The Energy of Desperation in Business
2024/02/20
Today the topic is the energy of desperation in business. What inspired it is that someone emailed me the other week saying, ‘Can you please teach me how to be a blogger?’ There was even no subject line.
I didn’t respond. More importantly, it didn’t trigger me. I didn’t feel the need to explain to him why this can’t be summed up in one email, why I can’t do the work on their behalf and why he must get out there and start doing their research.
This is because I’ve worked on regulating my nervous system around these things. There are people in my inbox begging me to reduce my rates for sponsored collaborations daily, others wanting to publish guest posts on my site or to ask me general questions such as ‘how to make money’.
Often, they include excuses in their emails as to why it can’t be as easy for them as it is for others, why they haven’t even started a blog or a business yet, and so on.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you might know what I have to say about this.
It’s not a business problem. It’s a mindset problem.
Where I see opportunities for growth and income, they see barriers and hardships. They think life is unfair and business is not for everyone. While I try to embrace the challenging experiences and negative emotions that come with being self-employed, they avoid them.
I have programmed my mind to know that I’m in this for the long haul and it doesn’t matter whether it takes one more year or 20 more to reach my goals. And they want quick wins. If they start something, they give up soon after.
So we have the opposite mindsets about this. But I’m very familiar with theirs. I’ve been there and I still like to reflect on those early days and to hear the stories of other business owners who were also like that once.
Obviously, that mental state and energy isn’t what will help you change your life, start a business, create something impactful online, and have a completely different reality a year or two from now.
But what’s maybe the worst of it all is the energy of desperation.
The energy of desperation
The main examples that come to my mind are related to dating.
You can have the most attractive and successful person wanting to date you and offering you the world. But if you smell some desperation, chances are you wouldn’t want to be near them.
To be desperate is to beg for something, to make yourself so available for it that you leave everything else behind.
You change who you are so you can please the other person or so you can fit the situation without actually wanting it. It’s to force something that doesn’t seem to be working out. Desperation is to be willing to do anything to get that person or thing, but not in an empowered and determined way.
Instead, you overlook your values, you let others walk over you, you don’t even tune into your heart to check whether you truly want this and understand why. You just want it. Desperation actually repels what you desire.
In terms of relationships, you pull people away. You appear clingy, possessive, not feeling worthy, and seeking validation from others.
How I Ranked an AI-Written Article on The 1st Page of Google in 4 Days
2024/02/15
Today I want to talk about ranking an AI-written article on the first page of Google in just 4 days.
I decided to share more strategic processes with you, and this is what they will look like. I’ll share results I’ve had, the strategies I implemented and why I did it. Hopefully, you can do the same or something similar in your business and get traffic to your blog, more customers, or whatever it is that your final goal is.
AI content for bloggers.
I know many of you are skeptical about it, but it’s usually because you haven’t done your research, haven’t heard from other expert bloggers, and haven’t actually given it a chance.
Because the case with me is that I was also skeptical and I stayed away from it for a long time, but then I started hearing everyone in the industry saying positive things about it, using it to create content for their blogs, starting niche sites, specifically so they can create a lot of content using AI. And it was giving them results.
No one knows how long that can continue, because pretty soon most of the websites online might be AI-generated, but that doesn’t mean yours can’t be quality.
Google takes AI blogs seriously since its recent update, and it gives them a higher chance of ranking than before. But I know that it’s hard to believe it before you actually see results. So that’s why I’m here today, to inspire you to give it a try and keep working on ranking your content.
Why I Began Creating AI Content for LRS
I said some time ago that I only create content using ChatGPT for one of my niche sites and not for Let’s Read Success, my main blog, but things have changed.
Literally, the industry changed in a few months, since last year. The most important thing was that Google algorithm update I mentioned, where the biggest search engine online treats AI generated content in the same way that it does content created by humans.
The simple argument for that is that both can be quality and both can be crappy. Many blogs started by people are for the sole purpose of making money, promoting something, not giving value, and just it’s not what the Internet needs more of. There is plenty of that.
In the same way, it’s possible that you use AI to help you out with your content, you edit it, add your personal touch, connect with your audience, and you can literally create the most valuable blog ever.
So why should we rule this out when there’s so many opportunities?
The biggest benefits are that it saves us time, it can do research much better than us and much faster, and we can use it in so many different ways.
