There’s no question that grassers these days have a plethora of incredible talent in the genre to model their skills and talents after. One name that has remained at the top of that list for many years and shows no sign of slowing down is the unparalleled banjo starlet and sweet songstress, Gena Britt. There are few in the business today that can come close to matching Gena’s stout banjo drive or the tender tones in her vocal. Britt is also a sought after fill in bass player on the circuit. Whether on bass or banjo, she is depended on as a call one can make to take the stage with their band and fit like a glove with any style, set list or performance. She is a true professional. She also did a four year stint with her own band, The Gena Britt Band. As a graduating member of Leadership Bluegrass, Class of 2003, Britt went on to become a founding member of The Daughters of Bluegrass and was a featured artist on all of their recording projects. Other members include co-founding partner Deanie Richardson, Jaelee Roberts,  Dani Flowers, Rainy Miatke, & Katie Blowmars - Kimball. Sister Sadie was nominated for a GRAMMY in 2019 for their second studio release “II” on Pinecastle Records and received their second GRAMMY nomination in 2025 for their first release on Mountain Home entitled "No Fear". Randy Wood is an American master luthier, instrument builder, and music entrepreneur known for his influence on the modern vintage-instrument industry and the bluegrass and roots music community. Over a career spanning more than five decades, Wood has built and repaired instruments for many of the biggest names in country, rock, and bluegrass while also operating one of the South’s most respected acoustic music venues. Randy Wood grew up in a musical and woodworking family. His father was a carpenter and woodworker, and music was a common part of family life, with relatives frequently playing and singing together. Those two influences—woodworking and music—would shape Wood’s lifelong career as a luthier. By the 1960s, Wood had begun developing his craft of instrument repair and building, quickly gaining a reputation for meticulous work and a deep understanding of acoustic instruments. In the early 1970s, Wood moved to Nashville and became a founding partner in GTR, Inc., a pioneering vintage instrument shop located behind the Ryman Auditorium. The business was started with fellow musicians and dealers Tut Taylor and George Gruhn, and it later evolved into the famous Gruhn Guitars. Because of its proximity to the Grand Ole Opry and Nashville recording studios, the shop quickly became a gathering place for musicians needing repairs, vintage instruments, or simply a place to pick. During this period, Wood built and repaired instruments for legendary performers including Bill Monroe, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Chet Atkins, Eric Clapton, and Keith Richards. Wood later partnered with Taylor to open the original Old Time Pickin' Parlor, a combination music store, repair shop, and performance space that became a hub for bluegrass musicians and fans in the early 1970s. In 1979, Wood sold the Nashville business and returned to coastal Georgia. For many years he operated a small workshop and mail-order business while building custom instruments. Over time he produced more than 1,500 handmade instruments, including guitars, mandolins, banjos, dobroes, and violins, many of which are used by professional musicians around the world. In 1999, Wood established Randy Wood Guitars, a guitar shop, repair center, and instrument workshop near Savannah. He also built a small concert venue called Randy’s Old-Time Pickin’ Parlor, an intimate hall known for hosting world-class acoustic performers in bluegrass, country, and Americana music. The venue has become a regional destination for roots music fans and regularly features nationally recognized artists in an intimate setting. Randy Wood is widely regarded as a pioneer of the modern vintage instrument business and one of the most respected