Today, October 7th, is my gotcha day! What that symbolizes is the day that my adoptive parents got to bring me home to be part of their family. Today I am talking to my cousins, Tina and Christine, about their own adoption and how we became a family. My cousins from Indiana came to the beach to hang with me and we took time to ”uncork” about growing up. We enjoyed sharing lessons learned from grandparents, parents, and each other. It was a great conversation that I am sure you will enjoy.

From the time I was in kindergarten and pretty much through my whole life it seemed as if there was always someone trying to quiet me.  But why?  There is so much to discuss, talk about, consider, questions to be asked… so many perspectives and new things to learn…. Why should that be quieted down?

Today's subject is hard, but it is one that needs more attention. Tomorrow (7/31) is the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons and my guest is just the one we needed this week. She is a survivor of human trafficking and has used her experience to share her knowledge to help people realize how widespread it is and how underreported it is as well.

Amy Nobile is the author of a book that has really affected my life called, "Just When You're Comfortable In Your Own Skin, It Starts to Sag: Rewriting the Rules to Midlife." When I messaged her to tell her how much this book had impacted me and that I would love to interview her, I really didn't expect her to say, "yes," but she did!
