with Miss Liz. Grab your cup, and let’s dig deep. FOOD FOR THOUGHT: A-M, you waited approximately sixty years between announcing your dream and publishing your first novel. But perhaps the dream wasn’t actually waiting. Perhaps you were gathering the life needed to write it. So for the person listening tonight who thinks they’ve missed their moment: How can they recognize the difference between a dream whose time has passed and a dream whose time has finally arrived? CLOSING SUMMARY: A-M, tonight you reminded us that life’s timeline isn’t always a straight line. At eight, you wanted to become an author. Life took you through social work.Education.Leadership.Retirement.And then, unexpectedly, a worldwide lockdown opened an old door. On the other side was a story. Then another. And another.Spindrifts.Spelldrifts.Fugitive Rifts. You describe yourself as independent. And you describe your life today as: Fulfilling. Peaceful. Busy. Those may be some of the most beautiful words we can use to describe a life—not because everything happened according to schedule, but because you continued becoming.Thank you, A-M Mawhiney, for bringing your story and your books to the Teatime table. Joshua brings together faith, music, education, community outreach, and advocacy in a conversation that asks us to look beyond labels and explore what happens when our beliefs become part of how we live, serve, and treat others.
Born in Zaragoza, Spain, raised in Spokane, Washington, and now living in Buena Park, California, Joshua's journey has taken him through education, ministry, music and activism.
He is a former middle school and high school mathematics teacher, pastor, singer, musician and songwriter.
Joshua is the author of Preaching and Persecution in Sin City!, a book recounting his experiences bringing his Christian faith into public life and the challenges he says he encountered along the way.
He is also the producer of A Brighter Day (A Medley of Songs), bringing his message into the world through music.
His work includes outreach and advocacy concerning homelessness, poverty, shelter, affordable housing and human dignity.
Joshua wasn't sure how to place his work into three T-E-E words, so Miss Liz serves his cup based directly on the themes he shared:
T — TRUTH
Bringing his understanding of biblical truth and faith into conversations about today's culture.
E — EVANGELISM
Sharing the Gospel through preaching, writing, music and community outreach.
E — EMPATHY
Serving people experiencing homelessness and poverty while advocating for shelter, affordable housing and human dignity.
Together, these ideas create a conversation about what it means to live out one's convictions while staying engaged with the needs of others.
Joshua and Miss Liz explore:
• Faith beyond the traditional walls of the church
• Turning belief into action and service
• Homelessness, poverty and human dignity
• Advocacy for shelter and affordable housing
• The role of music and songwriting in sharing a message
• Education and Joshua's experience as a mathematics teacher
• Christian faith and public life
• Perseverance through disagreement and adversity
• Evangelism, outreach and community
• The relationship between conviction, compassion and service
• What it means to love our neighbour
This is a conversation about faith and action, conviction and compassion, education, music, advocacy and perseverance.
Welcome to the Teatime table, R. Joshua Collins.
Grab your cup — and let's dig deep.
"What we believe becomes most powerful when it leaves our words and enters our actions. Whatever faith, purpose or truth we carry, let the way we serve another human being show what lives within us."
— Miss Liz
Love • Service • Advocacy • Perseverance
Thank you, Joshua, for bringing your faith, experiences, music and advocacy to the Teatime table and sharing your perspective on what it means to put belief into action.
Teatime with Miss Liz brings people and stories to the table for meaningful conversations about life, experiences, differences, challenges, triumphs, beliefs and the things we don't always talk about.
Every guest brings their own T-E-A — Teaching Educational Awareness — creating opportunities to listen, learn, ask questions, and understand perspectives that may differ from our own.

Miss Liz Serves Peter McLaughlin BlueSky Hypnosis From Survival To Self Discovery
2026/09/17
Exploring the Mind • Healing the Past • Reclaiming the Self
Tonight on Teatime with Miss Liz, we welcome Peter McLaughlin — Certified Hypnotherapist, Life Coach, creator of BlueSky Hypnosis, actor, and former volunteer firefighter and EMT.
Peter brings a fascinating T-E-A to the table — one shaped by a life-changing leukemia diagnosis, an exploration of the mind, body and spirit, years of helping others explore deeply rooted patterns, emergency service, and a return to the theatrical stage after 22 years as Shakespeare's King Lear.
His journey raises a powerful question:
What happens when the life we thought we knew changes—and we're forced to look within?
Peter's guiding philosophy invites us to explore how our internal experiences can influence how we understand and respond to the world around us.
His work includes hypnotherapy, regression, Havening, coaching and spiritually oriented approaches to personal growth and healing.
Peter's journey into this work began following a leukemia diagnosis in 2003. That experience led him to explore the connection between mind, spirit, and well-being, and eventually to professional hypnotherapy and life coaching.