repairmen and builders in acoustic music. His influence extends beyond instrument making; through his shops and the Pickin’ Parlor, he helped create gathering places where musicians could meet, jam, and share traditions that shaped American roots music. His ability to paint mental pictures has been compared to Raymond Carver, Flannery O'Connor, and even Norman Rockwell. His laid back, conversational singing style has been likened to Don Williams, Guy Clark, and John Denver. So, when the easy softness of this southern baritone delivers these lyrical short stories, it's no wonder that both his peers and journalists alike call Daryl Mosley a “songwriter's songwriter.” Daryl writes and sings about life as he knows it: small towns, rural churches, salt-of-the-earth people, family, and faith. He leans heavily on songs about the victories and challenges of everyday people because these are HIS people. For over three decades, the combination of these exquisitely crafted songs along with his understated delivery and gentle personality has been engaging music lovers in a way that few artists can. Mosley still resides in his hometown of Waverly, Tennessee - the small, Mayberry Esque hamlet just west of Nashville where he grew up. The experiences of life, work, faith, and love that resonate so strongly in this community are the very foundation of his songwriting. And when he sings those songs, the characters and scenes come alive as if they were sitting on the front porch with you. Music legends from Tom T. In 2001, he joined the legendary Osborne Brothers. In 2010, he formed the band The Farm Hands who quickly became one of the most awarded acts in Bluegrass. This marriage has taken him to the pinnacle of musical stages and venues ranging from the Grand Ole Opry to the legendary Bluebird Cafe to even West Point Military Academy. In 2020, Mosley stepped more directly into the spotlight with the release of his first solo project for Pinecastle Records -'The Secret of Life.' It was a collection of eleven songs written or co-written by Mosley that were both plain spoken and lyrically clever. The album reached #1 on the Roots Music Report as did the first single, “A Few Years Ago” and the spiritual “Do What The Good Book Says.” Critically acclaimed by both the media and industry peers, The Secret Of Life was praised by American Songwriter Magazine, SiriusXM, Bluegrass Today, Country Music People, Bluegrass Unlimited, MusicRow, Country Standard Time, No Depression, and more. The November 2021 release of Mosley's 'Small Town Dreamer' album featured a dozen original songs including three that reached the #1 spot on the charts; the nostalgic “Transistor Radio," the heart tugging “Mama's Bible” and the spiritual “He's With Me" that hit #1 on Cashbox Magazine's chart. In July of 2023, Daryl released his third solo album, 'A Life Well Lived.' The acclaimed album reached the top of the album charts as well as garnering three #1 songs: "Mayberry State of Mind" (along with the hit music video), as well as gospel chart toppers "The Bible in the Drawer" and "Big God". In 2024, Mosley released his current album, "Long Days & Short Stories."  The project is his fourth for Pinecastle Records and features the #1 songs "Me and Mr. Howard," "When the Good Old Days Were New," and "When I Can't Reach Up." Tidalwave Road hails from Williamsburg, KY in the heart of the Daniel Boone Country, the “Gateway to The Cumberlands,” and a hotbed for high energy, foot-stomping bluegrass music. First formed in 2012, the current members include Ben Parker (banjo), Carlie Parker (mandolin), Daniel Parker (bass), and Robert Sulfridge (guitar). As winners of the 2023 SamJam Festival Band Competition, sponsored by Pinecastle Records, the band was launched with their grand prize recording from Pinecastle’s Bonfire Recording Studio in Piedmont, SC. Recorded and Produced by Steve Wilson, the BONFIRE SESSIONS became Tidalwave Road's first professional collection to be released worldwide. Newly signed on to Pinecastle Records and