Judge Judy, Jasmine Guy, Gas Prices, & What Happened to Our Spiritual Roots? | TMC #225
2026/10/01
Is the Black community losing its connection to God? We are examining the evolution of Black spirituality today. We are analyzing whether modern prayer habits are sufficient for the next generation. The conversation shifts to how we view traditional spiritual practices and if our current approach to Black spirituality is actually serving our children as well as previous generations did. This discussion moves past surface-level observations to look at the re-evaluation of Black community values. It is time to ask the hard questions about what we are passing down and if our connection to the divine is evolving or fading away. Subscribe to Talk My Credo for more unfiltered commentary, and let us know your thoughts on the state of spiritual practice in the comments. ------------------------- *** CHAPTERS *** 00:00 - Intro & Recap 09:55 - What Happened To Black Spirituality? 14:35 - What Example Are We Being For Our Children? 17:05 - P Shaw Explains Ministry In Action 23:35 - What Does Black Spirituality Means? 36:30 - How Did Our Spirituality Become A Source of Resistance?  53:25 - Call Us & Be Part of the Show! 54:10 - The Shenanigan Report 54:40 - Harvey Weinstein sentenced to 15yrs 1:01:10 - Trump Bans Media 1:11:05 - A Philly Teacher Exposed For Pretending To Be Black 1:23:20 - That Time Candace Owens Told The Truth 1:25:29 - Black Politics 1:26:45 - P Shaw Doubles Down About Jhene 1:29:08 - Are We Being Scammed At The Gas Station? 1:34:00 - Would You Drive A Mini Car? 1:36:00 - A Wild Jailbreak Story 1:42:40 - Judge Judge Goes Full MAGA 1:51:50 - The Jasmine Guy "Controversy" 1:59:00 - The Benediction and Final Shenanigans --------------- Follow Us: 📱 Instagram: https://instagram.com/talkmycredo 📱 TikTok: @talkmycredo 📱 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/talkmycredo --------------- #talkmycredo #blackvoices #blackempowerment #blackvoices
NFL Is Back, Jhené Aiko’s Whimsy & The Drama We Can’t Ignore | TMC 224
2026/09/15
Welcome back to Talk My Credo Podcast EP224! This week, the crew has A LOT to get into. We kick things off with the return of the NFL, then dive into Jhené Aiko’s new album, Westside Whimsy, the reaction to her Kendrick Lamar collaboration, and P Shaw doing what P Shaw does best—causing problems. From there, The Shenanigan Report takes over. We review Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again?, debate whether Taraji P. Henson was positioned as a replacement for Janet Jackson, and get into the controversy surrounding DaBaby’s chicken-and-waffle restaurant, his menu, and the power of celebrity influence on social media. We also break down the lawsuit involving the Lion King translation controversy, debate whether we would date someone famous, and react to one of the wildest dating stories we’ve heard in a while. Then the episode shifts into politics and culture, including discussion of Donald Trump’s proposed voter-related economic messaging, the Affordable Care Act, reparations rhetoric, congressional representation, U.S.-Israel policy, and more. And somehow… we STILL find time to get into Aries Spears, Black comedy legends, new TV spinoffs, and the Lindsay Clancy mistrial discussion. Can We Just Be Real About Some Things? Sit Back & Lets Chop It Up! (TMC#223)
2026/09/10
Welcome back to Talk My Credo Podcast EP223! This week, we’re getting into one of those relationship debates that NEVER seems to go away: Can men and women genuinely be just friends? And maybe the better question is: What happens to those friendships once somebody gets into a serious relationship? The crew debates friendship boundaries, jealousy, emotional intimacy, loyalty, and whether you can become too close to another person while expecting your partner to simply accept it. Does being in a relationship mean certain friendships have to change? When does a close friendship become disrespectful to your partner? Are men actually more jealous than women? And how much should your partner be allowed to influence who you keep around you? We put those questions to the test with several What Would You Do? scenarios, forcing the crew to decide where they personally draw the line. Then, after The Shenanigan Report, the episode takes a major turn into a passionate conversation about Black liberation. We discuss politics, community power, what Black Americans may need to rebuild, and whether liberation requires returning to principles and institutions that have been lost along the way. From relationships to liberation, this one covers A LOT. In this episode:❤️ Can men and women really be just friends? 