Without further ado episode 21 is here and so is the BlacOak Wine Team. The past week was a busy one and the team covers a lot of territory from the passing of comedic legend Paul Mooney (RIP) to all the drama with the Joe Budden podcast and the new CDC announcements. Are we still even in a pandemic? In wine news during the recent French wine Fair, a question about the lack of diversity was brought up and the overall excuse was that companies fear "getting it wrong" so they don't try at all. The team debates the issue and talks about why this excuse doesn't cut it. In Somm School we talk about the alphabet boys of the wine industry, the governing bodies in various countries and regions that determine what wines can be made and which grapes can be harvested in particular areas, As always, don't forget to listen for and support our Black-owned wine of the week! Happy Monday! Episode 15 has arrived. The BlacOak team is back yet again with a lot to talk about and the squad jumps right into things this week . The group starts with trump lawyers still doing trump lawyery things.  There's a quick debate about whether the state of emergency declared at Miami Spring Break matches the freaknik foolery of the late 90's. Lamar wines about parking wars. Ameer has an issue with the headphone disabled in public and Eb brings some exposure to one of Philly's best and most underrated singers. This week we take a look at how the ghost of the orange presidency is still haunting the wine world but Big Joe came through like ghostbusters to rid the white house of those bad spirits, literally. Eb takes time to inspire people not to succumb to imposter syndrome. Silent Kev laments the fact that phantom injuries automatically start as soon as you hit your 30th birthday. There's also a pretty deep conversation about social action programs for black women and black men and whether they're really helpful thanks to Lamar.  In Somm School we explore pinot grigio vs pinot gris and how the 2 are different even though they come from the same grape. Also, it's the first black spring break in Miami post covid and college students reacted the way you would think college students would react. Kev wines about dirty cities and Eb tells the team why everyone needs blunt friends and disparaging remarks are welcomed.  Lamar hates pets and the team discusses required stemware in Somm School.
