Would You Still Do It If Nobody Knew? | Master Class with Jesus
2026/09/27
Would you still give, pray, and serve if nobody ever knew? In this week's Master Class with Jesus, Pastor Vincent walks us through Matthew 6, where Jesus gives a loving warning about the heart behind our spiritual habits. The word Jesus uses for "hypocrite" described an actor on a stage wearing a mask, and it raises an honest question for all of us: have we turned our faith into a performance? What we do matters. Why we do it and who we do it for matter too. Because the audience you seek shapes the reward you receive. Jesus invites us off the stage and into the inner room, the secret place where the Father is already waiting. That's where the real reward is found: relationship with Him. Whether anyone sees, claps, or says thank you, we get to live for an audience of One and for the only "well done" that lasts. πŸ“– Scripture: Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18 | Matthew 25:21 πŸ‚ COMING UP THIS FALL Oct 17: Serve the City Fall Festival at 1610 Apartments. Are You Salt, Or Just Salty? | Master Class | Cross Church Denton
2026/09/13
Relationships are easy right up until they are not. In week two of Master Class, guest speaker Scott walks through Matthew 5 and the ladder Jesus builds: don't kill them, don't stay angry with them, go repair it, then love them anyway. Along the way he unpacks what it means to be salt instead of just salty, why anger is almost always a secondary emotion sitting on top of hurt, fear, shame, or loss of control, and the hard truth that there is no such thing as unforgiveness. There is forgiveness and there is bitterness. Those are the two options. If there is one relationship in your life you know could be better, this one is for you. In this message: Salt of the earth and the difference between your spirit and your soul Why anger is not the real problem Forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling What reconciliation actually requires from both people Grace or justice: be careful which one you ask for Orphan or son and daughter, and why it changes everything Scripture: Matthew 5:13, 5:21-26, 5:43-45 NEW HERE? A Kingdom Mindset | Master Class with Jesus
2026/09/06
What does it mean to be blessed? Most of us learned to measure blessing by what we receive. The promotion. The house. The $20 on the sidewalk. But if blessing only shows up when things go our way, what happens when we're grieving, hurting, or everybody has walked out? Pastor Vincent Silmon opens our fall series, Master Class with Jesus, with the first lesson from the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus takes His disciples up the mountainside and reframes the whole idea of blessing around three things: dependence, compassion, and perseverance. Your phone can do almost anything. But it isn't worth anything if it's dead. That's us apart from the power source. Scripture: Matthew 5:1-12 Master Class with Jesus runs September and October as we walk through Matthew 5 through 7. Jesus is the instructor. Come learn from the One who knows everything. You Can't Live Like Jesus Hiding Behind the Door | The Way
2026/08/23
Pastor Vincent Silmon closes out our series The Way with a message on what it actually looks like to live like Jesus. In John 20, the disciples are locked in a room, afraid, hiding from the people who killed the one they had followed. Jesus walks right into the middle of it and gives them three things: peace, purpose, and power. He does not wait for their circumstances to change first. He steps into the chaos and settles what is happening inside them, then He sends them out. Following Jesus begins inwardly, but it always leads outwardly. What He puts in you was never meant to stop with you. Scripture: John 20:19-22 (NLT) Additional passages: Philippians 4:6-8, Acts 1:8 NEXT STEPS New here or ready to take a next step? Transformation Requires Surrender | The Way Week 3
2026/08/16
Transformation is not something you manufacture. It starts with what Jesus has already done, and it shows up in the way you treat the people around you. In Week 3 of The Way, Pastor Melissa walks through Philippians 2 and lays out the roadmap Jesus gives us for real change. In this message: - Transformation begins with what Jesus has already done - Transformation requires surrender - Transformation requires an attitude adjustment - Transformation becomes visible in our relationships - The roadmap: be, listen, surrender, practice, patience Scripture: Philippians 2:1-11 (CSB) THE WAY: 28 DAY DEVOTIONAL & READING PLAN Grow closer. Our First Calling Is To Be With Jesus | The Way Week 2
2026/08/09
