Description

Saichology is where I think out loud about the inner life and the everyday grind—mental health, spirituality, law school, my advocacies, and the lessons I’m collecting as I go. This season leans into my “Let-Go and Let-God Year”. About the Host: I’m Sai Mamalo, a law student, community builder, and storyteller. Saichology is my space to process, practice courage, and share what’s working (and what isn’t) while I finish law school and keep serving. What you’ll hear •Honest solos on anxiety, rest, discipline, and healing •Study seasons, systems, and setbacks from a senior law student

Wicked For Good wasn't so good?
2025/11/30
This was supposed to be a 30ish-minute episode but I accidentally was not able to press-record on the good second half part of it and I just do not have the human capacity to record everything I said in the unrecorded part so here goes nothing. I ammmmm soooooooo frustrated x10 because the best part of this unpacking was not able to make it to this but lol whatever nobody listens to this anyway except future me so whatev
S3E1 — The Let-Go Year
2025/09/21
The Let-Go Year Comeback episode alert! After a 3-year hiatus, this pod is back! In this 18-minute solo, I share why I disappeared (still wanting to disappear), how a full social media detox reset my brain, and why my #1 priority now is finally finishing law school—seven years in, one finish line in sight. I also open up about taking a one-year leave from school, the messy middle that forced it, and the unexpected peace that came from letting go of control. What's inside: Why I pulled the plug on socials—and what I noticed in the quiet Choosing one non-negotiable: graduating from law school The real story behind my one-year leave: struggle, ego, and starting again Trading perfection for progress: learning to release control and trust the process If this resonates, share this episode with someone who’s in their own “let-go year.” Tag me with your biggest takeaway and one thing you’re releasing this week. This is quite unfinished because of the rain but thanks for sticking around! I will record the next episode as soon as I feel the urge to *hehe* keyword: it must come naturally. This time, we will make it simpler, slower, and focus on what truly matters. huehue *crying eyes emoji* tysm! 3 ilya! Sai
Episode 8: HOW THE F**K AM I STILL IN LAW SCHOOL
2021/06/18
Welcome back to the park! It's officially another school year at Addu Law! I am officially a JUNIOR! But, it's like everyday, I am always amazed just how its possible that I'm still here.
Episode 7: The Chaos Within (Speaking to Someone with Depression)
2021/06/09
The podcast is called Saichology 101. It's a wordplay on my name and the study of human behavior. But it might not be until this episode that we actually come closer to breathing life into this moniker. On this episode, my friend Al Saiden and I discuss some of our deepest, darkest, and most chaotic thoughts and feelings — one that we sure mask well enough to make you believe they are not there. Caveat: We are not speaking here on the POV of human behavior experts, but merely as two people having gone through depression or is still on the process of overcoming it.
Episode 6: She's the Maan!
2021/06/02
Maria Anna "Maan" Espinosa is a good old friend. To this day, she is the only person I personally know of who has worked in the Supreme Court so I was so excited to speak to her about this (and maybe get a little insider intel? HAHA jk) But I know that beyond that, she has reached even far greater heights in terms of helping others grow their wings so that they too can learn to fly. Together with her village of a support system, she managed to earn her Juris Doctor Degree in San Beda all while maintaining a demanding full-time job, taking care of her son, and pursuing her advocacy on youth and women empowerment.  But her story is far from finished, in fact she is just about to take off beginning with the #BestBarEver  this November. Listen and be inspired at how this girl from Tondo has flown high above what society expected she could only reach. PS: This is probably one of the episodes I will always be proud of.
Episode 5 — On the DL by DN
2021/05/26
In this episode, a consistent Dean's Lister in law school shares to us everything he learned on how to "stay alive" and be on top of his game in law school.  DN Murray is a 24 year old Juris Doctor graduate of Ateneo de Davao College of Law. He is on the top 2 of his graduating class in 2020, and is now preparing to take the 2021 Bar Exams.
Episode 4: Failing Forward
2021/05/08
I must admit, my last episode was a bit embarrassing.  I've had some really invalid excuses. But why am I feeling better about this week's failure than the last? That's what I process in this episode.  I had another terrible exam just yesterday, but somehow, I am taking it more positively today. That's why this episode is entitled FAILING FORWARD— we move forward from that failure, and that failure allows us move further.  Also, This is the first time I've tried dividing an episode into segments so that you can just skip the parts you're not interested in hearing :p
Episode 3: Breakdowns and Self Doubts
2021/04/26
How a bad exam can crush your confidence. Here’s me on a little self-talk therapy where I break down and cry and hopefully get my shit together. And Finally another episode!
Episode 2: Are we a little too late for law school?
2020/11/13
Three 30-somethings talk about starting law school late and whether or not it might have been one of the better decisions they’ve made. Listen and maybe it’ll help you decide if law school is right for you. Joining me in this episode are my friends Tamara at Kamille.
Episode 1: Lessons from our 20s
2020/11/06
In this pilot episode of Saichology, we talk about the significant lessons we’ve learned from our 20’s — from failing classes in college, to not graduating on time, disappointing our parents, great heartbreaks, to eventually finding our own unique paths that’s truly meant for us and becoming the stronger, better, and wiser 3-decade young life wanderers we are today. We are sure every 30-something will relate to this, and the even younger ones will pick up a good lesson or two. Happy listening! Love, Sai & Asil 💕
