It's been an exciting couple of weeks. The conference championships lived up to the hype for the most part and now we have our big game match up between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. It's the match up no one wanted but it should be an exciting one nonetheless. Joe, Calvin, and Chris are here for our last banter filled pick selection before we venture back into the world of cinema. Oh yeah....there was a trade that occurred in the NBA and we said a few words about that as well. Give us a watch or a listen. Let us know your thoughts. Like, subscribe, and comment! #theopentabspodcast will be back next week to recap the game and discuss the film Lean On Me and you won't want to miss that!

Well, it's that weekend again. The end of the football season is nigh, and often this is the best weekend of games as the games are usually more competitive and therefore more exciting than the big game that comes a couple of weeks afterward. As always the discussion was rousing. Give us a watch/listen. Like, subscribe, and comment. Let us know what you think about our picks and our reasoning! #theopentabspodcast

The Open Tabs Podcast returns with friend of the show Chris Lee to discuss a wide variety of topics around, as Chris calls it "Saturday and Sunday Ball". It's our favorite time of year. On this episode we discuss the upcoming college football semifinal, the MVP race, and make our picks for Wild Card Weekend. Well it's come to this. Calvin, Joe and Chris are deadlocked in their picks and....it'll end that way. That didn't stop the fellas from having some good banter and talking points. We had some reaction to the unofficial Hall of Fame announcements that we knew of to that point. We also gave you some things to look out for during the game. It's always bittersweet when football season comes to an end but there's light at the end of the tunnel as Chris gave us a list of films he's ready to come back and talk about. Last week Joe's picks proved to be the most astute, and besides a Cowboys loss that none of the three saw coming, picked every game correctly. He looks to build on that successful prognostication this week against Calvin and Chris in the Divisional Round of the Playoffs. The picks are bookended by a discussion of a vintage 80's video featuring one of the signature hairstyles of the era and a discussion on the broadcasting booths. We hope you enjoy our picks. We appreciate all of our listeners and viewers. Check us out on your preferred media source. #theOpenTabsPodcast

There is no question about the impact of this film on the culture, music, and entertainment at large. The questions are about the plot and acting which at times was laughable, but here we are! Purple Rain remains amazing in spite of if not because of it's flaws! We can't wait for you to hear our thoughts about it. Let us know what you think. This week we discuss the Ben Affleck directed story of how Air Jordan came to be, 2023's Air. We talk about our respective shoe journeys and discuss some of the amazing performances as well as what they got right and what wasn't quite true. It's the "newest" movie we've ever discussed but the conversation is very much rooted in 1984. We talk about the elephant in the room, was Jordan necessary for the film.
