30 years on I revisit this personal favourite. It bombed so hard at the time but honestly it made me laugh so hard when I was 11 years old, it introduced me to Chris Farley and made me an even bigger fan of Dan Aykroyd. Would I still be amused all these years later? Ipswich based comic, songwriter and author Robin Dicker watched it for the first time, here are our thoughts.

This 1997 Rom-com had the stars and a big cinema release but did not preform at the Box Office and is now forgotten. Had the cinema going public gotten it wrong and this darker movie for Meg Ryan and Matthew Broderick was ahead of it's time and deserves another look, or was it simply a misjudgement that is best left in the bargain bin of a now abandoned blockbuster video? I was at my local multiplex on an evening off, I'd seen pretty much everything apart from Fast X, I was about to buy a ticket when I noticed there was a screening of Thelma and Louise, a 30 plus year old movie I had never seen. I figured I'd give it a go. Although not really the kind of film we cover on the show I thought I would talk about my thoughts briefly and tell you about some future episodes and guest we have coing up on the podcast.

In our first episode of 2023 we focus on 1985 flop Explorers, a movie I had never seen but certainly been aware of for quite some time. Ipswich based artist/illustrator Ian Pointer grew up with the movie, he rewatched it, I watched it for the first time and we had a chat about our thoughts. Is it an underrated should be classic or one that should remain in at the bottom of a blockbuster bargain bin?

A Christmas treat that I watched over and over on video as a kid. It was shown on a regular basis on T.V for years but now seems forgotten. Owen from The Pookajee Players joins me for a chat about this should be classic. He's new to this film..... will he enjoy it as much as me or has nostalgia clouded my views? A movie that seemed to be on TV every week in the UK in the early 90s, everybody I knew as a kid seemed to love it but one I never got around to watching. Remembered now for being an early starring role for Nicole Kidman, this movie didn't take world by storm but those who did see it seemed to enjoy it.  A childhood favourite of King Street Cinema's James Rowe, we watched it and recorded this podcast of our thoughts, me as a newcomer and James as a long time fan.

Ernest is a popular character is America and although not a hit at the box office this has become a Halloween favourite over there. One I enjoyed very much as a kid and still like to this day but I'm in the minority?  In the UK, most haven't even heard of the lovable character. A Massive talent??? well I think so. I chat with fellow Cage fan Dave Kennington about two 90's Cage based movies that can be loosely linked through Elvis. These are two I loved growing up but what will a newcomer think and do I think they hold up?

In this special episode we go back even further than the 80's and 90's and focus on a movie from the 1950's. Although made well before our time many 80s kids in the UK were brought up on comedies from this era on television, shown less these days they were popular summer holiday and weekend viewing for many of us. Norman Wisdom was my favourite comedian to star in these movies and this was the film of his I watched most, I showed it to James Rowe of King Street cinema and we chatted about our thoughts. He was new to the movie, would he like it as much as me?

After 3 Superman movies it was time for a spin off. Problems with production may have been the cause to the first failure in the franchise, audiences may have become bored with the format or was it simply a bad movie? Another movie I grew up enjoying and still do. I chat with Dan Champion from King Street cinema, who saw the movie in the cinema as a kid and Movie critic Barnaby Page, who had never seen it until the day before recording. What did they think? Was it ahead of it's time and should be regarded as a classic or were the 1984 critics and audiences correct? I also chat about the TV series Superboy with James Rowe of King Street Cinema, an almost forgotten but fun show from the 1980's.