Peter also created BlueSky Hypnosis, a YouTube channel his official website says has more than 130,000 subscribers and 17 million views.
But Peter's story has many chapters.
He spent years serving his community as a volunteer firefighter and EMT.
He is also an actor.
And after 22 years away from the stage, Peter is returning to the theatrical world to take on one of Shakespeare's most demanding roles:
King Lear.
Tonight, we explore the mind, personal experience, trauma, spirituality, memory, belief, transformation, and the courage it takes to return to something we once loved.
If someone watching tonight feels trapped by something that happened years ago and believes their past has already determined the rest of their story:
What would you want them to know before they give their past that much power over their future?
Our conversation moves from serious illness to exploring mind, body, and spirit.
From emergency response to emotional healing.
From hypnosis and regression to questions about memory, spirituality and personal meaning.
From reaching people through BlueSky Hypnosis to stepping back onto a theatrical stage after 22 years.
And perhaps these chapters aren't as disconnected as they first appear.
A firefighter enters situations requiring presence.
A hypnotherapist asks people to look inward.
An actor enters another person's story.
And someone who has faced a life-changing diagnosis understands how quickly life can ask us to reconsider what matters.
Peter's phrase for tonight is:
As Within • So Without.
But part of that lesson may be recognizing that we don't control everything that happens around us.
We can keep exploring how we respond, what meaning we give our experiences, what support we seek, and what we choose to do with the life in front of us.
Peter McLaughlin, thank you for bringing your story, questions, experiences and fire to the Teatime table.
Thank you for pouring your T-E-A.
"Looking within isn't about blaming ourselves for what happened to us. It's about discovering what we still have the power to choose — how we respond, what we carry forward, what we release, and who we decide to become next."
— Miss Liz

Miss Liz Serves Victoria Joseph Birds Of A Feather Matchmaking
2026/09/17
Trust • Exploration • Authenticity: Creating Relationships Through Honesty, Consent & Connection
In this episode of Teatime with Miss Liz, we welcome Victoria Joseph — Certified Professional Matchmaker, Dating Strategist, Founder & President of Birds of a Feather Matchmaking, U.S. Navy Veteran, ENM Educator, Community Builder, Speaker, Writer and Event Host.
Victoria specializes in ethical non-monogamy (ENM) and founded Birds of a Feather Matchmaking, a specialty boutique matchmaking firm serving people exploring ethically non-monogamous, open, polyamorous and swinger/lifestyle relationships.
With more than 10 years of personal experience with non-monogamy, Victoria brings both professional expertise and lived experience to an important conversation about relationships, communication, consent, boundaries, trust and authenticity.
Her work goes beyond matchmaking. Victoria is also a Dating Strategist for men entering ENM spaces, helping clients better understand communication, expectations, authenticity and how to navigate these communities respectfully and confidently.
As an educator, community builder, thought leader, writer, speaker and event host, Victoria works to create space for open and respectful conversations about consensual non-monogamy.
At the heart of her message are principles that can apply to relationships of every kind:
Honesty. Communication. Consent. Boundaries. Trust.
Before becoming an entrepreneur and matchmaker, Victoria served in the United States Navy, bringing another dimension of leadership, trust, responsibility and human connection to her life's work.
What would you say to someone listening who recognizes themselves in this conversation but has been afraid to talk about their relationship needs for fear of judgment?
And what would you say to someone who doesn't personally understand or agree with non-monogamy but wants to become better at respecting people whose relationships look different from their own?
Today's conversation isn't about convincing anyone to choose one relationship structure over another.
It's about understanding.
Putting the word ethical in front of something doesn't make it ethical.
Our behaviour does.
It's found in honesty.
It's found in communication.
It's found in informed consent.
It's found in respecting a person's yes — and respecting their no.
Victoria's T-E-A brought three important words to the table:
Trust. Exploration. Authenticity.
Trust asks us to create emotional safety.
Exploration asks us to remain curious without forcing someone else to follow us.
And authenticity asks us to be truthful about who we are while remembering that another person's authenticity matters just as much as our own.
Whether someone chooses monogamy, ethical non-monogamy, polyamory, an open relationship, the lifestyle — or chooses to remain single — the labels themselves don't determine whether a relationship is healthy.
How we treat one another does.
Victoria Joseph, thank you for bringing a different conversation to the Teatime table and giving us an opportunity to replace assumptions with education.
Thank you for pouring your T-E-A.
"Love can take different forms, but respect should never lose its meaning. Trust requires truth, exploration requires consent, and authenticity requires giving others the same freedom to be honest that we ask for ourselves."
