We've done it again, gang! We've completed another book and in this episode we discuss the events of the climax as well as the book as a whole. Among other things we see Egwene finally stake her claim on the real Amyrlin Seat, in the White Tower. She deals with the Tower and rebel Aes sedai in a very fair but stern way, but sets them up for success in the last battle. Rand is having a tougher time of things. Faced with his adoptive father he is pushed to the limits of what he can bear and almost does two terrible things. He pulls himself back at just the right moment and ends up on Dragonmount to contemplate what is happening. Luckliy for us and the rest of the world, and the pattern itself, he has an epiphany and is also set up for a much more stable run at the last battle. Tell us what you thought! We're getting to the pointy end now! We pick up where we left off with Egwene and the White Tower under attack, with Siuan, Gareth and Gavin mounting a rescue attempt. Ultimately they get Egwene back to the Rebels where there is hell to pay. Meanwhile Rand turns his back on Bandar Eban's food crisis and Travels to Tear where he gives Darlin new orders. When he thinks he's meeting with the Borderlanders he meets only Hurin! And after a near miss at Far Madding Rand sends Hurin back to the Borderlander leaders with an ominous message. Darth Rand balefires an entire fortress from existence, and freaks everyone out. He thinks he's killed Graendal. The night is darkest before the dawn, and boy is it getting dark! Rand and Cadsuane keep running into each other in Bandar Eban, which is tricky when one lives under the threat of murder on sight. Nynaeve is kicking ass though, going on what feels like a bottled episode to track down the missing king. Rand gains some information on Graendal's whereabouts, but at a high cost. Mat ogles Aludra's dragon designs after planning an elaborate cover for him and a few others to enter Trustair. But instead, Trustair comes to Mat. Ok, whoah. I hope you've all had a good day because this episode contains some of the darkest times for our boy, Rand! But we also get into some great callbacks, so there is always that! Perrin dips his toes back in the wolf dream while Faile has a small secret ceremony for the women who had to kill the brotherless who had helped them in Malden. Then it's time for sad things. Semirhage makes her final play on Rand and Min is caught in the crossfire. Things go real sideways. When the dust has settled, Rand is even more broken and he banishes Cadsuane from his sight with threat of death. Meanwhile, Gawyn arrives at Gareth Bryne's camp and gets a fresh cup of wake-the-hell-up from his former teacher. In the rebel camp Sheriam gets new orders from a masked Forsaken, and in the Tower Egwene tells Seaine to keep up the efforts of getting the Tower back together while she is locked away in a dungeon awaiting trial. And in our last chapter Aviendha finally picks up what the Wise Ones are putting down, and Shemerin tells the rebels why she is beahving like a non-Aes Sedai and how she got out of the city... Weclome back, gang! We're coming in hot, but not as hot as Adrin, right?  Aviendha is struggling to see what the Wise Ones are punishing her for, and a man turns into lava. Sort of. Egwene is finding more success in her attempt to get through to the sisters of the divided White Tower. Gawyn catches wind of Egwene's treatment in the Tower and decides to make a move. Cadsuane has Sorilea take a crack at interrogating Semirhage, and she immediately has some success. Who's hungry? Because, wow, is there a lot of table setting happening in this stretch of chapters! Rand is setting up stuff in Arad Doman while Cadsuane and Nynaeve are frustrated by Semirhage's ability to resist their questioning. Rodel Ituralde comes face to face with General Turan, leader of the Seanchan army that chased him into Arad Doan and fell for his trap. Egwene helps save Leane from a bubble of evil and continues her silent war from within the White Tower. In the meantime, the Aiel arrive at Rand's temporary post in Arad Doman and Rand instructs them to kidnap the Domani Merchant Council so he can coerce them into electing a new king in Alsalam's absence. Siuan finally admits to Bryen why she broke her oath, and the two come to an agreement. Later Siuan relays all the news regarding the Forsaken and the Asha'man bonding to Ewgene in Tel'aran'rhiod. In Malden, Perrin is preparing his huge party of soldiers and refugees to get out of Dodge before the other Shaido forces arrive. It's a brand new day and a brand new book. Also, a brand new author! There are ominous signs of the last battle in the Borderlands and people are starting to see the writing on the wall. Rand sends a message to Ebou Dar, Tylee and Mishima meet their first Trollocs, Graendal is privy to some dressing down of Demandred and Mesaana at the hands of Moridin, Rodel Ituralde pulls the trigger on the next phase of his grand plan against the Seanchan, and Masema meets up with Faile. And that's just in the prologue! Also: Rand's Aes Sedai struggle to interrogate Semirhage while Egwene finally achieves her goal of dealing with pain like the Aiel do. This after a really upsetting meeting with Elaida. Speaking of Aiel, Aviendha feels stuck and somewhat perplexed by the Wise Ones' treatment and witholding of actual teachings, and finally we check in with the most confused man in the world: Gawyn Trakand. After the battle they get word from the Seanchan that The Daughter of the Nine Moons is ready to meet Rand, and they start preparing. Nynaeve tricks Lan into fulfilling his destiny regarding the Golden Crane. In Tear Rand meets the nobles in The Stone and Loagin delivers a message to the Seafolk leaders, right before they get the news of the mass Amayar suicide. Things are hotting up, big time!
