In collaboration with international think tanks, Iceland have successfully completed trials of a reduced hours working week, the largest of its kind in the world. The trials, in which workers were paid the same amount for shorter hours, took place between 2015 and 2019. Productivity remained the same or improved in the majority of workplaces, researchers said. Now it has been reported that around 85% of the country have the option of working reduced hours. But what does that mean for hospitals? Is it possible? Is it safe? What do the Doctors Don't Talk gang think? Would they like to see that implemented in the UK?

The doctors have come to the end of their foundation training. Each has found a new job in a different city and it will be some time before they get the chance to see each other again. Will this be the end of the pod? Or will they be back with another season?..

Nik, Med, Ayo and Emezie open up about how working as junior doctors has affected their own mental health and how that has further impacted their personal and professional lives. Not all change is bad but it is difficult. The team have a think about how change has affected them over the past 7 years of training. 

The gang talk tough realities. Restrictions are letting up but for some people they have never had the impact they needed to. BAME communities have had one arm behind their backs in this fight and the numbers are staggering. People are finally taking notice, but should it have taken a pandemic for us to remember that Black Lives Matter?

The docs chat about Covid-19 and its origins, what they've heard about it and what they've been told. They discuss where they think lockdown is going and what gives them hope for the future. 

In episode one, the group share what has changed over the last few weeks of lockdown, how their home and work life has been affected and where they think it’ll go from here. They helpfully bust some common corona related myths and share some of their most defining cases so far.