industry agent, Wilson Pickins Promotions, with the success of their first effort, the band began pre-production on their first full length project due out in 2025. SKIN AND BONE released October 24, 2025, following three successful single releases that included a heightened level of airplay on SiriusXM Bluegrass Junction, terrestrial and streaming radio. Tim is a prolific songwriter, with over 300 songs recorded. He co-wrote IBMA's 2008 Song of the Year, "Through the Window of a Train," and was named IBMA's Songwriter of the Year in 2014, 2017 and 2023. In addition, he is a sought-after studio musician, having recorded with over 75 artists in addition to Blue Highway, including Willie Nelson, Kenny Chesney, Jorma Kaukonen, Jesse McReynolds, Benny Sims, Marty Raybon, Joe Isaacs, Ronnie Bowman, Charles Sawtelle, Tony Trischka, Larry Sparks, Jim Mills and many others. Tim was named SPBGMA Guitar Performer of the Year in 2001 and 2015. He has produced many award-winning records for various artists, including Kenny Chesney, The Infamous Stringdusters (IBMA 2007 co-album of the Year) , and Knee Deep in Bluegrass, the Acutab Sessions (IBMA 2001 Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year). Tim performed many times with Hazel Dickens, including the Lincoln Center in New York (2006), Sundance Film Festival, Park City, UT (2005), Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, San Francisco, CA (2010), and Wintergrass, Tacoma WA (2003). He has taught at nearly all the bluegrass-oriented camps, including Rockygrass Academy, Camp Bluegrass (South Plains College, TX), Augusta Heritage, Wintergrass Academy, Sore Fingers (UK), Bluegrass at the Beach, Nashcamp, Kaufman's Flatpicking Camp, California Bluegrass Association Camp at Grass Valley, St. Louis Flatpick, Resosummit, Summergrass Academy, Grand Targhee, Great Lakes Music Camp, Bluegrass Masters Weekend, Monroe Mandolin Camp, Bryan Sutton's Blue Ridge Guitar Camp, ETSU Summer Camp, Ashokan Bluegrass Camp, MBOTMA Fall Jam Songwriting workshop intensive and Nashville Flatpick and Songwriting Camp. Tim worked on a PhD in History at Miami University in the mid 1980s. He has taught American History, Western Civ, Appalachian Studies, Mass Communications and Popular Culture, Personal instruction in guitar and banjo, American Roots Music, Songwriting and Bluegrass-related courses at several colleges and Universities, including Miami, East Tennessee State, and Appalachian State University. In 2010, he and Caroline Wright co-authored Still Inside: The Tony Rice Story, the critically-acclaimed authorized biography of bluegrass Hall of Fame member and living legend Tony Rice. Tim gave the keynote address at the 1994 IBMA World of Bluegrass in Owensboro, KY and has been on the IBMA Board of Directors four different times, serving as Vice Chair from 1995 to 1998. He is a former Board member of the Foundation for Bluegrass Music and currently sits on the Bluegrass Hall of Fame Nominating Committee. On May 8, 2015, Tim was named a Distinguished Alumnus in the Arts by the East Tennessee State University National Alumni Society. From 2023-25, he was the Artist in Residence in the Bluegrass, Old-Time and Roots Studies Program at ETSU. Tim released his first solo record, Endless Line in 2004 on FGM Records to critical acclaim. It was nominated for IBMA’s Instrumental Recording of the Year in 2005. His second, Just to Hear the Whistle Blow, was released in July 2014; his third, Acoustic Guitar, in September 2017. His fourth solo record, Tunes and Ballads, was released in 2020 and his fifth, Guitar Melodies in 2023. Other projects include five duet records--one with the late Steve Gulley, Dogwood Winter, in 2010 and What We Leave Behind:  A Songwriters' Collection, with Bobby Starnes in 2018, as well as the final Gulley/Stafford duet record on Mountain Home Records released in March 2021, Still Here. Tim and Thomm Jutz collaborated on Lost Voices, a duet record on Mountain Fever released in February 2023, as well as Wall Dogs (2024). 

