Multiple Sclerosis Mamas
Breathing as a mindful practice
Key Takeaways:
Take your mess and turn it into your message. Your struggles and how you overcome them can have a huge impact on the lives of others.
Joining a community of people who are going through similar experiences to yours could help you overcome your struggle. There's nothing more fulfilling when you're with people who encourage, uplift, and accept one another.
Take a moment to breathe, no matter how busy you are. Sometimes all you need to do is take a deep breath, relax, and let things go.
"Know you are equipped for this, you can do this. And a lot of it comes down to breathe…think about what we hold in the breath. Emotions, memories, anger." — Clarissa Hidalgo

About Jon Giganti: Jon is a sales leader at CCC, a multi billion-dollar technology company where he has worked for the past 19 years. He believes that we are all works in progress and he is on a mission to learn, evolve, and grow alongside others.
He writes articles on leadership, performance, productivity, faith, and other topics as part of this mission. He also started the podcast With Intention to share these lessons with a larger audience. With Intention also features impact-makers from all over the world in an interview format.
In this episode, Adam and Jon discuss:
It's okay to not be okay
Pivoting by being vulnerable
How social media changes our perception
Helping your child with depression
How to fight depression
Key Takeaways:
It's okay to not be okay. Your feelings are valid, so don't be afraid to express them. It is difficult to open up, but once you do, those scars gradually dissolve and heal faster.
Do not be afraid to show your vulnerability. Being open about your fears and anxieties does not make you weak; rather, it is a characteristic of courageous people, and by being vulnerable, you encourage others to trust you and do the same.
No one's life is perfect. Tell your kids that social media is not real life, so don't let others' social media feeds make them feel inferior or that someone else's life is better than theirs.
Emotional support is the most important thing a child needs when dealing with depression. So do your best to stay present and make them feel that their feelings or what they're going through are valid, and that they're not alone.
Try to be as active and social as possible. Do physical activities, even if they are simple, as long as you are sweating. Also, don't be afraid to seek help if everything gets too overwhelming.
"Life is not about perfection. In fact, It think it's the imperfection that makes us who we are." — Jon Giganti

Holistic Healing with Gina Newton
2022/06/01
About Gina Newton: Gina is a spiritual and holistic lifestyle coach, a Reiki Master, and is the owner of Holistic Healing with Gina Marie. She is also very focused on strength and core restoration, and is passionate about postpartum health for women.
She founded her company to help women in shifting their energy through what they ate and how they moved their bodies. She helps her clients understand their personal patterns and how they may be linked to unhealed inner wounds from the past.
In this episode, Adam and Gina discuss:
Loving yourself
Releasing your stress and trauma
Become your own observer
Letting go of people who trigger you
Key Takeaways:
Loving yourself begins with how you eat and move on a daily basis. Nourish yourself with nutritious foods, movement, and sacred silence.
It is essential to get stress and trauma out of our bodies. Stress and trauma that are not released take up space in the body and can cause pain or other illnesses.
Paying attention to your feelings in your body, whether alone or with someone else, will help you learn a lot about yourself and the things that trigger you.
There's nothing wrong with cutting ties with people, even family members, who give you stress or are no longer serving you. Your feelings are valid, and you deserve peace of mind.
"We can sort of nourish or care for ourselves physically but if we're not nurturing and nourishing our spirit and our mindset, we can actually be very unwell." — Gina Newton

"Don't Just Sit There, DO Nothing" with author Jessie Kanzer
2022/05/25
About Jessie Kanzer: Jessie Asya Kanzer is the author of Don’t Just Sit There, DO NOTHING: Healing, Chilling, and Living with the Tao Te Ching — a book that combines ancient philosophy to help us live in the midst of current chaos.
Born as Asya Bronfman in the Soviet Union, Jessie emigrated to the U.S. at age eight after surviving a holocaust.
Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, New York Daily News, Wall Street Journal, The Independent, Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post, Ravishly, and Romper.
She lives in Dobbs Ferry, New York, with her two daughters and husband. She considers herself an expert in Doing Nothing.
In this episode, Adam and Jessie discuss:
Expressing your emotions
Don't just sit there, do nothing
Reinventing your identity
Fly your freak flag
Peace begins with you.
Key Takeaways:
Journaling, or doing whatever comes naturally to you in terms of expressing your emotions, is a crucial part of getting through your difficulties.
Stillness, or just a moment of getting quiet while deep breathing and connecting to the present moment is the key to healing and transformation.
There's nothing wrong with creating a new identity or reinventing yourself. Everyone has their own issues and labels that they wish to unlearn from the world, and if changing their identity or unlearning all they believe they know is how they deal, then let them.
Allow yourself to not be ashamed of your own wicked personality and stop attempting to conceal some aspects of yourself or your past. People will undoubtedly judge you, but keep in mind that we aren't designed to fit into some preconceived idea of normalcy.
If you want peace in the world, start with yourself. Be the change you want to see in the world. Change is inevitable, but taking steps in improving yourself to rise to the occasion and grow as a person will help to spread peace.
"Life is always a moving journey, you're not actually done. So just have a good time along the way. Don't stress too much, just chill out more. Don't just sit there, do nothing more." - Jessie Kanzer