So I started using it for Let’s Read Success – just to come up with blog post titles, to create a draft for an article, to create a list of ideas, or to add a separate section to an article like an FAQ section, because ChatGPT is really good at that, and just in little ways in which I can upgrade my content or generate new articles.
But eventually I started creating whole articles, and I can edit them a lot or a bit, depending on how much I want to change. But the thing is, Let’s Read Success is a big website. It covers many topics.
I don’t have a team of writers, and now ChatGPT is finally allowing me to produce more content in no time. Not just less time,
How I Promote a New Offer Without Social Media
2024/01/30
If you’re a blogger, you know that we are mostly introverts. We don’t really like social media, except for Pinterest, but it’s more of a search engine.
I’ve tried Instagram, I’ve tried all the other things years ago, I’ve seen results, but I just didn’t feel good about it. It didn’t attract the kind of audience I wanted.
I don’t want to compete with others on these platforms. It’s about short form content there, which is not my thing. I want to share more value with you every time I show up, and it’s not where I want to spend my time online.
And because I don’t consume content on social media, I know there are others like me. So I create my episodes, blog posts and my courses for you.
So one of the most burning questions people have is how I promote a new offer without social media. The simple answer is that I use my other channels.
Some business coaches might be telling you it’s impossible to make sales or grow your income without social media. But I don’t believe that’s the case.
Why Social Media Isn’t for Everyone
I think social media is not for everyone and it can be overwhelming to be there if you don’t want to. At some point you might run out of things to say. You might post just for the sake of posting.
You might compare yourself to others. This is a pretty big deal on Instagram. You might spend too many hours creating graphics for there, for example, or sharing stories or connecting with other people.
But then what’s the result? Did at least one of those people sign up to your email list? Are they going to buy one of your courses? Do you actually have meaningful conversations about business or not? Because if not, it’s just like a free time activity for you to be there.
You can definitely keep doing it, but just don’t make it one of your main business activities. Don’t consider it an income generating activity.
Leave it for the after work hours. I knew Instagram was not for me, but while I was there in the beginning, I was enjoying it. There was a lot going on.
I was inspired to create new graphics. There was engagement. I was using it for promo during my launches and people were actually enrolling in my courses.
But eventually it started feeling icky. It wasn’t where I wanted to be even though I had a big following. I enjoyed connecting with some fellow business owners, but that was more for social reasons. Not actually for my business.
It was good for branding, for sure, but the people there, just I wasn’t feeling good about it. Here’s why I quit Instagram and what happened months after that.
My creative energy was restored. I felt like myself again. I wasn’t giving my energy or power away to others.
There also I started following the wrong trends, the wrong people, the wrong experts in the industry. I started chasing goals that weren’t meant for me.
Everyone is throwing their numbers around there and it’s easy to compare yourself to others and think you’re behind. But that’s usually not the case. You’re just playing different games.
So,
Why Start Publishing Monthly Income Reports
2024/01/26
Today, I’ll be talking about publishing monthly income reports.
If you don’t know what that is, it’s very popular in the blogging industry. Basically, a business owner shares their earnings and expenses for the month, what they worked on, the lessons they learned, anything else going on in their business and in their life if they want to, the mistakes they made, the best tips they can give their audience, etc.
This turns into this powerful piece of content that can inspire others, show them what’s going on behind the scenes of a business, what happens over the course of a month, how profitable a business venture can be, but also the ups and downs, because there are some low months.
Back when I was starting my blog, which was in 2013, I knew nothing about blogging. I didn’t have the confidence that I could make money online, and it just began as a hobby. But I was reading many of these income reports by other bloggers.
Some were making six figures a month, others six figures per year. Some were making a couple thousand and some just a few hundred. But from each of them, I learned something.
They helped me realize it’s possible. And because it’s possible for them, it’s also possible for me. They started from nothing, they weren’t any more special than me or than anyone else, so that was encouraging.
It was the type of content that kept me accountable month after month. I was seeing that they do the work, they earn the revenue, and I wanted to get there. So I kept working on my blog.
At the end of the day, it’s all about consistency, right?
Most people just give up before there are any results. But if you keep taking action in your business, month after month, eventually you’ll make profit. So I started dreaming bigger thanks to reading those income reports.
