Advertise on podcast: The Niner Guys

The 49ers became the winningest team in Monday Night Football history with their win over the Commanders, but it wasn't without stress. The offense cruised early, and the defense saved them late. And a few new faces made huge contributions! Plus, another loss for the Rams and Seahawks give the 49ers the biggest Division lead in the NFL.

The 2nd of the big Division Rival games is a win and moves the 49ers to 5-0.  This team can win in so many ways, highlighted this week by rookie Gracen Halton forced fumble in the end zone and recovery. The Niners continue to impress and stay unblemished.

Todd and Jerry discuss the 4-0 49ers, the warrior that is Mike Evans and the insanity that Dre Greenlaw played with. Plus, George Kittle sets a 49er Record, most TDs by a tight end, as does Kyle Shanahan, passing Bill Walsh for most 49er games coached. And now, a date with the Seahawks in Seattle. Let's Go!!

Brock Purdy is showing how elite he can be, and this 49er team looks to be just as elite. It was a perfect day in the NFC West for the Niners with both the Rams and Seahawks picking up unexpected losses. The Niners now prepare for a tough two game stretch, and continue to battle injuries. It's 3-0 time and it may be time to adjust our thoughts on just how good this team can be. Plus, a full swing around the NFL to talk about who's on the hot seat, which teams are the surprises, and which should already be looking towards next season.

Todd and Jerry discuss the question, are the 49ers the best team in the NFL after two weeks? They breakdown everything that has gone right, but also the things that have gone wrong (hint hint, more injuries). They whip around the NFL to talk about all the injuries, could Mac Jones now be a trade piece, which teams are the most disappointing and which ones have surprised us.

The 49ers dismantled the Rams in nearly every way possible. But, they did incur a few injuries. Purdy to Evans looked good. CMC and Black looked like a nice 1-2 punch in the running game. DBs looked like they had more confidence. And Fred Warner might the one of the most fun players to watch play football. Plus, a full reaction to the teams that surprised us and the ones that disappointed us in Week 1. Now, it's on to Week 2. Let's go!!

Todd and Jerry talk about the upcoming game in Australia. What to expect. And how the heck are the Rams going to not sleepwalk through this game when they arrive a day before kickoff? Plus, a breakdown of the NFL. Who do they say will win the divisions, who's the big surprise, where do they disagree, and most importantly where to they think the 49ers will finish. It's the last episode before real games can be discussed, the absolute calm before the storm. NFL season, here we go!!

Todd and Jerry talk about the final cuts, the initial 53 man roster, the surprises, and the WTF idea that they didn't keep a punter or long snapper initially. Uh, ok! They also give. a brief look ahead to their NFL preview episode with Todd making some bold predictions.

Todd and Jerry discuss everything, but the scope, for the Niners/Titans preseason game. Who looked good (Stribling) who didn't (run defense) and did we learn anything (maybe). But we quickly turn to the Chargers where we will see starters for the first time this preseason.  Who's making a charge for the roster? Who's slipping off the bubble?

Todd and Jerry went behind the scenes of training camp and discuss all the things they saw. Who looked good. Who looked great. And who looked like they may need to update their resume. Plus, we start to look at the roster and how it may take shape. The position that are still up for grabs and the big one, who's going to be the punter this year? It's training camp and a joint practice with the Titans, so lots to cover.

Todd and Jerry talk about the 1st week of training camp, the injuries that have set the team back, starting with the head coach, Kyle Shanahan. They also talk about the good they are seeing and hearing, Greenlaw, Stribling, Raheem Morris. Plus, the annual QB Tier Rankings are out. Where is Brock and is there any anger as to where he was ranked?

Todd and Jerry are back after a brief time off and close the book on a few offseason topics, like a retiring WR, a crazy WR and a possible WR reunion. Plus, we talk about what we are looking for as Training Camp starts. It's the last episode before real, on the field football begins. Strap on the helmet, it's football time!!

The latest NFL made-for-TV event was held recently, the unveiling of the schedule. And while we knew the opponents, we now know the order that they play. Where's the bye week? Any weather games? Any back to back road trips? We break it all down, plus, talk about rookie mini camp and the latest from Niners-land.

Even after a few days to reflect, there's not a lot of good to take away from the 49er draft. Is this who they are? Unable to draft? Reaching for players? Can they change their philosophy? All these questions are asked and discussed. We talk about each player, what we see in them and what they could possibly do to help the team.

While the Niners traded back to gather more picks, the players they ended up picking let A LOT to be desired. Questioning the front office is no longer out of bounds if these players don't out perform where most people thought they'd be drafted. While no big boards are the same, the 49ers seem to use one that is no where close to anyone else, and their picks recently have shown it. Needless to say, Todd and Jerry were NOT happy after the first 3 rounds of the draft.
