We really can't have anything nice. Why is it that people still believe that women are natural villains? We look at the movie Gone Girl and the real life implications it has had on crime victims. We watched Saltburn! And if you haven't seen it, it is probably best watched without knowing much about it, because once you start to analyze it, it kind of falls apart. But hey! At least it's pretty! Join the conversation! After a long hiatus, These Are Bad Movies is back, and.... a little rusty. Join Amy and Amanda as they discuss Bill & Ted Face the Music and why some franchises should just stay dead. Everything, Everywhere, All At Once is the most beautiful, sensitive, thoughtful, mother daughter drama to ever have an extended butt plug scene. Why? What are we really going for here?! Oh, and also there was all the crying in the movie theatre. What's wrong with us? Join the conversation! Nicolas Cage really will do any movie that's pitched to him, and he'll really give it his all. So.... Wicker Man has that going for it. And Nicolas Cage ALMOST makes up for the lack of plot, or character development, or writing. But seriously Hollywood, get your witches straight.  Join the conversation! Wait! This podcast is supposed to be about bad movies. What is this good movie?  First Blood? Rambo?  There is no possible way this is a good movie.  Join the conversation! The 2009 Star Teck movie takes bad to a whole new level. Just reviewing this movie was psychologically damaging. How did this one get a sequel? And why does J.J. Abrams get work? This week we get to look at Amanda's childhood dreams. Spoiler - she wanted to grow up to be Iron Man. Seems reasonable enough. What's wrong with that. Join the conversation! Raiders of the Lost Arc might be the single most important movie of Amy's childhood. Amanda, however, is not impressed. In this episode we tackle the tough issues like - Is Indiana Jones actually from Indiana? Is the museum blackmailing Indy, and if so, with what? And why does Amanda feel like kink shaming everyone in this movie? Join the conversation! From beloved children's book to problematic movie, Ender's Game is a fan favorite, but what does it say about our personal self image? Are there too many people who want to be the smartest person in the room? This all star cast at least packs a cinematic punch even if it is still a bad movie. Join the conversation! Possibly the second best YA dystopian fantasy novel ever written, Divergent really shows its true colors on the big screen. Amy is slightly (but not entirely) embarrassed to admit that she was a fan of this book when it was released. But, fan or not, this movie gets less enjoyable every time you watch it.
