Rosenior Ruckus, Andros Accident, and new Diaspora Duty
2026/09/23
As we begin the first of the new extended international breaks, we celebrate some of the new British-born/raised players declaring for countries outside the UK. Wimbledon wing back Steven Sessegnon has popped up with a Turks & Caicos passport, Zimbabwe call up a Liverpool academy product, while Anguilla and their new Welsh coach invite two brothers from non-league to their camp. There's also two Scottish siblings making headlines with their inclusion in Ugandan underage squads, while two recognisable names from English football take new coaching roles in AFC.
Plus, a reflection of our contingent in club action over the weekend, as Liam Rosenior gives it the big one to his old club, Billy Gilmour completes his Napoli glow-up, and Andros Townsend somehow avoids a freak injury in Thailand...

Harry Kane is 150 up for Bayern Munich
2026/09/15
This week, we salute Harry Kane on another mad milestone in his time at Bayern with 150 goals in 153 games. As Liam Rosenior goes viral again, we ask if he is safest away from the cynical British psyche, while in Italy we have Scottish striker Kieran Bowie rattling Juventus again.
Plus, Archie Brown's first Champions League night takes some unexpected turns, Burnley player Marcus Edwards looks set to declare for Cyprus, and Phil Brown throws his hat in the ring for a LinkedIn gig...

Rosenior and Cathro flying high in the French leagues
2026/09/09
With players settling into their new clubs abroad, we have updates on the debuts of Ethan Nwaneri, Cameron Archer and Mikey Moore, among others. The new managers aren't doing too bad either, with Liam Rosenior up to second place in Ligue 1 and former Hearts boss Ian Cathro breaking records with his start to life at St Etienne.
Meanwhile, Che Adams adds another gem to his Serie A goal collection, a young Londoner bags a quickfire brace for Strasbourg, while Trent failed to impress Jose Mourinho with a midfield stint in the Champions League.
Plus, late transfers abroad as players head to Turkiye and MLS. Which club in the Middle East has reportedly offered refuge to Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling? Listen and find out!

Deadline Day Drama with Balogun, Nwaneri & more
2026/09/02
Caught your breath yet? The transfer window has now closed for most of Europe, after a week which saw a shedload of Brits move abroad, so Joe and guest co-host Jack Pierce (FYP Podcast) talk through the highlights including moves for Reiss Nelson, Nathan Patterson and (finally) Abdul Abdulmalik.
Also discussed are fun loan deals for Omari Hutchison at Milan, Harvey Elliott at Valencia and Cameron Archer at Auxerre. Plus many, many more transfers including those players abroad heading home and those deals that failed to materialise such as the remarkably late change of heart from Monaco striker Folarin Balogun at Everton.

400,000 reasons for Ollie Watkins
2026/08/25
With more European campaigns getting underway, we have the chance to see what our British contingent abroad might have for us this season. Anthony Gordon begins life at Barca with two assists, Robbie Ure's first Sevilla start is a deliberately exhausting one, while Jack Harrison's life back in MLS is off to a flyer. Plus, we discuss Che Adams' early Goal of the Season contender.
The transfer window remains open so there are plenty of updates to bring you, namely Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins set for a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League. Elsewhere, an Englishman has broken the domestic transfer record in Kyrgyzstan, while Swedish side Djurgadens are still doing their best to break the National League transfer record for Boreham Wood winger Abdul Abdulmalik...

New Season, New Moves Abroad!
2026/08/19
We're back! Enduring the British heatwave (just), we return with the last few months of updates as more and more British footballers and coaches leave the UK for clubs and leagues around the world. There's the big names (Djed Spence and John Stones at Inter!), the surprising moves (Robbie Ure to Sevilla?!) and exciting managerial appointments as Liam Rosenior returns to where he's loved in Ligue 1 and Scottish manager Ian Cathro takes charge at a sleeping giant. So much to round up, so try to keep up!
Just as interesting to discuss are the moves that may still happen - Jamie Vardy to Sao Paulo, anyone? - and the ones that got away. Did you know, for example, that a Swedish side offered £1m for a National League winger? We have so many questions...

Anthony Gordon to Barca?!
2026/06/03
We're back from our respective trophy wins to reflect on the end of the club season for our British boys playing or coaching abroad. There was another medal (and hat-trick) for Harry Kane, La Liga promotion for Charlie Patino, and Lee Johnson leading his Lommel SK side to the Belgian top flight.
Meanwhile, the likes of Jamie Vardy, Christian Burgess and Wilfried Zaha said goodbye to their overseas clubs for pastures new. Beginning a new adventure abroad, however, is Anthony Gordon! The winger looks to have got a permanent move to Barcelona ahead of Marcus Rashford, and by the looks of the press conference, has been preparing for the move his whole life...
Plus, we talk the British-born players at the World Cup in squads outside the UK.

