Kyrie Irving is opting into his $36.5 million option with the Brooklyn Nets for next season, he told The Athletic on Monday. "Normal people keep the world going, but those who dare to be different lead us into tomorrow," Irving told The Athletic. "I've made my decision to opt in. See you in the fall. A11even." Irving had created a list of teams he would have liked the Nets to consider working with on a sign-and-trade if they couldn't agree on terms for him to stay in Brooklyn, but the Los Angeles Lakers were the only known team to be interested, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Without the ability to find a sign-and-trade deal, Irving decided to exercise his player option, sources confirmed. He had until Wednesday to make a decision. Irving is now no longer eligible for a sign-and-trade. The Nets could still work to trade him as an expiring contract, but Irving would have no formal voice in a potential landing spot. A seven-time All-Star and three-time All-NBA selection, Irving has averaged 27.1 points and 6 assists while shooting 49% from the field and 40.6% from 3 over the last three seasons. After weeks of anticipation, Chris Brown is releasing his new album BREEZYtomorrow night. Davido also travelled to American to finish up the song in preparation for its imminent release. Rappers Lil Nas X and NBA YoungBoy have joined forces for a new track. On “Late To Da Party,” produced by Take A Daytrip, Lil Nas X takes aim at the 2022 BET Awards, which he didn’t receive any nominations for this year. Lil Nas X began teasing the song earlier this week with a roughly 30-second teaser advertising live performances from him and NBA YoungBoy at the awards show, calling it “culture’s biggest night.” The rapper had a breakthrough year with two top singles, “Industry Baby” with Jack Harlow and “Montero [Call Me By Your Name].” His debut album Montero was also certified platinum. Microsoft Gaming has confirmed that the Starfield release date is set for the first half of 2023. The new RPG was originally scheduled to release on November 11, 2022, although a Starfield delay was announced back in May. At the time, developer Bethesda said that the Starfield release date had been moved as it wants to achieve its "incredible ambitions" for the game, explaining that it wants us to "receive the best, most polished version" of the experience. Starfield is an ambitious new experience from Bethesda Game Studios, the developer responsible for Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim – you know, two of the best RPG games of all-time. While the studio's previous efforts have been pretty grounded affairs, typically set across a single, continuous landscape, Starfield is set to be bigger and bolder than anything we've seen from Bethesda before. Rapper Lil Tjay is undergoing emergency surgery after being shot ... TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Tjay was shot just after midnight in Edgewater, NJ. We're told at the time of this post the rapper is in surgery. The extent of his wounds and his condition have not been revealed. We're told there were 2 shooting sites -- one at a Chipotle Restaurant and another at a nearby Exxon Gas station. The suspect or suspects are still at large and police are on the hunt. So far, the motive is unknown. The late artist has surpassed 25 total billion streams on Spotify across all credits. He’s now one of less than 20 musicians to earn this milestone on the platform. Juice WRLD’s catalog has 4 albums, two of which were released posthumously after his death in late 2019. “Goodbye & Good Riddance [2018]”, “Death Race For Love [2019]”, “Legends Never Die [2020]”, and last year’s “Fighting Demons“. His first posthumous project “Legends Never Die” is the only hip-hop album on Spotify with most songs with over 100 million streams. This week, the late rapper’s breakout single, “All Girls Are The Same,” broke a new milestone on Spotify, surpassing 1 billion streams.