👀 When does a friendship become too close? 💚 Jealousy, trust & relationship boundaries 🤔 What Would You Do? relationship scenarios 🗣️ Current political shenanigans ✊ A passionate conversation about Black liberation 🏘️ What Black communities may need to rebuild 😂 Donte reveals his “master plan” ⏱️ Chapter Timestamps00:00 – Intro 00:50 – What Do Unattractive People Do to Find Romantic Success? 04:25 – Can Men & Women REALLY Be Friends? 10:25 – Can You Be TOO CLOSE to a Friend While in a Relationship? 24:05 – Testing the Boundaries of Your Relationship 31:25 – Break: Subscribe to Our YouTube Channel 32:00 – Are Men More Jealous Than Women? 49:25 – What Would You Do? Breaking the Cycle: Why Being Strong Isn't Always Enough
2026/09/04
Talk My Credo Podcast EP222Welcome back to another episode of the Talk My Credo Podcast! This week, we continue our conversation about emotional survival in Black spaces—but this time, things get much more personal. After exploring the broader idea of resilience in our previous episode, the crew now asks: How have these survival behaviors actually shown up in our own lives? Donte opens up about how the last conversation affected him personally, and the crew breaks down the different ways we learn to manage stress, pain, disappointment, responsibility, and emotional pressure. We talk about compartmentalization, coping mechanisms, emotional suppression, and the pressure to keep functioning even when something inside us is clearly not okay. Sometimes survival means pushing through. But what happens when “pushing through” becomes your default response to everything? At what point does strength become avoidance? And how do we learn to process what we’ve survived instead of simply carrying it? Later, The Shenanigan Report takes us through another wild collection of stories involving a man pretending to be an NFL player to scam women, controversy surrounding a Target costume, the Minnesota “Spider-Man” story, Tuskegee University continuing to defend its bonnet policy, and Jaylen Brown discussing racism within business and professional sports. We also take a moment to acknowledge Dolly Parton and, as always, close things out with plenty of laughs and classic Talk My Credo energy. In this episode:🧠 Emotional survival in Black spaces 💭 How survival behaviors show up in everyday life 🧱 Compartmentalizing emotions ❤️ Coping mechanisms and emotional processing 💪 The pressure to keep functioning through pain 🎓 Tuskegee University and the bonnet-ban debate 🏀 Jaylen Brown, racism, business & NBA players 😂 The Shenanigan Report ⏱️ Chapter Timestamps00:00 – Intro & Shenanigans 04:18 – P Shaw Details His Recent Car Accident 07:17 – Emotional Survivability in Black Spaces Continued 08:00 – How the Topic Affected Donte in Real Life 12:55 – How Has Emotional Survivability Manifested in Your Life? 22:00 – Compartmentalization of Emotions 38:41 – Coping Mechanisms 51:42 – Be Part of the Show 52:56 – RIP Dolly Parton 54:44 – Man Scams Women Pretending to Be an NFL Player 01:06:41 – Target Under Fire Again for Racist Costume 01:10:45 – Minnesota “Spider-Man” Who Fought Racist Provocateur Unmasked 01:17:35 – Tuskegee President Triple-Downs on Bonnet Ban 01:24:29 – Jaylen Brown Discusses Racism in Business & the NBA 01:36:25 – Last Laughs & Benediction 🎙️ Talk My Credo explores Black culture, current events, relationships, mental health, politics, entertainment, and society through honest conversations, challenging perspectives, and plenty of humor. 💬 Join the conversation: • What coping mechanisms did you learn growing up? • Do you compartmentalize your emotions to keep functioning? • When does resilience turn into avoidance? • Is “being strong” sometimes preventing us from processing pain? • What does healing look like after years of simply surviving? The Dark Side of Black Resilience: Are We Too Strong for Our Own Good?
