Marriage has gotten a bad rap. The world thinks the institution of marriage is a farce and not to be treated with the reverence that it is due. Why? Marriage is supposed to be a sacred bond between husband and wife. So when did divorce become something we seem so quick to accept—or even celebrate? And perhaps the harder question is this: why do so many married couples stop treating their marriage like something worth protecting? When the feelings change, the romance fades, resentment creeps in, or marriage simply gets hard, is divorce automatically the answer? In this episode of Being Mrs. S, I’m talking about the covenant of marriage, the way we sometimes begin taking our spouses—and our vows—for granted, and why a marriage that has “gone sour” may need attention, honesty, forgiveness and work rather than an immediate exit. I'm sharing my views on why I think there is a break down in the first place and how to, maybe, avoid the dissolution in the first place.Because marriage isn’t always going to feel good. There will be seasons. There will be disappointments. There may even be moments when you wonder whether you chose the wrong person. But before you throw away the marriage, perhaps there’s another question worth asking: Can what has gone sour become sweet again? Let’s talk about it. ❤️ This conversation is about marriages going through ordinary conflict, disconnection and difficult seasons. It is not intended to suggest that anyone should remain in an abusive or unsafe situation.

Why are friendships between women complicated and convoluted, while men just go with the flow? Are women 🚺 more complex? Do men 🚹 just go with the flow because it is easier to?

Two very disturbing stories that have taken over social media and the news in the past week. Both highlighting the need for we as human beings, to take the extra step to control/check our desires. Yes, mental health is key and should better be studied and diagnosed. Over medicating is not the solution, especially when the symptoms are not known or investigated properly.

Hello my #Smooners, I promised to talk about my progress on #Zepbound and answer some questions that I get from time to time. I've been thinking about friendship, the value of having people in one's life, the importance of being able to share things that are personal and private with someone else and trust that those things are in a safe space. The idea and friends can be siloed into different groups.

Even though there are preliminary rape charges against Achraf Hakimi, the interwebs were abuzz yesterday over the news of his impending divorce from his wife, Hiba Abouk. Apparently, Hiba was asking for half of his assets but was hit with the oky-doke and informed that he has no assets because he has nothing in his name. I'm sorry, that's not cute!

So we witnessed the first episode of the #RHOP reunion last night and when I tell you the tomfoolery was at a ten! Ashley revealing that she bought a house with the man she is divorcing, Gizelle propositioning Andy...Chile! Mia being herself, a liar...Robyn's hypocrisy...

As part of my, "I have the most interesting friends" series, I am chatting to Bolanle Body-Lawson, my good friend that I have known for eons, we talk about her decision to go from employed to self-employed, owner, CEO and other things... Bolanle Body-Lawson is the co-owner and head baker at Pieko Bakery. It is her responsibility, as the chief baker, to experiment with new recipes and keep the bakery crew busy. Her passion has always been cooking, and she prefers to express herself through baking. Bolanle has baking in her genes, as her mother ran a bakery where she could be seen volunteering quite frequently. Bolanle worked as a technology integration teacher at an international school in Lagos, Nigeria; where she collaborated with educators and students from kindergarten through high school. She was there for over 15 years prior to making her decision to pursue her passion. Bolanle is a mother of two amazing children, a loving wife and a lifelong student. She enjoys discovering new ways to use technology as a means to simplifying processes and education.

Erika has taken so much heat for something that she clearly had no hand in.  The accusations have spilled into this season, even after answering all the questions during last season's reunion.  Garcelle and Crystal feel that Erika should give up $750,000 earrings just because; however, Erika says there are court proceedings that will determine the disposition of said earrings and then and only then will she give them up, if so ordered.  That totally makes sense to me!

Garcelle is not the right person to intervene regarding Erika mixing her meds with alcohol because she does not genuinely care for Erika. Facts! Discussing #Twitter comments.
