President’s Vlog | Defra SoS on Farm, Rural Crime Action Week, Windsor Estate visit

In this week’s vlog, recorded before the Cabinet reshuffle on 5 September, NFU President Tom Bradshaw recalls the then Defra Secretary of State Steve Reed’s recent visit to his farm. Together with a few other farmers they discussed many issues including the future of SFI, investment on farm, fertiliser tax, energy prices and, of course, inheritance tax. In this week's vlog, NFU Deputy President David Exwood takes the reins in Tom’s absence and reminds us that many farmers are still suffering from the effects of dry weather, despite some recent rain. David also talks about contacting Defra Minister Daniel Zeichner about the Fruit and Vegetable Aid Scheme which is due to close at the end of the year, and the recent ATV safety campaign in collaboration with NFU Cymru, NFU Scotland, and the Ulster Farmers’ Union.
