This week, the steely Jordan Temple (Atlanta, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) joins the virtual studio to talk writing, working and wellness on a day to day basis. Comedian/Poet Melissa Lozada-Oliva serves sincere goofiness in the virtual studio this week. We chopped it up with the iconic comedian/poet about manifesting checkery, the cancelation of phrases like “ancestral mangle,” and the impending combustion of social media. What else? What else? Rachel swerves game-spitting-4th-graders on Zoom and Cody considers the psycho/behavioral meaning behind toothpaste squeezing. Lastly, People Who Wear Their Summer Clothes in the Spring get heated and treated on our fan favorite segment, GYBS of the Week. 

The earth daddy himself, Malik Sol Coburn, educates the virtual studio on environmental consulting, sustainable food sources, and being checked for by his ultimate boss ‘“tierra madre” (mother earth). What else? Allergy season has Rachel robo-rollin’ on a Tuesday morning and Cody gets some great value chiropractic care. Lastly, Airpod stans get curb stomped on our fan favorite segment GYBS of the week.

It’s a family affair in the virtch studio! We’ve got Max and Tony Fitzpatrick of the Max and Tony podcast choppin’ it up about the Chicago art scene, creating culture, and decidedly not having a plan B. Scared money don’t win, fools! Meanwhile, Rachel checks for delicate ways of screaming “DEFUND THE POLICE” and Cody desperately looks for a laugh. Plus, tax season gets seriously sizzled on our fan favorite segment GYBS of the week. 

Season two starts off strong with Laundi Keepseagle in the virtual studio! The team chops it up with Laundi about her work as the executive director of the Chicago non-profit, SaveMoneySaveLife, Black-Indigenous solidarity, and her work on the 2016 NODAPL protest. Meanwhile, Rachel lurks friends and foes on venmo and Cody attempts time management. Also the gang roasts Thirsty White Allies who put BLM in their instagram bios on our fan fav segment GYBS of the Week.

With a full season of the pod behind them and another season ahead, Cody and Rachel squad up in the virtual studio sans-guest to check in with each other. Cody hopes for a hobby and drops a dime on some newfound checkery while Rachel deconstructs the dysfunction of the Department of Labor and the demon that is depression. Plus, a new GYBS Of The Week sends self promotion packing.

Hooper extraordinaire Ahmad Starks shake and bakes into the virtual studio to discuss dunking from birth, the highs and lows of being a professional basketball player, and making the pivot to personal training. Meanwhile, Cody gets MARCH MAD and Rachel spring breaks in Brooklyn. Also spring has sprungnt, yall! We’re welcoming the warmer weather by roasting our least favorite element of the season: DAY RATS! The duo hit the virtual studio to discuss, among other things, their unique genre of music, an experience akin to dumping water on one’s face and then taking a tasteful walk through a garden. Yum! Additionally, the gang chops it up about fighting for your art, and even manages to fit in a collective group cry over the fate of live performance. It’s therapeutic! Plus Cody and Rachel emotionally dunk on People Who Wear Masks Below Their Noses (you know who you are!) on our fan favorite segment, GYBS of the Week.   

Writer, director, and hilarious web-comic Natalie Griffen is doing a great job indeed. She crashes the virtch studio this week to discuss her webcomic Great Job Nat, her future Tedtalk on rhetoric, and harnessing the lumbering beasts of ideas that exist in her brain. Meanwhile, Rachel dreams of ration cards and “potato lines” in a non-existent utopia called the “Socialist States of America,” and Cody admits to an adolescence heavily influenced by the movie Hitch. Also, Happy Women’s History Month! The gang celebrates by roasting men who call women “females” to a burnt crisp on ANCFM’s newest segment, GYBS of the Week!
