This week we're going behind the scenes of Central with our Director of Facilities, John Wright. For John, keeping the church grounds and facility in good shape is more than just maintenance, it's a ministry that supports every other ministry at Central!

Serving in the Church is the responsibility of every person who belongs to a body of believers, and each is equipped by the Spirit with unique abilities and talents. Serve Central Director Miranda Jones stops by the 167 podcast studio to share about her own experience in volunteering and how each person's God-given calling is vital to Central's mission to know Christ and make Him known.

To a child, battling a life-threatening illness probably feels like the complete opposite of the superheroes they watch in today's blockbuster films. But a ministry here in Wichita sees the exact opposite. Brianna Baskerville, founder of Wichita's Littlest Heroes, stops by to talk about this unique organization that is helping these brave children not only feel like they can soar, but maybe even leap tall buildings in a single bound.

Central Community member Mark Larkin recently learned that for many Wichita families on the brink of losing their children into state custody, simply having a real bed for the kids—frame, box spring, and mattress—is the last requirement they must meet to remain together. Now, Mark is leading a large group of Central volunteers who are teaming up with our local ministry partner Care Portal to make sure local kids have the beds they need to stay at home.
