Energy Transition from carbon-intensive sources to clean energy supply is imminent for limiting the global average rise in temperature to 1.5C to 2C. This transition is dependent on a lot of variables, one of them being technological advancements, deployments and adoptions. This episode discusses current standing of Global Carbon Budget.  - Global Carbon Budget indicates the maximum amount of CO2 (cumulative) emissions that can be released in the atmosphere to limit the rise in global average temperature to 1.5 C and 2C by 2100.  - For 50-50 % chance of staying within 1.5C as per the sources mentioned in the episode, the budget is 380Gt which can be depleted in 9 years, with current levels of emissions. - SSP represent Shared Socioeconomic Pathways.
