freedomGIVER Chapter 8
2026/10/29
Lesson 8: The Redemption of Your Story Within God’s Good Purpose | Key #5
Because Jesus has redeemed us, our stories are held within God’s good purpose. Even when we cannot understand our circumstances or see how everything fits together, we can trust the One who holds our stories.
In this episode of freedomGIVER, we explore how understanding God’s story helps us see our own lives through a different lens. Rather than allowing our circumstances, disappointments, or regrets to define our stories, we can remember who God is and trust that His redemptive work is unfolding, even in the chapters that remain unfinished.
Through personal stories and Scripture, we consider:
How understanding His story helps us understand our own.
How His character changes the way we read our circumstances.
How His redemption is at work while our stories remain unfinished.
How we can entrust the unwritten chapters of our lives to Him.
Here are three truths to remember as you consider your own story:
God knows your entire story. Every day of your life is known to Him. Psalm 139:16
God is working within your story. He is able to work all things together for good according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
God will continue His work in you. What He has begun, He will bring to completion. Philippians 1:6
A question to carry with you: What might change if, instead of trying to understand everything happening in your story, you focused on knowing and trusting the One who holds it?

Lesson 7: The Relationship Through His Spirit | Key #4
God’s greatest gift is Himself. Through His Spirit, He gives us His continual presence and invites us into an ongoing relationship with Him.
In this episode of freedomGIVER, we explore how Scripture and prayer help us remember who our Father is, who we are as His children, and the truth that we are never on our own. We listen through His Word and respond in prayer, carrying that conversation into everyday life.
Through personal stories and Scripture, we consider:
• His faithfulness as the foundation of our relationship.
• His Spirit’s abiding presence.
• Hearing from Him through His Word.
• Prayer as a conversation with our Father.
• How remembering His nearness changes the way we live.
Here are three reminders to quickly connect with God:
Ask God to show you His purposes. Psalm 57:2Stay in His Word for confidence and assurance. Psalm 119:105Remember you cannot do this on your own. Ask for His Spirit’s help. Romans 8:5–6A question to carry with you: How might remembering that God is near change the way you approach your day?

Lesson 6: Key #3 — The Riches of Your Father’s Love
What changes when you remember that you are God’s beloved child? In this episode, we explore the riches of your Father’s love and the freedom of knowing you belong to Him. Through Jesus, you have been welcomed into His family. You can stop living as though you are on your own and begin resting in His love, acceptance, and care.
Through stories and Scripture, Anna invites you to remember: God is in control. God is good. I am His child.
In this lesson:• The cross made your adoption possible.• Your Father loves and accepts you just as you are.• You belong to Him and are worthy and valuable.• Remembering whose you are changes how you face fear and uncertainty.

Chapter 5: The Righteousness of Jesus | Key #2 | freedomGIVER
If we have been reconciled to God through Jesus, how can we possibly stand before a perfectly holy God?
In Chapter 5, The Righteousness of Jesus, Anna introduces the second key to freedom: the incredible reality that because of Jesus, we have been given a right standing before God that we could never earn or achieve on our own. We no longer have to prove our goodness or work to maintain God's acceptance. His righteousness is a gift we receive through faith.
Through stories, Scripture, and reflection, we'll explore the goodness and purposes of God's Law, the relationship between Law and grace, and how the gospel changes the way we understand obedience. We don't obey to earn God's favor. We learn to obey because we have already received it.
I believe that because of Jesus, I am fully righteous before God, not because of what I do, but because of what He has done for me.

Chapter 4: Reconciliation Through Christ | Key #1 | freedomGIVER
How can broken, sinful people have access to a perfectly holy God?
In Chapter 4, Reconciliation Through Christ, Anna introduces the first key to freedom: the incredible reality that because of Jesus, our broken relationship with God has been restored. Through Christ’s once-for-all sacrifice, we have been brought near and given access to God as our Father.
Through stories, Scripture, and reflection, we’ll explore atonement, reconciliation, mercy, and grace and discover what it means to be in Christ. We no longer stand outside trying to earn our way in. Jesus has made the way.
I believe that because of Jesus, I am fully reconciled to God and have access to Him as my Father.

Chapter 3: Unlocking Your Unbelief | freedomGIVER
What do we do when we believe in God but struggle to believe Him in a particular place?
In Chapter 3, Unlocking Your Unbelief, Anna introduces the lock in the imagery of freedomGIVER. What we believe about God, ourselves, and our circumstances shapes how we live. When we hold to what is true, the lock opens. When we believe what is false, the chains can feel tightly fastened.
Through stories and Scripture, we’ll consider the connection between belief, trust, and faith. We’ll also look at repentance as an invitation to return to God, and learn to look beneath our behavior for the unbelief at its root. We can bring even our struggle to believe to the One who meets us with grace.