2026/08/26
Welcome back to another episode of the Talk My Credo Podcast! Black resilience is often celebrated—and for good reason. But this week, we're asking a more uncomfortable question: What happens when the behaviors that helped us survive begin making it harder for us to heal? The crew dives into emotional survival in Black spaces, examining the coping mechanisms, attitudes, and protective behaviors many of us learn while navigating stress, racism, expectations, family dynamics, and everyday life. We discuss the pressure behind the “Strong Black Man” and “Strong Black Woman” identities, emotional compartmentalization, humor as a coping mechanism, hyper-awareness, and the complicated relationship between being informed and constantly feeling like you have to remain “woke.” These behaviors can protect us. But can they also exhaust us? Can strength become an inability to ask for help? Can awareness become hypervigilance? Can emotional toughness make vulnerability feel dangerous? The goal isn't to criticize Black resilience. It's to examine whether some survival strategies should evolve as our circumstances, opportunities, and understanding of emotional health evolve with them. Later, The Shenanigan Report takes us through another wild collection of stories involving the death of Sonya Massey’s convicted killer, developments involving Karmelo Anthony, cultural appropriation, racist imagery and rhetoric, Master P’s comments about continuing to discuss slavery, and plenty of classic TMC foolishness along the way. In this episode:🧠 Emotional survival in Black spaces 💪 The “Strong Black Man/Woman” dynamic 😂 Humor, compartmentalization & other coping mechanisms 👁️ The emotional cost of constantly being “woke” ❤️ Survival versus healing ✊ Black resilience and generational adaptation 🗣️ Master P’s comments about discussing slavery 😂 The Shenanigan Report ⏱️ Chapter Timestamps00:00 – Intro 02:08 – Subscribe to Our YouTube Channel 03:37 – Emotional Survivability in Black Spaces 09:47 – How Does Emotional Survivability Manifest in Black Spaces? 16:10 – The Dynamic of the “Strong Black Man/Woman” 26:15 – How Do You Find Ways to Cope? 32:13 – The Dynamic of “Being Woke” in America 38:22 – Break / Call and Be Part of the Show 39:10 – The Shenanigan Report 39:20 – Sonya Massey’s Killer Dies in Jail 40:50 – Karmelo Anthony’s New Trial Attempt Is Denied 44:38 – A Hilarious Example of Cultural Appropriation 54:21 – An Outrageously Racist Tobacco Company Name 59:42 – A Disturbing Warning From a Racist Facebook Group 01:05:05 – An Important Hygiene Tutorial 01:15:57 – Racist Provocateur Meets His Match 01:20:10 – Master P Says Stop Harping on Slavery 01:32:45 – The Benediction 🎙️ Talk My Credo explores Black culture, current events, relationships, mental health, politics, entertainment, and society through honest conversations, challenging perspectives, and plenty of humor. 💬 Join the conversation: • What survival behaviors have been passed down through Black families and communities? • Can being “strong” sometimes prevent us from being vulnerable? • When does resilience become emotional exhaustion? • Can a coping mechanism that once protected you eventually begin holding you back? • What does healing look like when survival has always been the priority? Can You Grow Without Shedding Your Black Identity?