Kellan has overcome decades of depression, addictions, life-threatening disease, and a near-death experience, and has become the ultimate catalyst to help determined people melt barriers, move mountains, and summon superpowers to achieve their genuine dreams. His excellent technique as a coach and keynote speaker helps people go through old experiences, modify attitudes, and create a life context to achieve even seemingly unattainable goals.
In this episode, Adam and Kellan discuss:
What meditation has done for Kellan
What is meditation?
The three principles of meditation
Beginner’s guide to meditation
Key Takeaways:
Meditating has saved Kellan from orthopaedic surgery, allowed him to deal with decades of depression, and cultivate a connection with the Divine.
Meditation is simply a practice. It is a physical, mental, and energetic or spiritual practice that allows you to do something that you don't do otherwise.
There are different styles of meditation in Kellan’s book, but they are all aimed at the three core principles. This includes slow down enough to be where you are, be still enough to notice what is there, and trust that what comes to you is truth.
Start with five minutes, make it fun. You can't do it wrong, just relax and put your thoughts up in the clouds and just watch them drift by just five minutes.
"We don't meditate to get good at meditation, we meditate to get good at life”. – Kellan Fluckiger

Getting rid of stress
The truth about mediation
Taking a break from technology
Making a change and improving your life
Key Takeaways:
You can get rid of stress through meditation, breath work and personal development. This could also help you really connect with who you were again.
Meditation is not about clearing the mind; it's about observing the mind and about surrendering and letting go.
Technology helps people stay connected in a variety of ways. However, this resulted in a sense of alienation, and people are now more than ever feeling alone. Instead of spending too much time on technology, practice yoga or engage in physical activity.
People can improve their lives by starting meditating, expressing gratitude, and practicing self-love.
“You can't develop, and you can't transform your life until you sit with yourself, and you become aware of your thoughts and become aware of your emotions and how you feel.” – Claire Morton

Laughter, mindfulness, and nature
Nature is worth protecting
Key Takeaways:
Everyone needs a “nature break”, especially today’s children who are stuck in front of a screen all day. Take a breath of fresh air and see just how profound the natural world is.
We all have an intrinsic understanding that laughter makes us happy and an innate feeling that being in nature is good to reduce stress - these are all truths that are backed up by science, and everybody, especially kids, need laughter, nature, and mindfulness.
Nature is worth protecting, being in nature or near it makes us happier, makes us feel less stressed and feel generally better. We have a deep, existential relationship with nature and our lives will be better spent in it and worse without it.

Change your mindset, change your life with Chelsea Riffe
2022/04/20
About Chelsea Riffe: She is a Mindset + Podcast coach, an entrepreneur and a podcast host herself of the show called “In My Non-Expert Opinion”. She helps her clients work through the mindset piece of the puzzle that's often ignored. She believes that the strategy and creative part is easy - since it's already inside us so she gives guidance on mapping it out and a plan to follow.
In this episode, Adam and Chelsea discuss:
Mindset is a huge part of life
Slowing down with yoga and meditation
Being mindful to be healthy
Key Takeaways:
Mindset is a huge part of life, no matter what career you’ve found yourself in. That’s why it’s important to keep gratitude at the front and center of your mind.
Slow down and check in with your body. Create an awareness within you - what is it really that’s stressing you out? What’s keeping you anxious every morning? The best way to do this is by practicing yoga and meditation.
The first step to living a healthier life is making a decision to do so. Be mindful of your routine, be mindful of how you feel whenever you’re done eating, be mindful of the places that you go to.
"That’s the importance of yoga and meditation - it gives you a sense of awareness, it gives you something to check in with yourself everyday, and it’s like the ultimate form of self-care, it’s checking in with your mind and body." — Chelsea Riffe

The Mind Body Connection with Rae Guerrero
2022/04/13
About Rae Guerrero: Raewyn Guerrero is The Gutsy Executive Coach, committed to helping you eliminate the guesswork around your stress, so that you can fine tune your biochemistry and become the CEO of not only your health, but your Life. After years chasing symptoms in the Conventional Medicine World to address her own Anxiety and IBS, she discovered the evidence-based, systems biology framework of Functional Medicine and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition. This approach revealed how the gut is connected to the brain, to hormones, to the skin – to pretty much all health. She’s been featured in the Huffington Post, the CW Network, and on numerous podcasts discussing a Nutrition and Psychology approach for Sleep, Panic Attacks and Anti-Aging. By offering a personalized roadmap for how to eat, think, sleep and move through the insights gained from Functional Labs, she’s set to change the face of healthcare and create a Well World.
In this episode, Adam and Rae discuss:
The difference with functional medicine
The importance of gut health
Eating for health, not convenience
Key Takeaways:
Functional medicine is all about going deeper into what’s causing the disease, bringing in all the factors of a being and not just focusing on treating the symptoms but on creating well being in the individual.
57% of your DNA is not human, it belongs to other microorganisms. There’s a trillion of them living in your digestive tract. What we eat will impact how our gut functions and that will affect our overall health and well-being.
Eat healthy. Don’t sacrifice your health for what is convenient. Eat some leafy greens, but remember that red meat is healthy too - just make sure you’ve got a source for grass-fed meat.
"[On chronic medication taking] Symptomatic relief while you’re trying to get the rest of the body working - that’s how it SHOULD be used. But instead, it’s being used as the treatment and the cure - and it’s not the cure." — Rae Guerrero

2022/04/06
About Carrie Severson: Carrie Severson is the CEO of The Unapologetic Voice House, an independent publishing agency. She has been in the storytelling space for more than 20 years. After being published by an independent publisher herself, she spent five years pitching literary agents in the hopes of being published traditionally. She desperately wanted that traditional publishing deal. After 100 rejections from literary agents, she launched the company that could help women just like her – unapologetic in their story and looking for support.

In this episode, Adam and Carrie Severson discuss:
Finding happiness and balance
Taking a time out
Taking self-care seriously
Key Takeaways:
“Curing” burnout is all about finding happiness to balance out the stress and pressure that you feel on a day to day basis.
Take a time out. Decompress from your stress. Hear your intuition and start to trust it. Meditate and release your stress.
Creating boundaries is the opposite of burnout. Block out time in your schedule for yourself and attribute importance into that time. Take self-care seriously
