Send Tim a message about this episode Artie and Hudson move into the drawing room for another chapter of The Artie & Hudson Show. This time, the conversation turns to the Mess, old Army friends and questions that start to feel just a little too specific. Tim begins noticing that supposedly casual conversations keep circling back to routes, borders, delays and Petra. At the same time, Petra realises that parts of her old life may not be as far behind her as she thought. When people know things they probably should not know, coincidence starts to look rather less convincing. Send Tim a message about this episode Artie and Hudson are back in the garden, and this time the conversation turns to something rather less innocent. Tim has started noticing familiar faces, repeated encounters, strange questions and connections that seem just a little too convenient. Meanwhile, Petra is attracting interest of her own, including attention linked to Hereford and MI6. At first, it all looks like coincidence. But when different parts of their lives begin overlapping, Tim starts to wonder whether something much bigger is going on. Join Artie and Hudson for another chapter of The Artie & Hudson Show, where books, memories, mystery and a little dry humour all meet around the table. Send Tim a message about this episode Episode 10 of The Artie & Hudson Show takes Tim and Petra back onto the road, this time with a much longer journey ahead of them. A run carrying bearings for Ford in Istanbul introduces them to experienced driver Lars Nyberg, a man who knows the route, the borders and the paperwork exceptionally well. Perhaps a little too well. As Artie tells the story and Hudson asks the obvious questions, a few small details begin to suggest that this may be more than just another European haulage job. After the wedding at Franklin Gardens, Tim’s comments about the scrum-half do not simply disappear. Once people realise he actually knows what he is talking about, the questions keep coming. What starts as one observation soon turns into positioning, timing, rugby experience and Tim doing what he has always done best: getting involved when he had every intention of staying out of it. Back in the kitchen at Old Heale Manor, Artie and Hudson take a suitably dry look at Tim’s relationship with rugby, retirement and his remarkable inability to leave well alone. Send Tim a message about this episode Tim and Petra look back at the years when their friendship became something much deeper. From school trouble and letters between England and Sweden, to rugby, family chaos, speaking Swedish just to wind Phoebe up, and the moment Tim began finding his direction again. Send Tim a message about this episode Artie and Hudson continue their journey through The Empty Return, and this time the title itself starts to make rather more sense. What could possibly go wrong with an empty truck? Quite a lot, as it turns out. And, as Artie points out, they are only just getting started. Send Tim a message about this episode Tim and Petra sit down together to explain one of the central ideas behind The Parallel Six: the birth bond. For as long as either of them can remember, the other was already there in dreams, familiar before they ever properly met. When they finally did stand face to face, it did not feel like meeting a stranger. It felt like recognition. In this quiet conversation, they talk about that connection, the certainty that there would never really be anyone else, and how they eventually came to understand the strange bond that had always linked them. This episode also connects directly with the wider world of The Parallel Six, The Empty Return, and The Artie & Hudson Show. Send Tim a message about this episode Artie and Hudson continue their journey through The Empty Return. Tim and Petra have settled in Ellös, Sweden, and Tim has finally retired from the Army. In theory, life should now be quieter. In practice, Tim was never going to be very good at doing nothing. Before long he is driving big Volvos across Europe, discovering that retirement looks suspiciously like changing uniforms, and using his truly dreadful attempts at foreign languages to persuade people to speak English instead. Artie and Hudson take a suitably dry look at Tim and Petra’s new life, and at the point where a supposedly peaceful retirement starts becoming rather more interesting. Send Tim a message about this episode Tim and Petra thought retirement in Sweden might finally mean a quieter life. They were wrong. In this episode of The Artie & Hudson Show, the boys begin exploring The Empty Return by Tim Heale, starting with the first seemingly innocent threads that begin to pull Tim and Petra back towards something far more complicated. A driving test, an unexpected opportunity, new work, new friends and a rugby club all seem harmless enough on their own. But, as Artie points out, trouble rarely announces itself properly at the beginning. No major spoilers here. Just enough to give you a taste of where the story starts heading. The Empty Return continues the lives of characters from The Parallel Six later in life, when retirement proves to be rather more complicated than expected. Send Tim a message about this episode Noor Inayat Khan was one of the most remarkable secret agents of the Second World War. A descendant of Indian royalty, a musician and children's author, Noor might have seemed an unlikely candidate for clandestine warfare. Yet she volunteered to serve Britain, joined the Special Operations Executive and was sent into occupied France as a wireless operator — one of the most dangerous jobs in SOE. Operating under the codename **Madeleine**, Noor remained in Paris as the network around her collapsed and the Gestapo closed in. Captured and repeatedly interrogated, she refused to cooperate. After imprisonment in Germany, she was taken to Dachau concentration camp and murdered in September 1944. She was just 30 years old. In this episode of **Stories Behind the Pages**, Tim Heale tells Noor Inayat Khan's extraordinary story — from her unusual upbringing and wartime service to her courage in occupied France, her capture and the legacy she left behind. Noor was posthumously awarded the **George Cross** and France's **Croix de Guerre avec étoile de vermeil**. Her story is one of courage, determination and loyalty in the face of unimaginable danger. **Stories Behind the Pages** explores the real people, events and history behind some of the books and films that have kept these extraordinary stories alive. 🌐 timheale.uk #NoorInayatKhan, #SOE, #WWII, #SecondWorldWar, #SecretAgent, #WomenAtWar, #MilitaryHistory, #StoriesBehindThePages Discover The Parallel Six series, Letters from Afghanistan and The Empty Return at https://timheale.uk.