2026/08/21
Welcome back to another episode of the Talk My Credo Podcast! This week, the crew reacts to the controversy surrounding Earn Your Leisure’s Rashad Bilal and comments expressing frustration with the Black community. But the conversation quickly becomes much bigger than one person. What happens when Black creators, entertainers, entrepreneurs, and public figures begin to “cross over”? Is expanding beyond a predominantly Black audience simply growth—or can that transition sometimes become a rejection of the very community that helped build the platform? The crew digs into the difference between evolution and erasure, asking whether success requires changing who you are, softening your identity, or distancing yourself from Black audiences in pursuit of greater mainstream acceptance. We also discuss authenticity, knowing when change is necessary, and whether adapting your presentation means compromising yourself—or simply growing. Later, The Shenanigan Report brings plenty of laughs and debate as we discuss Lionel Richie’s comments involving Chris Brown and Usher, backlash against a school principal for setting standards, Donald Trump being Donald Trump, first-date questions, and one of Dee’s funniest stories yet. In this episode:💰 Rashad Bilal & the Earn Your Leisure controversy ✊ Growth vs. erasure in Black media and business 🎯 What does “crossing over” really mean? 🧠 Authenticity vs. adapting for a larger audience 🎤 Live singers vs. studio performers 🏫 Backlash over school standards 🎶 Lionel Richie, Chris Brown & Usher 😂 First-date questions and classic TMC foolishness ⏱️ Chapter Timestamps00:00 – Intro 07:00 – Subscribe to Talk My Credo on YouTube 07:33 – Reacting to the EYL Controversy 13:45 – Crossing Over, Growth & Shedding Blackness 33:15 – Singers: Live vs. Studio Performances 39:20 – Authenticity & Knowing When to Change 54:15 – Call & Be Part of the Show 54:56 – The Shenanigan Report 56:30 – Lionel Richie, Chris Brown & Usher 01:03:35 – Principal Faces Backlash for Setting Standards 01:20:00 – Donald Trump Being Donald Trump 01:22:10 – A “First Date” Question 01:33:26 – Dee’s HILARIOUS Story 01:40:55 – The Benediction 🎙️ Talk My Credo explores Black culture, current events, business, entertainment, politics, relationships, and society through honest conversations, challenging perspectives, and plenty of humor. 💬 Join the conversation: • Can Black creators expand their audience without distancing themselves from Black culture? • When does “crossing over” become erasure? • Is changing your presentation necessary for growth—or a compromise of authenticity? • Why do some public figures become frustrated with the audiences that supported them early on? When Did Accountability Become Anti-Black?
2026/08/17
Last week, we asked whether Black institutions and communities can establish standards without falling into respectability politics. Apparently… y’all had A LOT to say. After our discussion surrounding Tuskegee University, bonnets, durags, community accountability, and Black standards, the backlash came quickly—and this week, the TMC crew is addressing it head-on. When does encouraging higher standards become policing Blackness? Can we criticize behaviors within our own community without being labeled anti-Black? Does every conversation about professionalism automatically center the “white gaze,” or is there room for Black people to establish expectations for ourselves on our own terms? And maybe the biggest question: Have we reached a point where accountability itself is being treated as disrespect? The crew responds to the criticism, clarifies where we stand, and digs even deeper into the uncomfortable tension between community standards, cultural identity, respectability politics, and self-determination. Before things get heated, we kick off the episode with some classic TMC shenanigans, including predictions for Donell Jones vs. Joe, thoughts on Jonathan Majors’ career trajectory, and more. Later, The Shenanigan Report leads us into another heartbreaking conversation surrounding Black safety, violence, and the lessons we continue being forced to learn. In this episode:🔥 The backlash from our Tuskegee conversation ✊ Community accountability vs. respectability politics 🗣️ Can Black people establish standards without policing Blackness? 👀 The problem with centering every Black conversation around white approval 🎤 Donell Jones vs. Joe predictions 🎬 Jonathan Majors and the state of his career ⚠️ Another difficult conversation about Black safety 😂 Classic Talk My Credo shenanigans ⏱️ Chapter Timestamps00:00 – Intro & Shenanigans 09:00 – Donell Jones vs. Joe Verzuz Predictions 19:25 – Jonathan Majors’ New Movie & Career Falloff 35:15 – The Backlash From Last Week’s Episode 01:05:25 – Call Us Promo 01:06:10 – The Shenanigan Report 01:25:25 – Another Case of Black Safety & Tragic Lessons 01:51:23 – P Shaw’s Benediction 🎙️ Talk My Credo explores Black culture, community, politics, entertainment, relationships, and society through honest conversations, challenging perspectives, and plenty of humor. 💬 Join the conversation: • Can Black communities establish standards without engaging in respectability politics? • When does accountability become policing? • Are we too quick to describe criticism within the Black community as anti-Black? • Can standards exist completely independent of the white gaze? Tuskegee’s Bonnet & Durag Ban: Standards or Respectability Politics?
