The 2026 NFL hiring cycle has concluded with zero Black head coaches hired to fill a record 10 vacancies. This outcome has sparked intense criticism of the league's diversity efforts, as the number of Black head coaches in the NFL has now dropped to just three—the same number present when the Rooney Rule was first established in 2003. 2026 Head Coaching Hires Of the 10 openings, Robert Saleh (Tennessee Titans) was the only minority candidate hired. The remaining nine positions were filled by white candidates. The Current Landscape The league enters the 2026 season with a significant net loss in representation following the resignation of Mike Tomlin (Steelers) and the firing of Raheem Morris (Falcons). * Remaining Black Head Coaches (3): Todd Bowles (Buccaneers), DeMeco Ryans (Texans), and Aaron Glenn (Jets). * The "Pipeline" Debate: Critics point out that several highly qualified Black candidates, such as Panthers DC Ejiro Evero and Lions OC Ben Johnson (who is white but was a top candidate), were passed over in a cycle that favored established white head coaches (Harbaugh, Stefanski, McCarthy) or young offensive coordinators from the "Shanahan/McVay" tree. * Rooney Rule Under Fire: While the rule requires teams to interview at least two external minority candidates, the "zero-for-ten" result has led many analysts and fans to label the interview process as "performative" or a "sham." Perspective The disparity is particularly stark when compared to the league's player demographics, where approximately 70% of players are Black, yet they represent less than 10% of head coaching roles heading into the new season. Shedeur Sanders is the Best quarterback on the 2025 NFL DRAFT Periodt. He has been getting a lot of negative press with most of the criticism having nothing to do with his on field play. Like Lamar Jackson, young Prime refuses to play by their Plantation rules, thus the attacks. They did it to his father too. Nothing new.

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes had a fantastic 2024 season. JJ Reddick was a very good player and has a genius level IQ for basketball, just like LeBron James. However, like King James, he has zero coaching experience. This is not a championship run hiring. It's "let LeBron have his way before he is done." Right, there's no other dude LeBron relates to, with respect to Basketball, than JJ Reddick. They host a podcast together! Boston Celtics won the 2024 NBA Championship based great team play and excellent coaching. The Celtics were clearly the best team all year and it was only fair that they won the Chip. Al Horford and Jrue Holiday was pivotal to the Celtics Success. However, the two stars, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, stepped up big time for Boston. Jaylen deserved both the ECF and Finals MVP for his excellent play on both sides of the Ball.

The media already anointed Caitlin Clark the GOAT before she ever played a pro game. Now that she is finding out that the level of talent is ten times higher than college, the going is tough. But criticize her and they will come for you. They Caitlin worshipers are more rabid than the Swifites

I believe that Bronny James should be proud of his athletic accomplishments up to date and leave the game of Basketball. Bronny should instead pave his own path for the future, away from his father LeBron James' huge shadow. Caitlin Clark is Great. But there are many Issues facing women's basketball and the WNBA as an organization. The league is lackadaisical about growth. I think there needs to be new leadership of the WNBA. Wil Omane, Esq

When you are a black professional, you are held to a much higher standard. Being Black means you are to hope of an an entire race and community. Moral and ethical failings by men like Ime Udoka and Mel Tucker brings shame on, and harms the Black Community. SUCH men must do better and stay beyond reproach. Blacks have a short leash so failure, especially morally or ethically, damages opportunities for others behind them. #sportswrap

The Super Bowl was exciting indeed.  It was a historic night.  Finally the glass ceiling has been shattered and the position of Quarterback is available to Blacks.  That only happened about 40 years ago; still the opportunity and trust to lead is evasive for Blacks in the NFL.  Particularly head coaching and executive from office positions.  Yes, we can succeed there as well as we are now with the QB position.  It's time to end the discriminatory practices in the NFL, and all sports. visit us on YouTube.
