Description

This podcast is hosted by the women’s ministry of Harvest Bible Church in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Our mission is to glorify God by making Him known to a culture that’s been turned upside down. We have a passion to begin bringing biblical reform to womanhood, by helping women think Christianly in all seasons of life. We break down current trends and seek to bring biblical clarity to those challenges. Above all, Our prayer is that this podcast will help women know God and worship God, resulting in transformed hearts and minds. And we all with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18)

Ep 124: Relationships 101: A better understanding of how God speaks
2026/09/07
There can be a lot of sentimental ideas of how God speaks to people today.  We aren't claiming to know it all, but hopefully this episode will give you a better understanding of how God is communicating with you. We discuss the following: 1. There are some pretty dramatic examples in the Bible of the Lord getting people’s attention and speaking to them. Let’s talk about some of them. 2. Does the Lord still speak so dramatically to us now?  Why do you think this is? 3. How easily can we be deceived into thinking that God is speaking to us? 4. How can we make sure that what we are hearing is from the Lord? 5. If we are seeking an answer from the Lord for something, but we aren’t getting it, what steps should we take? 6. How should we respond when someone tells us that “The Lord told me” or “the Spirit is leading me to” and it doesn’t seem quite right what they say next. Maybe it’s not blatantly wrong but something seems off. 7.  Does God answer the prayers of unbelievers?  Does He speak to them too? 8. Does the Lord speak to those who are living in unrepentant sin? 9. How has the Lord answered some of your prayers? 10. Have you ever had a strong sense that the Lord was telling you something specific Susie?
Ep 123: Relationships 101| Church Hurt
2026/08/18
Being hurt by people and organizations is nothing new.  But the term "church hurt" has definately gained popularity in recent years.  What is that all about and how should we respond, if we have been hurt by people in the church? Listen in as we discuss the following questions. 1. Is "church hurt" a new thing that seems to have popped up or has it been around but has a new label? 2. How should can we respond to someone who says that they left their previous church because of “church hurt”? 3. Do we see any examples of people getting hurt by the church in Scripture?   4. Do you think that this is part of a bigger problem in society where people give up too quickly when things get difficult?  5. How should conflict be handled within the church? 6. Do you think that a lot of what is being blamed as church hurt is really something else?  Is it an easy way out? 7. How much influence should preference have in our decision to stay or leave a church? 8. What would be an example of where the church was at fault and maybe used their authority in an inappropriate way?  How should someone respond in a situation like this? 9. At what point should someone leave a church if they have been legitimately hurt or offended?  What should they do before they walk away?  Is there a right way and a wrong way to handle this? 10. How can someone overcome being hurt by the church?
