North Korea claims they have successfully tested a new submarine-launched ballistic missile with 'advanced guidance technology'. It is the latest in what has been a flurry of missile tests by that Pyongyang include long range and hypersonic weapons. Even before COVID-19 began there was a shortage of truck drivers in the United States and with the lack of training during the pandemic the situation has gotten worse. Issues of unloading container ships remains a major problem but the issue of getting goods to consumers starts with a shortage of trucks transporting those goods. A record number of American workers are leaving their jobs, adding to the nationwide labor shortage. There are multiple factors being attributed to this but what is clear is jobs are plentiful and companies are competing for the most experienced applicants. President Biden’s commission that researched the prospect of expanding the U.S. Supreme Court has come back divided on the issue dealing a blow to progressive dreams of growing the court. Conservatives currently have a 6-3 advantage but current polls show the majority of Americans don't like the idea of adding justices. The Food and Drug Administration’s vaccine advisory panel today endorsed the use of Moderna’s COVID-19 booster shot for the elderly and others at high risk because of possible exposure at their jobs or they have underlying health factors. The vote was 19-0 but the recommendation is not final and will go before the FDA to issue an official decision. Blue Origin launched their second suborbital space flight today as the billionaire space race heats up. The eleven minute flight had four passengers in it including ninety year-old Star Trek actor, William Shatner. It was a nightmare travel weekend for Southwest Airlines passengers as thousands of flights were canceled across the country. There have been various reasons given for the delays from weather to an internal fight over pilots being vaccinated. There has been a steady increase in suicides among United States Military members over the past five years. A recent Pentagon report says military suicide rates are up by 15% in just the last year.