Kieron Bowie scores at the San Siro
2026/05/19
It's another big focus on the Brits in Serie A this week as Jamie Vardy does his very best to keep Cremonese in the top flight, Kieron Bowie adds another Serie A stadium to his goal collection, and we ask if Scott McTominay needs to follow Antonio Conte out of Napoli?
Elsewhere, Harry Kane ends the Bundesliga season with another hat-trick, Yorkshire striker Sam Cosgrove fires his Auckland side to the A-League Grand Final, and Raheem Sterling is the subject of a controversial write-up at The Athletic. Plus, international call-up coverage as British born/raised diaspora are among World Cup squads emerging around the globe, and a Manchester United teenager capped for England under-16s gets a huge opportunity with Russia...

Chris Coleman's Pirate Blood
2026/05/14
Marcus Rashford's free-kick kicked off the El Clasico win that Barcelona needed to confirm their La Liga title. We congratulate him and the other Brits abroad who won silverware in the last week, from Belgium and Greece to Thailand and Jordan.
There's also plenty from the Brits in Italy, as Jamie Vardy rolled back the years to give Cremonese hope of Serie A survival, Udinese striker Keinan Davis demands action on racist abuse from an opponent, and Ashley Cole fails to meet his remit at Cesena. Plus, more news from our Bayern duo, Diaspora Duty call-ups and the British pair shortlisted for the Bangladesh national team...
What next for Tariq Lamptey's career? Could a Partick Thistle midfielder play for Poland? Where is Chris Coleman from? Tell us your thoughts @intlclearance and follow your hosts @ohjoewalker and @isthatscully

Jude Bellingham's game of thrones?
2026/05/06
As our overseas contingent seek progress in continental competitions this week, we reflect on some of the amazing performances in the Champions League first legs. We also discuss Mason Greenwood's 0/10 in the French press as Marseille's season fizzles out, Kieron Bowie has a career highlight at Juventus, while Yannick Bolasie finally breaks his duck for Chapecoense.
Plus: Jude Bellingham's Instagram sets tongues wagging, Ivan Toney runs from the beef, and a former Scotland striker is thrust into a caretaker role overseas in unfortunate circumstances.

Rashford scores again amid speculation on future
2026/04/28
It's European Semi Final week, and by the time you hear this Michael Olise has scored another dazzler in the Champions League at PSG. We discuss his & Harry Kane's continued contributions at Bayern, as well as their much-discussed futures at the Bavarian club.
Elsewhere, speculation hots up as Marcus Rashford's future at Barcelona looks increasingly like another saga. All he can do is keep helping them out, and he got another good goal over the weekend in La Liga. Plus, some brief Diaspora Duty chat as Robbie Ure denies media rumours about his international future and Nigeria cast their eye on an English-raised duo from the EFL Championship.

Coach Jonjo
2026/04/22
Congrats to Harry Kane and Michael Olise on another Bundesliga title - can they go for a treble this year? Based off that Champions League quarter final, why not?
Meanwhile, Gary O'Neil masterminds an incredible Strasbourg comeback (and McDonald's order) in the Conference League, while Jonjo Shelvey takes his first steps into management out in Dubai. Jesse Lingard scores his first goal in Brazil, Ashley Cole admits more challenges at Cesena, and Billy Gilmour makes a questionable purchase for his back garden...

Diaspora Duty: James Lester on his Trinidad & Tobago call-up
2026/04/01
A huge international break saw the final World Cup places decided, with some of our Diaspora Duty contingent confirming their summer plans. Burnley defender Axel Tuanzebe scored his first DR Congo goal to see off a Jamaica side that handed a debut to a London-born Spurs youngster in their crucial play-off. Meanwhile, in Europe, Graham Potter led Sweden to a remarkable qualification after failing to win any games in their group stage (respect the Nations League, folks).
Elsewhere, Somalia made the group stage of AFCON Qualifying for the first time in their history, thanks in part to three British born or raised starters (including Baller League headline-maker Sak Hassan), South Londoner Martial Godo gets a goal and assist on his first Ivory Coast senior cap, while a debut Austria goal for Carney Chukwuemeka sends a dagger to Ghanaian hearts to perhaps appease any Nigerian fans he chose not to play for...
Plus, a special interview with 19-year-old Llanelli defender James Lester, who was a surprise call-up for Trinidad & Tobago in this international break. We hear about his family connection to the Soca Warriors and his experience jetting from the Cymru Premier to Bolivia!
