Memorial Podcast – Graham “Davo” Davidson Today we honour the life and legacy of Graham “Davo” Davidson, one of the true icons of the SCF and a man whose passion for racing pigeons shaped generations of flyers across New South Wales and beyond. Known simply as “Davo” to almost everyone in the sport, he was a flyer of immense knowledge, humility, and dedication — the kind of pigeon man whose influence will be felt long after his passing. In tribute to him, we are re‑sharing this special interview recorded on Pigeon Radio Australia on Tuesday, 13 January 2015. In this conversation, Davo speaks openly about his racing career, his methods, his love for the birds, and the deep commitment he carried for the sport. It captures his voice, his personality, and the wisdom that made him a respected figure throughout the pigeon community. This episode now stands as a living piece of history — a chance for all flyers to hear Davo in his own words, to remember his character, and to celebrate the legacy he leaves behind. Rest in peace, Davo. A true racing pigeon legend whose knowledge, passion, and spirit will never be forgotten.

This month on Pigeon Radio Australia, we bring you an important and highly anticipated discussion on bird flu and racing‑pigeon health with some of the most respected experts in the pigeon world. Our guest panel includes: Dr. Henk de Weerd – Belgica de Weerd, world‑renowned European avian veterinarian and racing‑pigeon specialist Dr. Rob Marshall – Leading Australian avian veterinarian and respected pigeon fancier Michael Portelli – WPF Secretary and champion Melbourne racing‑pigeon flyer Together, they break down the facts, clear up misinformation, and provide real, science‑based insight into pigeon health, racing conditions, and the truth behind the recent bird flu concerns. A must‑listen episode for every fancier in Australia and around the world. Stay tuned, share the podcast, and support the sport we all love.

In this episode, Ivan Fonti is joined by Dr Rob Marshall and Michael Portelli for a detailed discussion on several major issues currently affecting the pigeon racing community. The team examines the emerging H1N5 bird flu situation, the rise of pathogenic E. coli in lofts, and the use of KD Powder in managing health risks. They also compare Metrosole and DiMetrosole, outlining how each product performs under real racing and breeding conditions. The conversation continues with a clear breakdown of last week’s WPF Birchip cancellation — what happened, why the decision was made, and the implications for flyers across Victoria. This episode delivers straight, factual information to help fanciers stay informed and prepared.