Before Jesus ever sent anyone out, He called them to come and be with Him. In Week 2 of The Way, Pastor Vincent Silmon opens Mark 3 and points toΒ  something easy to miss: Jesus went up the mountain, called the ones HeΒ  wanted, and they came to Him. The sending came second. As Pastor VincentΒ  put it, our first calling is to be with Jesus. From there we walk into John 15 and the picture of the vine and theΒ  branches, where fruit is not something we manufacture but something thatΒ  grows out of staying connected. Then we sit down in Luke 10 with twoΒ  sisters: one busy in the kitchen doing good work, one on the floor atΒ  His feet. Only one of them was told she had found the thing that couldΒ  not be taken from her. Jesus desires a life shared with us. So the question this week is aΒ  simple one and a hard one: What does your relationship with Jesus look like? SCRIPTURE IN THIS MESSAGE Mark 3:13-14 John 15:16 John 15:4-5 Luke 10:38-42 THE WAY: 28 DAY DEVOTIONAL AND READING PLAN Week 2 is Be With Jesus. What Does It Mean to Follow Jesus? | The Way Week 1
2026/08/02
Jesus did not hand Peter and Andrew a plan. He walked up to the shoreline where they were working, said "Come, follow me," and they left their nets right there in the sand. Week one of The Way opens in Matthew 4 with the question the whole series is built on: what does it actually mean to follow Jesus? Pastor Vincent Silmon walks through the moment four fishermen dropped everything for an invitation that came with no details attached. Believing is where faith starts. Following is the proof that it is real. And most of the time the step comes before the clarity does. If you have been waiting to see the whole picture before you move, start here. The Unashamed Life | Cross Church Denton
2026/07/26
Pastor Vincent Silmon brings Week 8 of Unashamed, walking through Romans 13:8-14. Paul says love is the one debt you never finish paying. He also says the clock is running. The night is almost gone, the day of salvation is nearer now than when we first believed, and the way you live should look like you know it. The greatest evidence that Jesus lives in you is not what you know, but how you love. An unashamed life doesn't delay obedience. It lives like the time is now. You Were Never Meant to Fit In | Cross Church Denton
2026/07/19
Pastor Vincent continues the Unashamed series at Cross Church Denton with a message from Romans 12:1-8 titled "Unashamed to Be Different." For the first eleven chapters of Romans, Paul focuses on everything God has done for us through Jesus Christ. We have been justified, sanctified, and made righteous. We no longer have to live in condemnation because we have been set free from sin. But in Romans 12, Paul makes a shift. The focus moves from what Jesus has done to how we respond to it. Because it is not enough just to know it. All of us want to fit in. On some level we all seek approval and want to be accepted. But as followers of Jesus Christ, we were never meant to fit in. In this message: Surrender is our grateful response to God's mercy and it is our greatest act of worship. You cannot be different unless you first learn to let go. A living sacrifice is a life fully surrendered to God, giving Him complete control, every day choosing to say: Lord, my plans, my family, my career, my money, my body, my future, my entire life belongs to you. What shapes your mind will ultimately shape your life. Do not copy the behaviors and customs of the world. Ask yourself: is your Bible shaping your thoughts, or your social media feed? Is it your prayer life, or your politics? Is it contentment, or comparison? Transformation is not instant. It is a process that began the day you gave your life to Christ and does not end until you are transfigured into life eternal. It is good to know who you are, but do not forget whose you are. When it comes to how we see ourselves, we fall into two ditches: pride and insecurity. They look like opposites, but both are rooted in the same problem. Both are self-focused. When we know whose we are, we no longer have to prove who we are. God did not save us to leave us sitting on the sideline. You were not saved to be a consumer. You were saved to be a contributor. In faith, there is no bench. Every part of the body has a purpose and a role, and serving is one of the true markers of transformation. Unashamed Assurance | Cross Church Denton
2026/07/12
Suffering is inevitable, but God is in control. In Week 6 of Unashamed, Pastor Vincent walks us through Romans 8:16-39 and the assurance that belongs to every child of God: God is for you, God loves you, and nothing in all creation can separate you from that love. Series: Unashamed / Bold in Faith. Confident Truth. Unashamed for Christ. Message: Unashamed Assurance Scripture: Romans 8:16-39, John 16:33, Psalm 36:5 Say it out loud with us: Suffering is inevitable but God is in control. God is for me and nothing can stop me. God loves me and nothing can change that. I am victorious and that settles that. New here? We would love to meet you. No Condemnation: Living From Who God Says You Are | Unashamed
2026/07/05