2026/08/05
Welcome back to Talk My Credo Podcast EP218! This week, the crew tackles the controversy surrounding Tuskegee University’s restrictions on bonnets and durags—and the much larger debate hiding underneath it: Is this community accountability, or is it respectability politics? Should historically Black institutions establish standards for how students present themselves, or do these policies unfairly police Black expression and place too much emphasis on gaining outside approval? The crew examines the difference between encouraging excellence and reinforcing respectability politics, the exhaustion many Black Americans feel from constant criticism, and whether some conversations about “protecting Black culture” remain too centered on white acceptance. We also explore enclothed cognition—the psychological idea that what we wear can influence how we think, behave, and perceive ourselves. Can dress standards positively shape an academic environment, or does that argument ignore the cultural meaning behind certain styles? After responding to Tuskegee University’s explanation and the public backlash, the crew moves into The Shenanigan Report to discuss racist criticism directed at Lupita over her portrayal of Helen of Troy, debates over race-conscious casting, the controversy surrounding Children of Blood and Bone, the future of Black Panther, and whether Black celebrities should be expected to guide the community. In this episode:🎓 Tuskegee University’s bonnet and durag controversy ⚖️ Community accountability vs. respectability politics 🧠 Enclothed cognition and the psychology of clothing ✊ Setting standards without policing Black identity 🎭 Racist backlash involving Lupita and Helen of Troy 🎬 Children of Blood and Bone casting discussions 🐾 The future of Black Panther and Chadwick Boseman’s legacy 🌟 Should Black celebrities guide the community? ⏱️ Chapter Timestamps00:00 – Intro & Shenanigans 11:25 – Tuskegee University Bans Bonnets & Durags 11:55 – Community Accountability or Respectability Politics? 39:45 – White-Centered Pro-Black “Activists” 41:55 – Black Fatigue From Constant White Criticism 44:30 – Enclothed Cognition & Setting Standards 52:15 – Tuskegee President Responds to the Backlash 01:05:28 – Break & Promo 01:06:10 – The Shenanigan Report 01:07:00 – Asian Man Insults Lupita Over Helen of Troy Portrayal 01:13:44 – Debating Casting Choices in Movies 01:19:55 – Children of Blood and Bone Casting Drama & Rumors 01:28:15 – New Black Panther Casting, Marvel & Chadwick’s Legacy 01:37:00 – Should Black Celebrities Guide Our Community? 01:44:00 – KT’s Benediction & Closing Shenanigans 🎙️ Talk My Credo explores Black culture, current events, politics, entertainment, relationships, and society through honest conversations, thoughtful perspectives, and plenty of humor. 💬 Join the conversation: • Are Tuskegee’s dress standards reasonable or disrespectful? • Can Black institutions promote professionalism without policing Black identity? • Is criticism of bonnets and durags about accountability—or outside acceptance? • How much does clothing influence behavior, confidence, and performance? • Should Black celebrities be expected to provide leadership for the community? Stop Calling Everything “Black Culture”
2026/07/31
Welcome back to Talk My Credo Podcast EP217! This week, the crew tackles a difficult but necessary question: What is the difference between Black culture and “ghetto” culture—and have we made the mistake of treating them as the same thing? The conversation begins with each member defining what the word “ghetto” means to them before examining the traditions, values, creativity, history, and shared experiences that make up Black culture. Are destructive behaviors sometimes defended simply because they exist within parts of the Black community? Does criticizing those behaviors unfairly attack Black people—or can honest criticism help protect and strengthen the culture? The crew debates whether struggle has become confused with identity, whether stereotypes are being reinforced from within and outside the community, and how we can separate authentic Black culture from behaviors that should not define an entire people. After the main discussion, the crew returns with The Shenanigan Report, covering the LeBron James-to-Philadelphia conversation, a heated Panthers versus Cowboys debate, Donald Trump’s latest antics, a review of Kevin Hart’s 72 Hours, Dee’s new tattoo, and plenty of classic Talk My Credo foolishness. In this episode:✊ Black culture versus “ghetto” culture 🧠 What the word “ghetto” actually means 🗣️ Are harmful behaviors being protected as culture? 