What can be said about PHIL SZOSTAK? To begin with, he is allegedly not Christopher Guest. Additionally, he is the Creative Art Manager at Lucasfilm, and the author of multiple art books, including The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and The Art of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. After a wedding in Idaho and a trip to Atlanta, we're finally back! To kick things off, we discuss DragonCon, one of the wildest nerd-conventions out there! Besides being notorious for it's partying, DragonCon is also infamous for it's Star Wars Trivia test. This test is usual hard (and rightfully so), but this year it was truly diabolical! It's official: AHSOKA Season 2 releases on January 20, 2026! The reveal was made at D23 (i.e. the Disney convention), and along with the release date, they also blessed us with the first trailer for the show! Star Wars: VISIONS presents -THE NINTH JEDI releases in a little over week and are extremely excited! A couple of weeks ago the trailer dropped and we discussed it at length (check that out if you haven't!). Today we're very honored to present a very special episode. We had the privilege to be able to participate in a roundtable interview, along some of our podcasting peers, with the creatives behind THE NINTH JEDI: Supervising Director KENJI KAMIYAMA, Director SHUNSUKE TADA, and Producer HITOSHI ITŌ. KRISTIN BAVER is a Star Wars legend. Kristin is a journalist who has been the editor-in-chief of StarWars.com since 2024. Not only that, but she hosted This Week! In Star Wars, and served as the inspiration for KB-68 in Adam Christopher's Shadow Of The Sith as well as Kitrin Braves in The Rise And Fall Of The Galactic Empire by Dr. Chris Kempshall. Jeremy Allen White's ROTTA THE HUTT's inclusion in THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU was a surprise to many a Star Wars fan. Not since Dave Filoni's 2008 animated-film The Clone Wars had we seen Rotta, then affectionately known as "Stinky". In that film, our heroes are tasked by Jabba The Hutt to bring his son back safely. Fast-forward to 2026, and in Favreau's/Filoni's film, the Hutt-twins task our heroes to bring their nephew back safely. Something about poetry comes to mind... Today we take a look at the surprising inclusion of this character and how compelling he is within the story, while also furthering Jon Favreau's recurring filmic-theme: fathers and sons. THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU is right around the corner! Can you believe a new Star Wars is upon us after seven years?! We have been very busy in the lead-up to this film. We were extremely lucky to receive and Invitation from Lucasfilm to tour the Mandalorian Archives where they keep many props, and models from both the series and the film! We were also very lucky to be invited to participate in an virtual roundtable interview with non other than JON FAVREAU and DAVE FILONI alongside other incredible fan-creators! This was such a special moment with some great insight from both Dave and Jon! Additionally, Jon gets a Nice-Guy-Award for going out of his way to answer all of our questions after time ran out!