If you have been forgiven, why do you still feel condemned? In week 5 of Unashamed, Pastor Melissa opens Romans 8 and shows us the life the Holy Spirit makes possible. This is where Paul shifts from what Christ has done FOR us to what God is now doing IN us. The invitation is simple and hard at the same time: stop striving to earn a verdict God has already given, and start living from it. Here is the truth that anchors the whole message: you cannot live unashamed while you are still living defeated. In this message: : A life in the Spirit lives from freedom, not condemnation (Romans 8:1-4) : A life in the Spirit produces transformation, not performance (Romans 8:5-13) : A life in the Spirit lives from identity, not insecurity (Romans 8:14-17) : A life in the Spirit points others to Jesus (Romans 8:16-17) A few things to hold onto: The enemy knows your name but calls you by your sin. Jesus knows your sin yet calls you by your name. You are not a pardoned criminal on probation. You are an adopted son or daughter who gets to cry out, Abba, Father. And the Spirit is not asking you to try harder. He is asking you to surrender more. Scripture: Romans 8:1-17, Galatians 5:22-24 CROSS CHURCH DENTON We are a church that loves God and loves people. You're Not Broken β€” You're Just in the Process | Unashamed Ep. 7
2026/06/28
Have you ever prayed all week, read your Bible every day… and still failed by Friday night? You're not alone. And according to Romans 7, you're not disqualified either. In this message from our "Unashamed" series, guest speaker Erinna walks us through one of the most honest chapters in the entire Bible, where the Apostle Paul, one of the greatest Christians who ever lived, admits he keeps doing the very things he hates. Not before he was saved. After. If that sounds familiar, this one is for you. What you'll take away from this message: β€” Why Paul's struggle is the same struggle you're facing right now β€” The difference between sin as a behavior vs. sin as a mindset (this changes everything) β€” What sanctification actually means β€” and why you're not supposed to be "there" yet β€” 3 benefits of salvation most Christians don't know they already have: free will, free grace, and free help β€” Why repentance isn't about feeling sorry β€” it's about turning around β€” How the Holy Spirit is already inside you, waiting for you to ask for help Key scriptures: Romans 7:14-15, 21-23 | 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 "The call isn't for us to live in perfection. It's to grow in godliness." Whether you're new to faith or you've been walking with God for years, this message will meet you exactly where you are. No judgment. No performance. Just grace. πŸ™Œ We are Cross Church Denton β€” a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-generational church family in Denton, TX. Unashamed Peace: Justified by Faith, Not Works | Pastor Tim Ross
2026/06/21
What if the peace you've been chasing is something you already have? In this Father's Day message from our Unashamed series, Pastor Tim Ross walks us through Romans 5:1 and the life of Abraham to show us one of the most freeing truths in Scripture: we are made righteous by what we believe, not by what we do. This message will challenge the way you think about your relationship with God and give you permission to rest in the peace that only comes through faith in Jesus Christ. πŸ“– Scripture: Romans 5:1 (Tree of Life Version) "Therefore, having been made righteous by trusting, we have shalom with God through our Lord Yeshua, the Messiah." In this message: - Why Paul uses the word "therefore" in Romans 5:1 and what it points back to - How Abraham's faith set the standard for how we enter a relationship with God - The difference between faith and trust and why God only requires faith - Why your position before God does not change based on your performance - How justification by faith leads to a peace that passes all understanding πŸ™Œ About Cross Church Denton We are ONE church that loves God and loves people. Are You Still Hiding?
2026/06/14
What if the shame you're carrying isn't about what you've done, but about what you're still trying to hide? In this message from our Unashamed series, Scott Prickett walks through Romans 3:19-24, 2 Corinthians 3, and Revelation 12 to show us that the veil we wear isn't protecting us, it's keeping us from the greater glory God wants to radiate through us. You're not called to be a better rule-follower. You're called to drop the veil and let the world see what it looks like when Jesus is your advocate, your identity, and your freedom. In this message: β€’ Why the law produces knowledge of sin, not freedom from it β€’ The courtroom scene in Revelation 12 and what it means for your daily life β€’ The difference between old covenant "fading glory" and the greater glory we carry now β€’ How to overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of your testimony β€’ Why boldness doesn't come from preparation, it comes from surrender πŸ“– Romans 3:19-24 | 2 Corinthians 3 | Revelation 12 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ πŸ“ Cross Church Denton 1100 Dallas Dr #106, Denton, TX 76205 Sunday Services: 9AM & 11AM 🌐 crosschurchdenton.org πŸ“± Search "Cross Church Denton" on YouTube for more messages ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ #Unashamed #CrossChurchDenton #ONE #SermonOfTheDay #Romans3 #ChurchOnline #DentonTX #NoOneWalksAlone