— Miss Liz

Miss Liz Serves Returning Guest Glenda Benevides Soul On Fire
2026/09/15
Teatime Guest: Glenda Benevides September 15th, 2026 | 7 PM EST SOUL ON FIRE — Music • Story • Transformation GRAMMY®-Nominated Singer-Songwriter • Author • Transformational Performer • Creator of Soul On Fire. Returning to the Teatime with Miss Liz table is Glenda Benevides, and this conversation is about more than music. It is about finding the fire inside yourself—and having the courage to act on it. Through her immersive, transformational experience Soul On Fire, Glenda combines original music, cinematic visuals, storytelling, reflection, and audience participation to create something that sits between a concert, keynote, and transformational workshop. Her message is powerful: “Soul On Fire is about remembering who you are before the world told you who to be.”Glenda’s own journey gives those words weight. From periods of homelessness and sleeping on couches without a support system to building an international creative career, she has continued transforming adversity into expression. Her creative journey includes seven albums, four books, podcasts, a screenplay, a musical and international performances across Asia and Europe. Her work has also earned recognition, including a GRAMMY® nomination and music awards. But this returning Teatime is about where that journey has brought her now. It’s about Soul On Fire. Courage. Voice. Purpose. Self-expression. Action. Favourite colour: Purple
One word: Passionate. Her T-E-A:
T — Trust
E — Embody
A — ActionLearn more through Glenda Benevides' official website.behind them. Returning to my table is Glenda Benevides, a GRAMMY®-nominated singer-songwriter, author and transformational performer whose life and career have been built through creativity, persistence and a refusal to silence her authentic voice. Tonight, Glenda brings us into Soul On Fire, her immersive experience combining music, storytelling, multimedia, and personal transformation. But behind the production is a deeply human question: What happens when we stop living as the person the world expects us to be and remember who we actually are? Glenda has known uncertainty. She’s known what it means to rebuild. She’s experienced homelessness and the struggle of creating without a traditional support system. She’s also experienced international stages, recognition, awards, and the power of watching something once living only inside her become something that reaches other people. Tonight we’re digging into all of it—the music, the woman behind the music, courage, dyslexia and creativity, commitment, community, authentic expression and what it actually takes to turn inspiration into action. Glenda, welcome back to Teatime with Miss Liz. You brought your fire back to the table. Glenda, tonight we’ve talked about much more than becoming successful. We’ve talked about becoming fully expressed. There is a difference. Success can give us recognition. But self-expression asks us to know ourselves when nobody is applauding. Your journey has moved through uncertainty, homelessness, creativity, music, international stages, recognition, books, storytelling and now an immersive experience designed to help someone else recognize their own inner fire. And perhaps that’s what Soul On Fire really represents. Not becoming someone new. But removing enough fear, expectation and outside noise to recognize the person who has been there all along.Thank you, Glenda Benevides, for returning to my table and bringing another chapter of your journey with you. Keep trusting. Keep embodying. Keep taking action. And most importantly—keep that soul on fire. Your fire doesn’t have to burn the way it once did to still be alive. Sometimes transformation begins with one small spark—the courage to trust yourself, embody your truth, and take the next action.” — Miss Liz

Miss Liz Serves Wendy Jensen Scandinavian Hearts Connecting Generations and Heritage with Children Stories
2026/09/15
Teatime Guest: Wendy Jensen September 15th, 2026 | 3 PM ESTFounder of Scandinavian Hearts • E-Commerce Expert • Best-Selling Children’s
FROM CORPORATE SUCCESS TO SCANDINAVIAN HEARTS
Motherhood • Heritage • Reinvention • Building a Business That Connects Generations. On September 15th at 3 PM EST, Teatime with Miss Liz welcomes Wendy Jensen of Scandinavian Hearts for a conversation about what happens when success no longer feels like enough—and purpose begins calling you somewhere new. Wendy brings more than 20 years of e-commerce experience, but one of the biggest transformations of her life didn’t begin in a boardroom. It began with motherhood. Becoming a mom made Wendy look at the life and career she had built differently. She began questioning whether her accomplishments reflected the person she was becoming. That questioning eventually took her away from a high-level corporate executive career and toward something deeply connected to her identity and heritage: Scandinavian Hearts. Today, her work brings together culture, family, storytelling, entrepreneurship and belonging, creating ways for generations to connect with Scandinavian heritage. Her journey also opened another door—children’s literature. Wendy became a best-selling children’s author, with four books and counting, creating stories that celebrate identity, culture and belonging. This Teatime isn’t simply about leaving corporate life to start a business. It’s about asking: Can reinvention actually bring us closer to who we’ve always been? Welcome to Teatime with Miss Liz, where every guest brings their own story, experiences and lessons to the table. Sometimes transformation begins because something goes wrong. But sometimes transformation begins because something goes beautifully right—and suddenly changes how we see everything else. For my guest Wendy Jensen, that moment was becoming a mother. Wendy had spent more than two decades developing expertise in e-commerce and building a successful corporate career. But motherhood opened a different conversation within her. Who am I becoming? What do I want my children to know about where they come from? And does the life I’ve built still represent the life I want to live? Those questions eventually gave birth to Scandinavian Hearts, a business rooted in Wendy’s heritage and built around something much larger than products: Connection. Connection between generations.Connection to culture.Connection to family stories. And connection to ourselves. She has also carried that mission into children’s literature, becoming a best-selling children’s author who wants young readers to see identity, heritage and belonging celebrated through stories. Today we’re talking about motherhood, entrepreneurship, cultural roots, reinvention and what happens when professional expertise meets personal purpose.