Chapter 2: The Chains That Bind You | freedomGIVER
What keeps us from living in the freedom Jesus has already given us?
In Chapter 2, The Chains That Bind You, Anna takes us into the bigger story of Scripture, from Eden to Eternity, to help us understand how brokenness entered our world and why we still feel its effects today. Even though we belong to Christ, we can find ourselves living as though old chains still have power over us.
Through stories, Scripture, and reflection, we’ll begin identifying some of the chains that weigh us down and the beliefs beneath them. We’ll also look at the things we reach for to give us what only God can provide, and discover the grace that continues to meet us there. The chains may be real, but they are not our master.

Chapter 1: A Treasure Bigger Than You’ve Ever Imagined | freedomGIVER
What if the gospel is more than the message that saves us? What if it is an invitation into a treasure far greater than we have ever imagined?
In Chapter 1, A Treasure Bigger Than You’ve Ever Imagined, we begin by going back to the gospel itself, not simply as the starting point of our faith, but as the truth we are invited to live in every single day. We’ll explore what it means to come to God like a little child, to recognize the difference between inspiration and invitation, and to begin seeing the gospel as an inheritance to receive rather than a paycheck to earn.

Episode 22, Jane Harris - Connecting With God
2024/04/28
"Meditation" — Every time I hear my Mama, Jane Harris, say that word it makes me want to know more about what she means by this. I've gathered my questions and we sat down to have a conversation about meditation and its impact on how we spend time with God. Incidentally, this is her birthday weekend and her life's Scripture is Psalm 27:4, "One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple." I hope you will be as encouraged as I am after listening to this.
I'd love to let you know when my children's book, You Can See Him, Little Eyes Looking at a Big God, is available. Visit annanash.net to be notified.
The scriptures we mention:
Psalm 27:4 (NASB) "One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple."
Psalm 1:2,3 (ESV) ...but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
Isaiah 26:3 (ESV) You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
Romans 10:17 (NKJ) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Psalm 119:165 (NIV) Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
Episode 21 - May Your Soul Feel Worthy This Christmas
2023/12/11
I'm really excited to share this Christmas Message with you—it's all about the incredible depth of the heartfelt message from God to us through His Son, Jesus. As I speak about Jesus being the ultimate representation of God's love, forgiveness, and hope, it's truly impactful to realize these teachings don't just apply in our darkest moments but also in our everyday lives. Just like those timeless Christmas carols that touch our hearts, reminding us of our value and the promise of peace, these truths resonate deeply with the warmth and hope of the season...that is Jesus, our Savior.
HERE is the copy of Christmas in the book of Hebrews that I mentioned. Please print it out and be encouraged reading more about Jesus being the ultimate connection between God and people.
Bible Verses in today's Christmas message:
John 1:1-5
Hebrews 1:3
Personal Processing Questions:
How can you actively seek and recognize Jesus' heartfelt messages of love, forgiveness, and hope in your daily life? Seek to remember that Jesus embodies God's ultimate message to you.
In what ways can you draw strength and guidance from Jesus' teachings during challenging times, allowing his message of light in darkness to impact your thoughts and actions?
Reflecting on the promise of peace and reconciliation highlighted in Christmas carols, how can you contribute to fostering peace and extending forgiveness in your relationships and communities this holiday season?
P.S. A couple of years ago my dear friend Katy Shelton and I wrote an Advent Devotional called Christmas Matters. You can go HERE to order it.

Episode 20, Discovering A New, Unexpected Path
2023/08/15
This was a talk that I gave at a monthly meeting called Coffee & Connection in Birmingham for our Non-Profit called Beacon People. (To learn more go to beaconpeople.org) You may or may not have heard the news that my husband, Tyler and I recently had to permanently close the coffee shop we owned and operated for almost seven years. We have poured our life into Innova Coffee and the experience has been indescribable! This was an unexpected turn in the path that God had planned for our future all along but the closing was extremely unexpected by us! Listen to the story and also hear the truths that have kept me feeling stable and secure throughout. I hope God's Word will encourage you today.
HERE is the story video behind Innova Coffee.

Episode 19, D'Anna Lundstrom - Connecting With God
2023/07/02
I recently engaged in a heartfelt conversation with a close friend and precious believer in Jesus, D'Anna Lundstrom, who graciously shared her sacred encounters and wisdom about how she spends time with God. D'Anna's journey with God is guided by two words: desperation and dependence, propelling her to devote meaningful moments in solitude with God. Her sincere humility permeates her voice and her enthusiasm for Scripture and prayer shines brightly. You'll see evidence through her social media posts adorned with verses, sunsets, and butterflies. D'Anna embraces diverse approaches in her solitary moments with God using prayer, studying the Bible, worship, journaling, and communing with Him in nature. Let's embark on a journey into the captivating depths of D'Anna's inspiring testimony and, God willing, unearth how each of us can dig a little deeper as we connect with Him.

2023/05/25
"I love reading my old Bible," Marnie shares tenderly with me. As I visit with her you can tell by the tone of her voice how deeply meaningful her alone time with God seems to be. Her favorite tool is journaling. Her favorite book of the Bible is Isaiah. In fact, she has created a podcast called, "Meet Me in Isaiah", where she helps her audience find Jesus in the book of Isaiah. You can connect with her on her website https://meetmeinisaiah.com/ .
In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. Psalm 5:3