But also, I began thinking about the daily steps that were going to lead to the big vision. I started focusing on the day-to-day blogging activities that were ultimately going to lead to massive progress in a year or two or however long that was going to take.
The beginning of my income reports
Eventually, I started earning my first money from my blog in a few different ways, and then I began publishing my income reports.
At first, it was scary because you have to be vulnerable and brutally honest. In the beginning, you’re definitely not proud of the income you have, but by sharing it, you’re doing so much for others and for yourself.
First of all, any income matters, even if you earned one dollar or let’s say a few cents, which can easily happen even a few days after you start your blog, from advertising or affiliate marketing. Well, that’s a few cents more than the blogger who is just starting out and doesn’t know how to monetize at all. So you have something to share already,
Blogger Playground is Here: Why I Created a Membership and What’s Inside
2024/01/17
I just released something that I’ve been creating behind the scenes for a few months now. Actually the first members are already in because I did a special launch for the waitlist in December, but now in January it’s open to the public.
I’m talking about Blogger Playground. That’s my membership and community for bloggers – new, intermediate and advanced – who just need a place online where they can get the support, the connections, the next steps in their business, the strategic content and the accountability they seek, and which the industry actually lacks.
Blogging is a lonely business model, but it doesn’t need to be. You can be a part of a community and maybe this can be the one thing you change that helps you create and publish content consistently. Maybe that one place online that I created can be where you share your ideas, get access to unique content and even make friends with other bloggers.
The goal is to treat blogging as a game.
It’s a playground, you know. You can be spontaneous there, there is a topic to ask questions, there is one where you can introduce yourself, you can interact with other members through the comments or you can message each other.
You also get direct access to me. You can just leave a question in the membership anytime you want or share any concern or one of your wins or failures if you want to. We’re either going to celebrate you or help you analyze why that happened and how you can do better next time. There is also a chat box so you can always just text me.
This is the membership I wish existed when I was first starting out and every next year because I never found it. We bloggers are mostly introverts but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to make friends in the industry and interact with people who are going through the same. So that’s why I created this community.
It’s not enough to just take a blogging course. It’s not enough to just start your blog and publish content for some time but then to leave it behind. You gotta stay consistent.
Not just for one year but for two or three. That’s when you can unleash the full earning potential of your platform.
And remember the playful and fun energy that was at the playground when we were kids? We lost track of time there.
We could be there every day. We could scream, get dirty, fall and get back up. We could go talk to anyone and start playing together.
It was the opposite of being at home or being in school. There were no strict rules. I’m bringing this fun and playful energy to our business and to our day-to-day blogging activities.
That’s what we do in the membership.
We can lose track when optimizing content, creating graphics, testing new monetization strategies, adding internal links to blog posts or building new blogs that we can monetize as soon as possible and maybe even sell for profit in one year. Add to that a community of bloggers doing the same and being there for each other.
That’s what Blogger Playground is all about. And that’s why I named it this way.
5 Ways to Create Your Best Year in Business Yet
2023/12/12
It’s the end of the year and December is a very exciting month because it’s the best time to do a year end review, decide what you wanna double down on in your business and what you’ll leave behind, set new goals and create your vision for the new year.
If you’ve been looking for a training to help you do that, I just opened the doors – for the second year in a row – to my program Epic Biz Year. Inside it, we get super actionable and combine energy + strategy to plan out your free content, new offers, launches and anything in-between for your business in 2024.
Here’s the link in case you want to check it out, it’s just $33, and you can get it till the end of the month (till December 31st). Doors will close after that, and it will only be available again in 1 year because this is the best time to create a game plan for your year in business. From January on, it’s action time.
Now, let’s dive into the list of ideas I have for you today on how to make 2024 your most epic year in business.
1. Do something you’ve never done before.
The goal here is to get out of your comfort zone, and have new data to work with.
For example, what if hosting webinars increases your conversions so much that any other promo activities don’t need to happen anymore and you can do just that? The only way to know is to give it a try.
Or, what if your content format is totally out of alignment? Maybe you’re making yourself record long podcast episodes but what you’re actually meant to be doing is go live on Instagram whenever you feel inspired.
What if your audience is waiting for you to create a course that contains your unique framework? That one digital product can skyrocket your revenue in the new year. If you find the right launch process and get better at selling it, it can even become your main income stream, and it can be passive income.
