Nature-based solution (NbS) for 'Rejuvenation of Wetlands and Water Bodies' was held on May 18, 2023 (Thursday), hosted by World Bank office in New Delhi. Chaired by Maninder S. Amongst the available water sources in the region. It is estimated that between 68 to 84 percent of water bodies are polluted. South Asia is one of the world's water stressed hotspots and as a region with growing development ambition requires increasing action in climate adaptation that embeds local, national, and regional water management solutions that are economically, environmentally and socially sound.   The webinar focused upon the technique and results of using a Nature based Solution (NbS) developed in India. for "resurrection and rejuvenation of the waterbodies". This sustainable, holistic and scientific approach of "consume and digest" the nutrient overload enables restoration of all the ecosystem services that a water body is meant to offer.   A low-cost technique is an optimal solution to deal with water stress / mismanagement issues and offers several benefits for projects in the Water, Urban, Aquaculture, Agriculture, Disaster Management, Tourism, and Environment Remediation sectors.   The presentation showcased results from projects undertaken in India and the deliberated upon exploring how the nature's self-healing mechanism and traditional knowledge systems could be harnessed for creating a triple bottom line (economic, environment, and social). Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized its flagship International Exhibition and Conference for the Indian Water and Waste Industry, Water & Waste Expo 2023 between 16th till 18th February, 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. That was a co-located event alongside CII’s 25th edition of its flagship event, International Engineering and Technology Fair (IETF 2023). The gala event was inaugurated by one and the only Hon’ble President of India, Shrimati Draupadi Murmu ji. The event was graced by auspicious presence of several Cabinet Ministers and Ministers of State too. Water & Waste Expo 2023 has been a biannual event and aims at providing an excellent international platform, to showcase the full range of environmental technologies including water, sewage, refuse, recycling, and energy conservation management in India, focusing on basic to highly sophisticated machinery and environmental solutions from domestic and international exhibitors. Vaidic Srijan LLP was privileged to get an invite from CII, as a promising startup in the Water sector to have their stall at the expo and this video is dedicated towards that event only. On 16th May, 2023, we had an introductory presentation session with IIT – Delhi, Centre for Rural Development and Technology (CRDT) as well as Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA). The session was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) VK Vijay, National Coordinator – UBA, IREDA Chair Professor and Coordinator of Biogas Development & Training Centre of MNRE, Government of India. Various members (students, professors and research scholars) of CRDT cell & UBA cell also attended and appreciated the session too. Our team included Mr. Madhukar Swayambhu, Mr. Chandra Shekhar, Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Mr. Atul Mohan, Mr. Neeraj Kumar and Shri Ramesh Pandya ji (who joined a little later). The Summit consciously focused upon and addressed a wide range of research topics, including, but not limited to, decarbonization, managing climate change, policy issues, and sustainability. Due to the urgent need for academics, researchers, regulatory bodies, policymakers, industry, business, concerned government departments, and the general public to exchange knowledge and expertise regarding the climate in order to learn from one another and find cutting-edge technologies/best practices. As a technology developed from scratch, we need to undergo extensive evaluation and scrutiny across the forums, Government offices, Scientific forums, academic symposiums and so on. The usual process is to give them a presentation, submit the whitepapers and case studies, all scientific data and then do a project (pilot) with them, in which they will record their own data, do their own analysis and finally give a report of their evaluation and satisfaction coupled with approval or disapproval. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is social face of any corporate, which is now being implemented as a mandate from Government of India, pushing the corporates to put in 2% of their annual profitability back in to social ventures for the betterment and sustainable development of the under-developed or under-privileged strata of the society around the corporates. Through CSR programs, philanthropy, and volunteer efforts, businesses can benefit society while boosting their brands. Companies that adopt CSR programs have often grown their business to the point where they can give back to society, e.g., the government mandate starts for the organizations reporting an annual profit upwards of ₹ 100 Crores. Thus, CSR or CER (Corporate Environmental Responsibility) is typically a strategy that's implemented by large corporations for the good of Society or Environment respectively.
