Mr Sunday Dankaka (a youth leader in Mangu LGA) gives some background to the situation there, following the most recent conflict that, yet again, saw several people attacked and killed in January 2024. He talks about genesis of the strained relationship between indigenes and Fulanis in Mangu.

I finally got the opportunity to speak with a resident and indigene of Bokkos, the Local Government in Plateau State where over a dozen villages were attacked the night before Christmas 2023. According to him, many displaced people are still in IDP camps, but are forced to go back for harvest due to theft. Mallo also talks a bit about the relationship between Bokkos people and the Fulanis.

A nostalgic morning. I joined Abigail and Emeka on the Morning Jay (which I used to host). Former Station Manager, Mr Mangna Wamyil, was a part of the conversation and celebration, too! Young Nigerians across the country have been on the streets demanding that the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) be disbanded, amongst other things. Their voices have been heard the world over, and the government has promised (yet again) to dissolve the unit and reform the police. I spoke to young protesters at the gate of the state house of assembly on the 12th of October 2020, and also to a few random people elsewhere in Jos concerning the issue. Panels have been set up across the country, in various states, to look into allegations of abuse raised by the public, and are expected to conclude hearings in half a year.

On this maiden Episode of the season, we kick off with a conversation held on October 1, 2017 with The Most Reverend Dr Benjamin Kwashi of the Anglican Archdiocese of Jos. He shares his thoughts on several issues: governance, marginalisation, politics, education, poverty, population, religion in Africa, young people, zoning, mentorship, corruption the Nigerian middle class and Ajayi Crowther!