The point is to do something you’ve never done before. It will involve a risk, obviously. Imposter syndrome might hit, but you can take action anyways. It’s the only way to get some new results, analyze them, and take decisions based on the data your gather.
Just make sure you really dive into the numbers when evaluating if this new thing works for you or not. It might not look like it, but if the numbers are saying it’s growing your email list, or people are more engaged with your content, then there’s something there and you gotta do more of it.
2. Map out your content for 2024 so you can stay consistent.
That’s exactly what Epic Biz Year helps you with, together with planning your offers and launches for the whole year.
You can make changes to that initial plan, of course, and you can follow intuitive nudges over the year or listen to your audience and create the content and offers they want and need. But this yearly plan will give you the structure your business needs to continue growing, and the accountability you need to stay consistent with producing new and strategic content.
3. Focus on collaborations.
Niche Sites, AI for Bloggers, Course Hosting Platforms and More
2023/11/08
Let’s face it. Many of us are stuck in business pretty much most of the time.
I wanna remind you that it’s totally normal. But the only thing that can get you out of a rut is action.
Messy action.
Action that doesn’t make sense.
Action that might be in a totally new direction.
Action on an old project.
Action related to a program you invested in but never got to.
Any action, really…
It gets you moving. It makes you excited again. Your brain starts coming up with ideas and connecting seemingly unrelated things.
This is what can help you when you’re bored with your business, or overworked, or having a bad month or a bad year.
So in today’s episode, I wanna share some fun things I’ve been doing lately.
I think you’ll enjoy it as what you’ll hear is different than anything I’ve covered before.
I’ll discuss 2 big topics in the blogging industry that I haven’t dived into before – niche sites and artificial intelligence. If you’ve been thinking of trying any of these or adding an extra income to your blogging business, you might come up with some interesting ideas after this episode.
Keep in mind that these are projects that take months or up to a year to see any significant results. I mean starting a new niche site and seeing some traction, or using AI in your content and seeing the overall effect it can have on your business and income.
Nothing is a quick way to make money. We’re talking about ideas that take time to implement, but which can then earn you passive income forever. Or, alternatively, you can sell your blog for profit, and even create new niche sites solely for that purpose.
Let’s get into the details.
Niche Sites
A lot of my time lately was invested into building niche sites. For a start, my second site – Bold Business School – which was created as a promo website for my program with the same name, now also has a blog. For it, my goal was to create content using ChatGPT and optimize it to eventually bring traffic to the site and monetize it in different ways.
This is the first time I’m using AI for anything and I’m actually loving it. I took a course and am learning from one of the experts on the topic – Pete from DoYouEvenBlog. It was super easy to get started, though, and to feel comfortable using the tool.
Now, it’s like I have a team of writers and I’m the editor. It’s all about doing keyword research, giving ChatGPT the right prompts, reviewing the content and making edits to it before publishing it.
One disadvantage of AI will always be the lack of human factor. But with some changes to the content, you can easily add that. Not to mention that you can prep ChatGPT to sound more like you. It’s getting better and better at that.
How I Saved $1,000+ in Blogging Expenses with 1 Decision
2023/10/30
Today I wanted to share about one action I took in my business that saves me over $1,000 per year in blogging expenses.
It’s changing course hosting platforms. And in particular, switching from Teachable to Podia. Let me share why I took that decision and the different factors that played a role in it.
Why Leave Teachable
Teachable changed a lot over the years. It’s one of the top course platforms, sure. But they also raised their prices, especially in the last year as they completely changed their pricing plans and what each includes.
They keep adding new features. One I was waiting for is communities and memberships, and they just released it this year, which is awesome. But other platforms have been having it for a long time now, offer better conditions and are cheaper.
There were also other little things I wasn’t happy with such as the design and user experience. I don’t like the Teachable sales pages and the design options were very limited.
One big thing that made me want to switch is the fact that not only did they increase the price, but they also set a limit on how many products we can publish of each type.
For me, that means paying more but also not being able to publish as many masterclasses, courses and other trainings as I want to.
For other course creators that might not be an issue. If you have one or a few programs and don’t plan to create any or many more, you’re good.
But I like testing out new offers, releasing masterclasses, and being open to new ideas. Maybe I want to release a new workshop every month. Or a few more free courses or video series.
