A Kingdom of Prosperity and Peace
2026/10/25
What does it look like when God’s people experience the blessings of His rule? In 1 Kings 4–5, we see the kingdom of Solomon flourishing through peace, prosperity, and preparation for the building of the temple. God fulfills His promises to His people and establishes a kingdom marked by order, abundance, and rest. But these chapters point us beyond Solomon to a greater King. Solomon’s kingdom offers a glimpse of the peace and blessing that come under God’s rule, yet it is only a shadow of the perfect kingdom Jesus Christ brings. Through Christ, we receive a peace and a rest that no earthly king can provide.
Wisdom On Display
2026/10/11
In 1 Kings 3:16–28, two women come before King Solomon, each claiming to be the mother of the same living child. With no witnesses and no obvious way to determine who is telling the truth, Solomon faces an impossible judgment. But God-given wisdom reveals what human insight alone could not. In this sermon from Grace Hill Church, we explore Solomon’s famous judgment and discover how true wisdom discerns the truth, exposes the heart, and seeks what is good for others.
We Need Wisdom
2026/10/04
We need wisdom to navigate relationships, marriage, parenting, leadership, conflict, and the countless other decision. We need to know how to live faithfully in light of what is true. In 1 Kings 3, Solomon is given the opportunity to ask God for anything. Rather than asking for riches, power, or long life, Solomon recognizes his own inadequacy and asks God for wisdom and discernment to lead God's people. Solomon's prayer teaches us something important: wisdom begins with recognizing that we need God. But the story doesn't end with Solomon. Even the wisest king who ever lived would ultimately fail. Solomon points us to a greater King—Jesus Christ, who is not merely a giver of wisdom but the wisdom of God Himself. In this sermon, we consider what it means to ask God for wisdom, how God's wisdom shapes the way we live, and why our ultimate need is not simply to become wiser, but to know and follow Christ. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach.” — James 1:5
Cleaning House
2026/09/27
In 1 Kings 2, Solomon establishes his kingdom by dealing decisively with the rebellion and threats that remain. As we come to the New Testament, we see that Jesus is the greater King—the Son of David who establishes His kingdom not by destroying His enemies, but by taking judgment upon Himself for His enemies. Because Christ is King, we cannot make peace with the sin that rebels against His rule. We are called to put sin to death—but we do so from a position of victory, not in order to earn victory. Sin may remain, but it must not reign. In this sermon, we consider what it means to “clean house” in our hearts and in the life of the church, dealing with pride, gossip, lust, bitterness, and the sins we are tempted to make peace with. Most importantly, we look to Christ, who has defeated sin and death and gives His people the power to live under His gracious reign.
Long Live the King
2026/09/20
Adonijah tries to build his own kingdom and take the throne, but God has already established the rightful king. As this chapter exposes our own tendency to live for ourselves, it ultimately points us to Jesus Christ—the true King whose kingdom will never end. The question is simple: Who is sitting on the throne of your life?
The King Who Crowned Himself
2026/09/13
Before Solomon ever takes the throne, his brother Adonijah tries to take it first, appointing himself king, building a coalition of loyalists, and quietly excluding anyone who might ask him why. Self-exaltation always divides, whether it's played out on a throne or in a marriage, a friendship, or a church. As we open a new series through 1 and 2 Kings, we'll see how one missed turn early in this book sets a trajectory that ends in ruin, and how the gospel offers something Adonijah never had: a King who emptied Himself so we would never have to build a throne of our own.
But God

The Persistent Widow
2026/08/23
Will Not God Give Justice to His Elect? | Luke 18:1-8 | The Persistent Widow In this message from Luke 18:1-8, we look at the parable of the persistent widow and the unjust judge, and ask the question at the heart of it: if a corrupt judge will eventually give a stranger what she asks for, how much more will a righteous, loving God give His own children what they need? This sermon walks through the text verse by verse, unpacks Jesus' "how much more" argument, and connects it to Matthew 7:7-11, James 4:2, and Romans 8:32 to show that persistent prayer isn't about wearing God down. It's about trusting who He already is.
The Ten Virgins
2026/08/16
Are you actually ready for Jesus to return, or do you just think you are? In Matthew 25:1-13, Jesus tells the Parable of the Ten Virgins, a story about a delayed bridegroom, a midnight cry, and a door that shuts. All ten bridesmaids are waiting. All ten fall asleep. But when the moment comes, five are ready and five are not, and they discover it too late.
The Mustard Seed and the Leaven
2026/08/09
We don't always see what God is doing. In Matthew 13:31–33, Jesus uses two ordinary pictures, a mustard seed and leaven, to teach us about the Kingdom of God. The kingdom may begin small. Its growth may happen slowly and invisibly. But what God starts, He will grow, and His kingdom will ultimately reach every corner of His creation.
The Unforgiving Servant
2026/08/02
Jesus tells a story about a servant who owed a debt he could never repay, was forgiven everything, and walked out the door to choke a man over a substantially smaller debt. We will look at how we can truly forgive from the heart.
The Rich Fool
2026/07/26
He who dies with the most toys wins... or does he? Jesus tells a parable about a rich man who did everything right by the world's standards and everything wrong by heaven's. In this message from Luke 12:13-21, we walk verse by verse through the parable of the Rich Fool and ask the question underneath it: what are you really living for? Our lives were never meant to be measured by what we own. This sermon looks at how Christ alone satisfies what no barn, bank account, or possession ever can.
The Laborers in the Vineyard
2026/07/19
Why does it feel unfair when someone gets grace they didn't work for? In this sermon, we walk through Jesus' parable of the laborers in the vineyard and uncover the real source of the workers' grumbling. It isn't injustice. It's grace shown to someone else. Matthew 20 tells the story of a landowner who hires workers throughout the day, then pays the eleventh hour workers the exact same wage as the ones who labored since sunrise.
The Pharisee and the Tax Collector
2026/07/12
In this message from Luke 18:9-14, we walk through the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector to see why respectability is not the same thing as reconciliation with God, why self-righteousness produces contempt instead of humility, and what it actually means to be justified before a holy God.
How then, Lord?
2026/07/05
How is anyone supposed to call on a Savior they've never heard of? No one believes without hearing. No one hears without a preacher. No one preaches without being sent. In this sermon, we walk through Paul's logic step by step and ask a question that presses on every believer: how then, Lord? If salvation is available to everyone who calls, and calling depends on hearing, and hearing depends on someone going — where does that leave you? This message is a call to stop waiting for the gospel to spread on its own and start being purposeful about proclaiming it — in your home, your neighborhood, and your daily life.

Non instrumental false teaching
God authorized instrumental worship throughout the Old Testament. Then, without a shred of scripture he de-authorized it. Even though God never change...