Valerie Smith is a well-known Grassicana artist who blends bluegrass, country, and Americana music seamlessly. She has received multiple awards for her passionate and soulful performances. NPR radio host Dave Higgs aptly described her as "sassy, sultry, siren-like, sweet, smooth, soothing, and smoldering - sometimes just in one song!" Valerie's music journey began when she recorded her first album, "Patchwork Heart," with Alan O'Bryant, a Grammy award-winning composer, producer, instrumentalist, and recording artist of the Nashville Bluegrass Band. The album's release included a song called Red Clay Halo, written by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, which reached the top charts for Bluegrass Unlimited Radio Survey, Country Music, and Americana reporting, remaining on the list for five years. It was voted by the bluegrass community to be one of the top 60 songs of the decade. Valerie Smith owns Bell Buckle Records, Publishing, and Media and has produced many successful albums, including Julie Gold's Grammy-winning song "From a Distance." She has also produced a new musical called "Maggie's Journal," which will be out and included in some performances in 2024. Valerie is working with Donna Ulisse on a new release called "Songbird Road," which will be released on Bell Buckle Records in late spring 2024. Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike have dominated the bluegrass music scene for over two decades with their electrifying performances and critically acclaimed recordings. The band's lineup includes Wally Hughes on dobro and fiddle, Lisa Kay Howard Hughes on mandolin, Joe Zauner on banjo and guitar, Stephen Hu on upright bass, and Valerie Smith on guitar and lead vocals. They are a powerhouse of talent and passion, combining traditional and contemporary styles to create a unique sound that embodies bluegrass music. Born and raised in the foothills of southwest Virginia, Olivia Jo is an up-and-coming bluegrass artist and versatile singer-songwriter that got her start in music as a child, cutting her teeth on traditional bluegrass, country and acoustic music. Her passionate, powerful vocals coincide with her honest, heartfelt delivery on stage, creating an enjoyable experience for both traditionalists and new listeners alike. With her soulful voice and a heart full of love for music, Olivia Jo is dedicated to carving out her own space in the bluegrass scene, drawing from a rich tapestry of musical influences and life experiences to authentically express herself as an artist and songwriter.  Olivia grew up in the small town of Stuart, Virginia, an area nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and rich in bluegrass tradition, where she got her start in bluegrass at a very young age.  She began singing basically when she could talk and learning guitar from her dad at age six. The first song he taught her to sing and play was Bill Monroe's "Blue Moon of Kentucky", which opened the door to the music that would shape her entire life. A few years later, she started playing local venues and festivals in her surrounding areas at the age of nine where she began to establish a name for herself. She recorded two bluegrass albums by the time she was 12 years old with which she enjoyed moderate success and gained exposure in radio and television. At 13, she was one of the featured female artists for a PBS television documentary called, “Women in the Arts." By 16, she had made her way to Nashville and transitioned into the country music scene. She recorded and released a country album titled, “Something Real Good,” featuring songs she wrote herself and a few co-writes with other songwriters. She later followed that album with a few of her original country singles. Since then, she has focused on honing her vocal ability and songwriting craft, recorded and shared the stage with numerous musicians, groups and artists in country music and other genres, as well as co-written with prominent songwriters such as Larry Cordle, John Pennell, and Tim Stafford to name a few.

Josh Williams is a highly skilled and accomplished musician, born in Murray, Kentucky on November 20, 1980. Raised in Benton, Kentucky, he displayed a remarkable talent for music at a young age, and his passion for it only grew stronger as he got older. After completing his high school education in 1999, he was fully supported by his family to follow his dreams of becoming a professional musician. Without wasting any time, he began playing professionally in Branson, Missouri, just three days after graduation. Over the years, Josh has earned a well-deserved reputation as one of the finest musicians of his generation. He has shared the stage with many renowned artists, including Rhonda Vincent & the Rage, Special Consensus, and Tony Rice. Josh has released a total of five solo albums, all of which have been critically acclaimed. He has also recorded four records with Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, including the Grammy award-winning album 'All the Rage - In Concert Volume 1', which was released in 2018. Josh's remarkable talent and dedication