Inspirational poem, Just One, Author Unknown ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to show your support? Become a patron on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Talk_Talks ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- JUST ONE Poet Unknown One song can spark a moment, One flower can wake the dream One tree can start a forest, One bird can herald spring. One smile begins a friendship, One handclasp lifts a soul. One star can guide a ship at sea, One word can frame the goal One vote can change a nation, One sunbeam lights a room One candle wipes out darkness, One laugh will conquer gloom. One step must start each journey. One word must start each prayer. One hope will raise our spirits, One touch can show you care. One voice can speak with wisdom, One heart can know what's true, One life can make a difference, You see, it's up to you ! ----------------------------------------------------------- Music by Scott Buckley- Released under CC-BY 4.0- www.scottbuckley.com.au Music By: Scott Buckley Title: Beautiful Oblivion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3KpJ5k1Htg -------------------------------------------------------------------- Liked it? Hold On A While by Amos Russel Wells, Inspirational Poem Hold on a While by Amos Russel Wells When all the sky is very black And all the earth is blue, And all the fiends are on your track And howling after you; When courage falls and hope decays And fair ambition dies, And all your dreamland is ablaze Beneath the ebon skies; When you would fain renounce the goal, Nor plod another mile, Oh, straighten up your drooping soul, And—just—hold on—a while! Hold on a while! the darkest night May bring the fairest day. Hold on a while! the good, the right, Will always find a way. Hold on! for is Jehovah dead? His love an empty song? Hold on! have heaven's armies fled Before the hosts of wrong? Hold on! for still some strength remains, Nor yield you till you must; A newer life may flood your veins; Born of a larger trust. A newer life—hold on for that! A lily from the mud! The greening peak of Ararat Emerging from the flood! The clouds are shattered by the sun; The earth is all aglow; Away the howling devils run, And back to hell they go! Hold on for that! Do what you can, Nor prove a craven elf; For heaven never helped a man Until he helped himself. And when your fondest hopes are dead And fate has ceased to smile. 'Tis then it pays to lift your head And—just—hold on a-while. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Music by Scott Buckley- Released under CC-BY 4.0- www.scottbuckley.com.au Music Title: Sanctuary' By Scott Buckley https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgeKXriwMnA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Liked it? Life By Sarojini Naidu, Inspirational poem Sarojini Naidu Life CHILDREN, ye have not lived, to you it seems Life is a lovely stalactite of dreams, Or carnival of careless joys that leap About your hearts like billows on the deep In flames of amber and of amethyst. Children, ye have not lived, ye but exist Till some resistless hour shall rise and move Your hearts to wake and hunger after love, And thirst with passionate longing for the things That burn your brows with blood-red sufferings. Till ye have battled with great grief and fears, And borne the conflict of dream-shattering years, Wounded with fierce desire and worn with strife, Children, ye have not lived: for this is life. Sailing to byzantium By W. B. Yeats - Inspirational poem ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to show your support? Become a patron on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Talk_Talks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sailing to Byzantium BY WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS I That is no country for old men. The young In one another's arms, birds in the trees, —Those dying generations—at their song, The salmon-falls, the mackerel-crowded seas, Fish, flesh, or fowl, commend all summer long Whatever is begotten, born, and dies. Caught in that sensual music all neglect Monuments of unageing intellect. II An aged man is but a paltry thing, A tattered coat upon a stick, unless Soul clap its hands and sing, and louder sing For every tatter in its mortal dress, Nor is there singing school but studying Monuments of its own magnificence; And therefore I have sailed the seas and come To the holy city of Byzantium. III O sages standing in God's holy fire As in the gold mosaic of a wall, Come from the holy fire, perne in a gyre, And be the singing-masters of my soul. Consume my heart away; sick with desire And fastened to a dying animal It knows not what it is; and gather me Into the artifice of eternity. IV Once out of nature I shall never take My bodily form from any natural thing, But such a form as Grecian goldsmiths make Of hammered gold and gold enamelling To keep a drowsy Emperor awake; Or set upon a golden bough to sing To lords and ladies of Byzantium Of what is past, or passing, or to come. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music by Scott Buckley- Released under CC-BY 4.0- www.scottbuckley.com.au Music: Static By: Scott Buckley https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chK8ej1rP9M -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Talk Talks Podcast Liked it? And this should be taken seriously, And given with love and tender. Anyone who deserves appreciation, Must have done something great. So share with them the way you feel, And always treat them right. But keep in mind that appreciation, Should be given again and again. If you truly appreciate, You'll remind them how great they've been. Inspirational Poem - No Man Is An Island By John Donne - Life Poetry ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to show your support? Become a patron on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Talk_Talks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “No Man Is An Island” by John Donne No man is an island, Entire of itself, Every man is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manor of thy friend’s Or of thine own were: Any man’s death diminishes me, Because I am involved in mankind, And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music: Origin of Mankind | Emotional Cinematic Music (The Book of Antara) By: Mathias Fritsche https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWWwsxC9VDU -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Talk Talks Podcast Liked it? Inspirational poem, The Parent’s Tao Te Ching by William Martin ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to show your support? Become a patron on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Talk_Talks ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Parent’s Tao Te Ching by William Martin Do not ask your children to strive for extraordinary lives. Such striving may seem admirable, but it is the way of foolishness. Help them instead to find the wonder and the marvel of an ordinary life. Show them the joy of tasting tomatoes, apples and pears. Show them how to cry when pets and people die. Show them the infinite pleasure in the touch of a hand. And make the ordinary come alive for them. The extraordinary will take care of itself. -------------------------------------------------------- Music by Scott Buckley- Released under CC-BY 4.0- www.scottbuckley.com.au Music: Snowfall By: Scott Buckley https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N6LRMFT7_Ahttps://www.patreon.com/musicbyscottbuckle -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Talk Talks Podcast Liked it? Inspirational poem, Time by Joe Massocco ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to show your support? Become a patron on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Talk_Talks ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Time Joe Massocco Tick tock...tick tock... Life is counting down on your internal clock. Memories that feel as if they occurred yesterday turn to flashes of moments that seem to fade away. People you once knew walk by without a clue. The times you once shared exist as if you were never there. Years fly...friends die... and you never know when you'll say your last goodbye. Oh, how I wish I could turn back time, spend it with loved ones and cherish what once was mine. Or to go back even more, being a kid in a candy store. How I miss the way I used to feel on Christmas day when Santa was real. But back to reality...back to today, family is scarce and memories continue to fade away. Tick tock...tick tock... How I wish I could control this clock. Inspirational poem, Finding Hope by Patricia A. Fleming ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to show your support? Become a patron on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Talk_Talks ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finding Hope © Patricia A. Fleming I've always viewed life from the side lines, Just watching it passing me by. In the past, too afraid to just let go and live, And lately too tired to try. I've envied the people around me So invested in living each day, While I spent my time hiding out from the world And searching for ways to escape. For most of my life I truly believed I was here to help somebody else, But now it's so clear it was just an excuse. To avoid living life for myself. It's sad that our lives and the pain we endure Can weaken our strength to move on, But if we get lost in the scars of our past, Without knowing our lives will be gone. It's true, people are disappointing, They can turn in the blink of an eye, But we can't avoid hurting each other, When we all want a chance at this life. But there's something I've learned through the wisdom of age, A truth about all of our lives, And that is no matter what path we each take, In the end, we just want to survive. So the time has now come to conquer my fears And to stand up and face a new day. Let the hurts of my past wash away with my tears And stop letting my life slip away.
