Wikileaks founder Julian Assange cannot be extradited to the United States, a court in London has ruled. The judge blocked the request because of concerns over Mr Assange's mental health and risk of suicide in the US. The 49-year-old is wanted over the publication of thousands of classified documents in 2010 and 2011. The US claims the leaks broke the law and endangered lives. Mr Assange has fought the extradition and says the case is politically motivated. The US authorities have 14 days in which to lodge an appeal and are expected to do so. This means Mr Assange is not likely to be freed from London's Belmarsh Prison - where he is being held - immediately. * Profile: Julian Assange * How the UK decides whether to extradite Assange District Judge Vanessa Baraitser ruled that while US prosecutors met the tests for Mr Assange to be extradited for trial, the US was incapable of preventing him from attempting to take his own life. She outlined evidence of his self harm and suicidal thoughts and said: "The overall impression is of a depressed and sometimes despairing man fearful for his future." TOMMY 'TINY' LISTER DEAD AT 62 7:08 PM PT -- A release from The L.A. County Sheriff's Department says friends and business associates of Lister became worried Thursday when they hadn't heard from him since Wednesday night. Deputies performed a welfare check where they made their way into his apartment and found him dead. At this point, cops say it's believed that Lister died of natural causes ... but an autopsy will be performed to determine an official cause of death. Ice Cube, who starred in 'Friday' posted a tribute, saying, "RIP Tiny “Deebo” Lister. Law enforcement sources tell us they got a call to the actor's Marina Del Rey apartment Thursday, just before 3 PM, for an unconscious male. Our sources say Tommy was not transported to the hospital, as he was pronounced dead on the scene. A teenage girl who sparked a widespread UK search when she disappeared from her family home has reportedly been found six years later in a camp for ISIS brides in Syria. Nasra Abukar, who now has a three-year-old son, disappeared from her home in Lewisham in 2014, and she is now believed to have been found at the Kurdish run al-Hol detention and refugee camp in northeastern Syria. According to The Times, she was persuaded to travel to Syria and married an Isis fighter from Cardiff, with whom she had two sons, Faris and Talha. Faris was killed in a coalition airstrike that also injured his father, but Talha, 3, remains with his mother at the detention camp. Tonne of cocaine worth £100m found hidden in banana pulp shipment at UK port A tonne of cocaine worth an estimated £100 million has been found concealed in a shipment of banana pulp, the Home Office said. The illicit drugs were found during an inspection at the London Gateway depot in Essex last month, hidden in a shipping container docked at the port. Abedi, 23, made the admission in prison last month while he was visited by two members of the inquiry’s legal team to be interviewed as part of the probe into the atrocity on May 22, 2017. The brother of suicide bomber Salman Abedi, 22, had pleaded not guilty earlier this year to 22 counts of murder, attempted murder and plotting to cause an explosion likely to endanger life. Former prison officer who tried to smuggle crack cocaine in her underwear has jail term increased Hannah Gaves was found with cannabis, five packets of tobacco and six grams of crack cocaine in her underwear A prison officer who tried to smuggle crack cocaine into prison in her underwear has had her jail term increased at the Court of Appeal. Hannah Gaves, 27, from Bristol, was stopped on her way to work at HMP Erlestoke in Wiltshire in January last year with cannabis, five packets of tobacco and six grams of crack cocaine found in her pants. She pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class A and a Class B drug and attempting to bring tobacco into the prison. Ms Gaves was sentenced to three years in prison at Salisbury Crown Court in August. Coronavirus: Britons should be paid to take COVID-19 vaccine, says Oxford professor People should be paid to have a COVID-19 jab so the country reaches herd immunity as quickly as possible, a leading ethicist has suggested. Professor Julian Savulescu from the University of Oxford said incentives would help to overcome rising vaccine hesitancy due to perceived safety concerns. People could either be given a financial inducement to have the jab or they could be paid in kind, perhaps foregoing the need to wear a facemask in public, he writes in the Journal of Medical Ethics. Britain's medicines regulator, the MHRA, says the jab, which offers up to 95% protection against Covid-19 illness, is safe to be rolled out. The first 800,000 doses will be available in the UK from next week, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said. People should wait to be contacted by the NHS, he added. Elderly people, those in care homes and some NHS staff will be prioritised first - although more details on the priority list is due later. The Pfizer/BioNTech jab is the fastest vaccine to go from concept to reality, taking only 10 months to follow the same steps that normally span 10 years. The UK has already ordered 40 million doses of the free jab - enough to vaccinate 20 million people. The doses will be rolled out as quickly as the company in Belgium can make it, Mr Hancock said, with the first load next week and then "several millions" throughout December. But the bulk of the rollout will be next year, he added. "2020 has been just awful and 2021 is going to be better," said Mr Hancock. "I'm confident now, with the news today, that from spring, from Easter onwards, things are going to be better. Officials in New Zealand have filed charges against 10 businesses and three people after an investigation into a volcanic eruption that left 22 dead. The surprise eruption on White Island, also known by its Maori name of Whakaari, also injured dozens of people on 9 December last year. The majority of those killed and injured were tourists from countries including Australia, the United States and Malaysia. They were on board a cruise ship that was travelling around New Zealand. There were 47 people on the island when the volcano erupted. Sarah Barrass and Brandom Machin, who are half brother and sister, were reportedly behind the horrific crimes.