Wendy’s story reminds us that reinvention doesn’t necessarily mean throwing away everything we’ve already built. Sometimes we carry it forward differently. Twenty years of professional knowledge didn’t disappear when Wendy changed direction. It became a tool. Her heritage became a foundation. Motherhood became a catalyst. Storytelling became another bridge. And Scandinavian Hearts became a way of bringing those pieces together. That is something important for anyone sitting at a crossroads. You don’t necessarily have to know exactly where you’re going before you begin questioning where you are. Sometimes the first step toward a different life is simply being willing to ask: Does the life I’ve built still reflect who I’m becoming? Wendy Jensen, thank you for bringing your experience, your Scandinavian heritage, your entrepreneurial journey and your heart to my table. Reinvention doesn’t erase where you’ve been. Sometimes it gathers every piece of your journey and finally gives it a place to belong.” — Miss Liz

Miss Liz Serves Dr. Olaf Kroneman DETROIT HEROIC
2026/09/11
Dr. Olaf Kroneman September 11th, 2026 | 3 PM EST Detroit HeroicMedicine • History • Women’s Voices • Moral Courage • Patient Advocacy Title: DETROIT HEROIC: When Doing What Is Right Comes at a Cost Subtitle:
Medicine, Misogyny & Moral Courage — Who Speaks Up When the System Fails the Patient? On September 11th at 3 PM EST, Teatime with Miss Liz welcomes Dr. Olaf Kroneman, a physician in private practice in the Detroit metropolitan area and author of the historical thriller Detroit Heroic. Set against the 1967 Detroit rebellion, Detroit Heroic uses fiction to examine difficult questions surrounding medicine, women’s healthcare, racial injustice, institutional power, patient advocacy and what happens when professionals must decide whether to conform to a flawed system or challenge it. The title speaks directly to the book’s central idea: What does it actually mean to be heroic? For Dr. Kroneman, heroism isn’t simply an extraordinary act. It can be the courage to remain morally grounded when doing so carries personal or professional consequences. At the center of the book’s cover is another important Detroit story—the Spirit of Detroit, sculpted by Marshall Fredericks and dedicated in 1958. Dr. Kroneman has a personal connection to the sculptor: Fredericks and his Danish immigrant grandfather were close friends, and Fredericks delivered the eulogy at his grandfather’s funeral. The statue, the city, the physician, and the woman represented on the cover come together to frame a larger conversation: Who gets heard?
Who gets believed?
Who gets protected?
And what responsibility do we have when a system stops seeing the human being standing in front of it? TEATIME INTRODUCTION Welcome to Teatime with Miss Liz, where we don’t shy away from difficult history or difficult questions. Today we’re going to Detroit. Not simply Detroit as a location—but Detroit as a character.A city of struggle.A city of resilience.A city of history. And a city that has deeply influenced my guest, physician and author Dr. Olaf Kroneman. His historical thriller, Detroit Heroic, takes us into the world of medicine during the turbulent period surrounding the 1967 Detroit rebellion. But this isn’t only a conversation about the past. We’re going to talk about what happens when patients—particularly women and people from marginalized communities—feel dismissed, disbelieved or unheard. We’re going to discuss medical authority, institutional culture, moral courage and the responsibility that comes with caring for another human being. And we’re going to ask a question that reaches far beyond medicine: When you know something is wrong, are you willing to stand against the system you’re part of? Dr. Kroneman, welcome to Teatime with Miss Liz. Grab your cup, and let’s dig deep. Today’s conversation isn’t about saying every healthcare professional fails their patients or that every institution is broken. It’s about something more important: Accountability. Medicine is built on knowledge, science and expertise—but healthcare happens between human beings. And when someone walks through a medical door frightened, hurting or searching for answers, listening matters. History matters too. Because examining where institutions failed people isn’t about remaining trapped in the past. It’s about asking whether we’ve learned enough from it to do better in the present. Detroit Heroic challenges us to think about the people who choose integrity when conformity would be easier—the people willing to ask questions, listen more carefully, and speak when silence would protect them. Dr. Olaf Kroneman, thank you for bringing medicine, history, Detroit and this conversation about moral courage to my table.
“Heroism isn’t always saving someone in a dramatic moment. Sometimes it’s believing the person everyone else dismissed—and having the courage to speak when silence would be easier.” — Miss Liz
