It's been a year of us answering yours and our stupid questions! In honour of our first anniversary, we've sat down in person for the first time and are doing what we love most, discussing fun facts! Thank you for sticking with us over our last 20 episodes and we have some exciting stuff coming for the next year too!

It’s been a while since we sat down on our own and what better episode than one on everyone’s favourite drug! We discuss caffeine and if it truly is an addictive substance. We also talk about the history of coffee and tea and the parallels between them. So grab a mug of your favourite coffee/tea and enjoy!

In this episode we talked to Laura Young, otherwise known as @lesswastelaura. Laura has a masters in environmental protection and management and is a climate activist and zero waste advocate. We discuss on the importance of reducing our waste and whether going vegan is sustainable and useful to our environment. We learnt so much this episode from our amazing guest and hope it can inspire others to enact small sustainable changes in their life through it. In this exciting and somewhat different episode for us, we invite Claire and Zoe of the Witches of Scotland podcast to discuss the witch trials and the unjust persecution and execution of women and men accused of witchcraft. In our continuing series of experts, we are joined with Nicole this week to discuss Dinosaurs and Jurassic Park! Nicole has a degree in zoology, is now doing a masters in wildlife conservation and wildlife management and has a particular interest in dinosaurs. Here, Nicole provides us with loads of dinosaur fun facts and answers all our stupid questions on fossils and tells us if we could actually bring dinosaurs back to life. Be prepared to be amazed by these amazing creatures that roamed our planet for millions of years. 

In our continuing series of experts, we are joined with Francesca this week to discuss eyes! Francesca works as an optometrist and helped answer all our stupid questions on the anatomy of eyes, diseases associated with sight as well as how informative and important routine eye checks are. This was genuinely a fascinating episode for us and we hope you enjoy it too!

This is our 1st episode of 2021 (and our first episode that we focus on the current pandemic)! This week we are talking with Dr Gavin Meehan who is an Immunologist in Glasgow. Gavin recently  took some time away from research to help set up and manage a COVID-19 testing lab in Glasgow. In this exciting episode, we discuss what kinds of tests we have to diagnose COVID-19 infections, how they work, the process samples go through from patient to result and more! 

This is officially our 10th episode so we thought we would make it a bit special by having our first guests on the show! This week we're talking with our PhD supervisors Dr. Payam Gammage and Dr. Ed Roberts about PhDs. We discuss the history of the PhD and what it involves and then have a Q&A with our supervisors on academia in general. We answer some stupid questions we have as well as some that you guys have sent to us! Enjoy the episode and we'll see you again in 2021!

Continuing on from last week, this episode Mahnoor asks Amy all about the immune system! We discuss how the immune system protects our bodies against infections and if we can actually 'boost' it. We also talk about Amy's project and the role of the immune system in cancer.