to his craft have been recognized on numerous occasions. He has won the SPBGMA Guitar Player of the Year award an incredible 17 consecutive years, a testament to his unwavering commitment and hard work. He has also been named the IBMA Guitar Player of the Year for three consecutive years, from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, The Josh Williams Band was honored with the IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year award, marking a significant milestone in Josh's illustrious career in the world of bluegrass music. With his exceptional musicianship, Josh Williams has cemented his place as one of the most talented and respected musicians in the industry today. Mike Anglin was born on December 15, 1969, in Richmond, KY, into a family of musicians. He received his first bass guitar at the young age of 8 and with dedication and hard work, he honed his skills and became an in-demand bass player. At the age of 15, he accepted his first touring position, marking the beginning of a successful musical career that has spanned almost four decades.Mike's multi-award-winning career speaks for itself. He received his first award at the age of 25, with David Parmley, Scott Vestal & Continental Divide, for IBMA-1995 Emerging Artist of the Year. He has played with some of the most prominent acts in the bluegrass and country genres, such as Bill Monroe, Tony Rice, and the Del McCoury Band.Mike is known for his dynamic bass playing skills, near-perfect timing, and intense feel. He purchased his preferred instrument, a Hayes custom electric bass, in the mid-90s, which he affectionately named "Big Ugly." He is also an accomplished upright bass player and uses both instruments for studio and session work. History and heritage naturally go hand in hand, and the desire to preserve the former is generally maintained by preserving the latter. Singer, songwriter and musician Marty Falle knows that all too well. His connection to the traditional music of Appalachia was spawned from spending much of his time after graduating from college living in Kentucky, the place where bluegrass was born. Now living on a farm in Eastern Kentucky, he’s thoroughly absorbed the music, culture and influences of that storied region, and in the process, made them his own.Falle’s producer, Grammy winner Jonathan Yudkin, sums it up succinctly. “Marty seeks stories, history, legends, and paths in creativity… His fresh sound comes from the fact that he is not trying to emulate bluegrass bands of the past or present. Instead, he is creating his songs out of his love of music, unfettered by the influence of other artists. That’s what I enjoy the most about working with him. His songs are always unpredictable and surprising…”That, then, is the essence of an artist who’s not only impacted by history and heritage, but one who effectively moves those foundations forward as well. Lizzy Long - Fiddle, Banjo, Guitar, resonator banjo, vocals Having roots in the heart of the south, Elizabeth Long, or Lizzy as her friends and fans know her was born on a farm in Lincolnton, Georgia. She began her music accomplishment at an early age. While starting out on the piano, Lizzy soon took up the fiddle, guitar, autoharp, bass, banjo, and mandolin, and has become an accomplished musician, alternating between these instruments as part of her entertainment repertoire. She has played with great acts such as Mac Wiseman, Jim and Jesse, The Lewis Family, and Earl Scruggs. Continuing her quest for success, Lizzy has paired up with Little Roy Lewis from the legendary Lewis Family. Her extraordinary voice shimmers with strains of America’s musical roots. Lizzy has won “Bluegrass Song of the Year” for a several songs called “Mountain Top”, a duet with Ty Herndon called “When We Fly”, and "He Washed My Soul". Most recently at the 2015 GMA Dove awards she was awarded Best Bluegrass Song of the Year for a Duet with Rhonda Vincent called "God is There". She is one of the youngest fiddlers to be inducted into “America’s Old Time Fiddler’s Country Hall of Fame” in LeMars, IA. Her latest solo Album "Blueberry Pie" has ranked as high as #2 on Billboard's Bluegrass Charts. Little Roy summed it up the best, "pull a plank off the wall and she'll play it!" Little Roy is awfully hard to overlook. He makes sure that no one in the audience gets bored at any time. Little Roy has won awards as Entertainer as well as for his banjo playing. Little Roy learned to play banjo when he was only six years old and won a local talent contest for his playing when he was eight. Little Roy's favorite banjo players are Don Reno and Earl Scruggs. USA Today called Little Roy 'a banjo master, truly a picker's picker'. Little Roy can also be found playing the guitar and autoharp. In fact, the song 'Good Time Get-Together' was written to highlight his instrumental skills. Little Roy is multi-talented - he sings, plays many instruments, tells stories, and acts. He has been inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, SPGBMA Hall of Greats, IBMA Hall of Honor, and the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
