Description

A site about Community, Mental Health, Meditation, Martial Arts, Sharing Ideas and Having Fun! Eternal Spring is a place where people come together to promote a safe, friendly and caring community. A place where we can be ourselves, tell our stories, and say what’s on our mind. The show’s main focus is mental health, spreading awareness of the commonplaceness of mental health problems, and promoting a community that removes the stigma of mental health problems, so people feel more comfortable talking about issues before they get too advanced. We share the good times, the hard times, the fun times and the whacky times, as and when we feel comfortable to do so! We also share our hobbies and interests, things that other people could try as an escape or coping aid, we talk about the good that is still happening in the world, share little bits of bitesize knowledge to encourage us to keep going, and also our gratitude for those that are there for ourselves and others.

Introducing Talking Therapy, and the Curiosity of Earworms
2021/06/26
In episode 7 we talk about talking therapy. Talking therapies are treatments which involve talking to a trained professional about thoughts, feelings or behaviour.  We’ll be asking the questions: What is talking therapy? When should talking therapy be considered? How can it work? Are there any misconceptions about talking therapy? As a non-therapist, can I still help? You can find out more via the pdf: https://www.mind.org.uk/media-a/2896/talking-therapy-and-counselling-2018.pdf In Ray of Sunshine, we talk about research into Earworms (songs that get stuck in your head) and what your brain is actually doing when you hear them. This leads on to research into music therapy to treat memory loss and dementia.  You can read the full article via the link below:  https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/that-song-is-stuck-in-your-head-but-its-helping-you-to-remember/ In Bitesize, we talk about UK Tang Soo Do Federation Basic Principle no. 2 - Obedience to Parents and Elders.  If you enjoy the show, you can show your support in many ways: leave a review - or just tell your friends about it!  Thank you.

We get to know Ian and listen in awe, as he tells us how he manages to juggle his work life balance and keep himself in a healthy state whilst starting new business ventures, home schooling and keeping himself fit and healthy!  We talk about the problems that have been associated with Remote Therapy in the Mind report "Trying to Connect", which talks about the pros and cons of therapy delivered over the phone or via video call.  We discuss some of the useful statistics that have come to light over the commonness of mental health issues, and also how we can look at removing the stigma of talking about a mental health problem.  We discuss saving swans in a Ray of Sunshine! We share the first bitesize article on the Basic Principles in Martial Arts.  We suggest some new things to try in Give it a Go, including fishing, and growing tomatoes!
