Aaron Wilmoth was born and raised in south Louisiana. He has been an inshore and offshore guide in Venice for many years now. This past February he guided the boat that broke the record for the largest yellowfin tuna in the gulf at 272lbs!  I decided to have him on my podcast to tell us the full story!  Enjoy!

Captain Jerry Murphy has been commercial fishing his entire life. In 1992, when he was the captain of the ‘mistake’, he found the El Cazador, a Spanish ship wreck that sank in 1784. After finding the treasure, they did 3 different excavation efforts and recovered over 12,000 pounds of silver coins from the wreck site!  Captain Jerry Murphy was an incredible story teller. In the beginning, he tells a story about how he capsized a vessel that he built, and after that he gets into how he became the captain of the mistake and how he ended up finding the treasure! Enjoy!

Andy Fountain comes from a long line of boat builders here along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He did the bulk of restoring my boat, the Lily Faith, which is a 1954 fully wooden 50’ Biloxi lugger by Cavocavich. I loved hearing Andy talk about the boat and hearing how he grew up working on wooden boats with his family.
