HIV remains underdiagnosed among men in many settings, contributing to ongoing transmission. When women seek care during pregnancy, there is an opportunity to reach out to their partners. Home-based couples testing and counselling can help to identify HIV and discuss other health issues. Some people on HIV treatment have a viral load that won't fully suppress. Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) increasingly represent a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among people with HIV. People with HIV are at high risk of developing NCDs, often at younger ages and more severely than people without HIV.