🏀 The LeBron James and Philadelphia discussion 🏈 Carolina Panthers versus Dallas Cowboys 🎬 Kevin Hart’s 72 Hours review 😂 The Shenanigan Report and TMC crew moments ⏱️ Chapter Timestamps00:00 – Monologue 01:18 – Intro & Shenanigans 04:00 – Black Culture vs. Ghetto Culture 20:00 – What Does “Ghetto” Mean to You? 30:05 – Is Black Culture the Same as Ghetto Culture? 45:47 – Are We Protecting Ghetto Behavior as Black Culture? 01:01:55 – Break & Promo 01:02:40 – The Shenanigan Report 01:05:00 – LeBron James to Philadelphia Discussion 01:07:08 – Dee vs. P Shaw: Panthers & Cowboys Debate 01:15:43 – Trump Being Trump 01:29:05 – Kevin Hart’s 72 Hours Movie Review 01:59:44 – Dee’s New Tattoo by Brittney From Gaffney 02:00:44 – P Shaw’s Benediction 🎙️ Talk My Credo explores Black culture, current events, politics, entertainment, relationships, sports, and society through honest conversations, thoughtful perspectives, and plenty of humor. 💬 Join the conversation: • How would you define Black culture? • What does the word “ghetto” mean to you? • Can harmful behavior be criticized without attacking Black people? • Are struggle and dysfunction too often mistaken for authentic culture? Dear Jay-Z, Black Capitalism & Black Liberation Are NOT The Same...
2026/07/23
Welcome back to another episode of the Talk My Credo Podcast! This week, the crew moves from hilarious internet stories into a much deeper conversation about money, family, ownership, and Black liberation. We react to Jay-Z’s major New York performance, discuss his evolution from rapper to businessman, and examine what his success represents for the Black community. Does creating individual wealth translate into collective power—or have we confused Black capitalism with Black liberation? The conversation becomes even more personal as the crew breaks down a family conflict involving infidelity and money. Donte shares his own experience with financial disputes within a family, opening an honest discussion about loyalty, entitlement, boundaries, and how money can expose unresolved problems. We also address Memphis Bleek’s controversial perspective, the difference between supporting successful Black individuals and building sustainable Black institutions, and what real economic progress should look like for our communities. Before the deeper discussions, we react to a husband ending his relationship after his wife joined Chris Brown onstage, a Jersey Mike’s employee standing up to an entitled customer, World Cup celebrations, and plenty of classic TMC shenanigans. The Nolan Wells Story: When Tragedy Forces Us To Reflect
2026/07/15
Welcome back to *Talk My Credo Podcast #214!* This week starts with laughs but ends with one of our most heartfelt conversations yet. After Donte admits he completely slept on *Tierra Whack* and shares his favorite female artists, the crew dives into another edition of **The Shenanigan Report**, covering everything from **Conor McGregor's failed comeback**, the ongoing **Caitlin Clark and WNBA controversy**, viral internet moments, and World Cup drama. But the heart of this episode centers on the tragic story of **Nolan Wells**. Are We Destroying Our Own Culture? Yung Miami, India Aire, & The Great Disconnect
2026/07/08
This week, the crew dives into one of the most important cultural conversations in hip-hop right now: Is today's music helping or hurting Black culture? Using the controversy surrounding Yung Miami's "Spend Dat", along with criticism from India.Arie and Nicci Gilbert, and responses from Trick Daddy and Uncle Luke, we break down how music influences values, identity, and the next generation. Does art simply reflect culture—or does it actively shape it? Can we support artistic freedom while still holding space for accountability within our communities? Before we get into that, we kick things off with a recap of our July 4th weekend, react to some of the internet’s wildest viral moments—including racist Facebook groups getting trolled, the B2K vs. Pretty Ricky Verzuz, and a UPS driver who finally snapped on aggressive dogs—and even address some unexpected podcast drama. This is one of our most thought-provoking episodes yet—you don’t want to miss it.
