Bishop Dónal McKeown, is a Roman Catholic bishop who has served as Bishop of the Derry Diocese since 2014.   In this episode, we chat about everything, from his upbringing in Randalstown and theological studies in Rome, to his years shaping young minds as Principal of St Malachy’s College, Belfast and his leadership roles within the Church. However, that verdict, that conviction was eventually overturned by the courts and deemed to be unsafe.  But the impact of that wrongful conviction extended far beyond him—it reshaped Maria’s life. At 28 years old, Ala was living with his family in Aden, Yemen, when he was forced to flee—for his safety and for the chance to build a new life. Yemen, located at the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, is bordered by Saudi Arabia, Oman, and has been described as a breathtaking coastline along the Arabian and Red Seas. Yet, since 2014, Yemen has been devastated by conflict. Nine years of war has resulted in a major humanitarian crisis. Over 4 million Yemenis are internally displaced, 17 million face food insecurity, and millions - especially women and children - suffer from malnutrition.