Once I saw that my next invoice will be $1,428/year (which equals to $119/month), I started my research for a new platform.
I also admitted to myself that I’ve been sticking to Teachable for way too long because they are some of the best in the industry and because I’ve already created so much using them and had thousands of students enrolled that it would be a hassle to change platforms and might even annoy students.
But the truth is that I’m also moving so I can provide students with a better experience and so I can have freedom as a creator.
Many of the successful course creators have also tried more than 1 platform. And so far, I’ve only been with Teachable.
Why I Chose Podia
I did some research although I already knew the other big players in the course business. I also knew many bloggers and business owners that were successfully using other platforms and recommending them.
I narrowed down my choices to a few.
When looking for a new course platform be careful not to sign up for one that doesn’t provide course hosting. In that case, it might be super cheap and have other amazing features, but you’ll need to host your videos elsewhere (and maybe paying monthly for that service).
I definitely needed a platform that has it all and where I can safely add all my course lessons (I’ve got hundreds and hundreds of these).

The Bold Statement
After the title and subtitle of your course (and maybe a visual on top, depending on how you want to design the page), I like to include what I call a bold statement.
That’s one or two sentences that grab attention. You can use a big font. This is the first thing people will see and it will evoke emotions in some way. I usually use a ‘what if’ sentence that challenges the reader and makes them imagine something wild and believe it’s possible.
Here are examples from my different courses:

How to Write a Compelling Product Guarantee [High-Value Offers Audiobook, Part 9]
2023/10/23
Welcome to the audiobook experience of my book High-Value Offers: How to Create Desire and Turn Your Course Idea into The Dream Offer for Your Ideal Student.
The product guarantee exists to handle one of the most common sales objections – the financial risk people are taking when investing in your program. It’s crucial that you nail the guarantee, make it compelling and remove that huge objection standing in the way.
That’s what this episode is all about. You’ll also learn about the different types of guarantees, will see examples from successful entrepreneurs and their products, and will get ideas on where to include your guarantee on your sales page as well as how to make it part of your marketing.
Tune in below:
What’s a product guarantee?
The guarantee itself is a statement in which you add a condition. It’s usually about what will happen if the person isn’t satisfied with the result of the product. There are different ways to structure it and it can be as bold or as strict as you want it to be.
The first point I want to make here is that you better include a guarantee as part of your offer. Skipping this element can cost you a lot.
Having one lowers the barriers to purchasing. It builds trust. It makes people have one more reason to enroll in your course and not worry that they will lose money because if they don’t like it, they can ask for a refund.
It also makes your offer more desirable and a good guarantee can be the reason why more people decide to purchase now. It reduces the perceived risk and can make you stand out from other course creators who don’t have such a good refund policy.
Many people wrongly assume that the guarantee is just this short paragraph you write at the end of the sales page and hope people won’t even need to notice. But it’s much more than that and that’s why it deserves more attention.
It’s a sales tool that shows how much you believe in your offer. The stronger your guarantee is, the more confident you seem in your product. And as a result, people do the same.
They become curious why you are offering this no-brainer guarantee when so many people can just enroll in your course and then ask for their money back. And that might happen, but the earnings that come from a guarantee like that will always exceed the losses.
You know there are those people who just keep asking for refunds online and don’t care about anyone, they leave negative feedback, aren’t willing to put in the work and complain about not getting results. You might stumble upon a few of them and that’s okay. They are not your ideal student and you can simply refund their money and wish them the best. You don’t want to do business with them.
But your task as a course creator is to get that amazing program you’re creating in the hands of the right people and inspire them to enroll as soon as possible so they can start taking action. All we did in this stage of the process is with that goal and the final little push you can give is the guarantee.
So my advise to you is to spend a good amount of time writing a href="ht...
Scarcity & Urgency + How to Handle Sales Objections [High-Value Offers Audiobook, Part 8]
2023/10/17
Welcome to the audiobook experience of my book High-Value Offers: How to Create Desire and Turn Your Course Idea into The Dream Offer for Your Ideal Student.
It’s time for the final stage of the Dream Offer Method – Action. Now that you’ve presented the value of your offer and have made it as desirable as possible, it’s time to encourage your ideal students to take action. In this part, we’ll talk about 2 of the main elements of your offer – scarcity and urgency (these go together), and objections.
Scarcity and urgency are something you’ll utilize when you launch, they are sales techniques that work really well. And sales objections are any reason the potential buyer has for not buying your product. Learn more about them, why they are a good thing, the different types of objections and how to handle them well.
Tune into the episode below:
Scarcity & Urgency
The benefits of scarcity and urgency include: increasing sales; giving people a reason to act now; making your product more exclusive; increasing desire again as your offer now becomes time-limited and not something everyone can have at any moment; and your launch can be much more exciting.
Scarcity is about people’s desire to acquire something limited and their fear of missing out.
For a course, it could be limiting the number of spots you open for the program or the number of students you let in. A good reason for that could be the fact that you want to work with a small group of people so you can focus on their needs and individual progress, so you can serve them better and so they feel supported and have a better experience.
It could be that you offer a special bonus for your course, such as a coaching call or 1:1 Voxer support, but because you invest your time in this and you can’t do it for everyone, that bonus is only available for let’s say the first 10 people who enroll.
You can also release an offer that will never be available again. That’s a pretty good reason for people to act now, because it’s literally now or never.
Urgency in sales means giving people a reason to act now, it’s time-based. The most common ways are by closing the doors of your program after a few days or increasing the price tomorrow. This is when you use time-sensitive bonuses. One example could be removing a special bonus after 24 hours.
To show urgency, you use numbers, a countdown timer, many reminders especially in the last few hours before the offer disappears.
For maximum effect, use both urgency and scarcity to enhance your offer. Let me share some examples.
Handling Objections
Objections are a good thing because they usually come from people interested in your offer and who are considering buying it. So don’t be quick to think that someone doesn’t want it at all if, for example, they say it’s too expensive or they don’t have the time to complete a course. These are actually two common objections and in a bit you’ll see how to easily handle them.
You can’t skip the objection handling part, though, as you’ll leave your potential students one step away from purchasing.
Before making a sale, you’re there to support them, to guide them while they decide if this is for them, if it can work for them, and if the investment is worth it.
The Most Powerful Proof [High-Value Offers Audiobook, Part 7]
2023/10/09
Welcome to the audiobook experience of my book High-Value Offers: How to Create Desire and Turn Your Course Idea into The Dream Offer for Your Ideal Student.
Your ideal student needs proof that all this works before they invest in a program. They also need proof that you have what it takes to teach them. Both of these objections can be handled by sharing your story and making it part of your marketing, sales page and launch in a way that applies to the problem you’re solving and to the program.
In this part, you’ll help you write your story in a way that resonates with your offer and add it to your sales page. You’ll also see examples from my courses.
Tune into the episode below:
Why share your story
It’s time for the final part of the Desire Stage. Your offer is coming together nicely and we have just a few more elements to work on. Now we will add a bit more You to the whole thing. Let me show you how.
One great proof is the success of your students, but if this is your first course, you don’t have that yet. You can also show proof by sharing other people’s stories, adding stats and facts, but this just isn’t strong enough. When you share your own story, though, and add emotion to it, people can resonate and decide to work with you.
Whatever business model I teach, I always recommend infusing your story into it. As a blogger or even if you just own a website, your About page must be in the menu and you can make it as long and detailed as you feel like.
People want to see who’s behind a website and a business, they want to know there’s a real person who once had the same struggles but overcame them and now lives a better life.
You are their motivation, you are their guide and that’s why they consume your content and want to get access to your paid programs.
From then on, your story must be shared everywhere, in different ways, and repeated often so new people from your audience can get to know you and so the rest can connect with you on a deeper level.
If you have a podcast, the first episode can be about your journey so far and in many next ones, where it makes sense, you can mention different parts of your story. This is helpful, encouraging and often the sole reason why you form real relationships with people.
Then you gotta share it on socials and with your email list. Whenever you get the chance to speak on someone else’s podcast, get interviewed on another platform or just appear on someone’s social channel, make sure you start with your story.
Your story as part of your sales page
I also believe that a good sales page has this as one of its main components. It also becomes part of the marketing material for your launch. It’s the most natural way to promote your program and to show why you know your stuff and can’t wait to teach others what you know.
One part of your sales page, towards the end, can have an image of you and a short bio section where you get to mention who you are and what you do. This is easy to write and it’s usually just a few paragraphs.
