298: Living In Michigan's "Sweet Spot" - Here's what you get!
2026/09/22
There’s a part of Southeast Michigan sitting between Fenton, Holly, Clarkston, Highland, White Lake and Milford that most people relocating here never think to search. In this video, I’m breaking down Rose Township, Springfield Township and Tyrone Township, three rural and semi rural communities spanning Oakland and Livingston Counties that offer acreage, lakes, privacy and access to several popular Southeast Michigan downtowns. We’ll cover:• Where Rose, Springfield and Tyrone Townships are located• What homes are actually selling for• Acreage, lakefront homes and rural properties• Property taxes and how school district boundaries can affect them• Access to Fenton, Holly, Clarkston, Milford, Highland and White Lake• Rose Oaks County Park, Indian Springs Metropark and Springfield Oaks County Park• Commute and expressway tradeoffs• What buyers should know before moving to this part of MichiganThis area can be a great fit for buyers who want more space, privacy, mature trees, lakes or room for a pole barn without being completely disconnected from Metro Detroit. It is not necessarily the best fit if you want a walkable downtown right outside your front door, but if acreage and quiet matter more than being five minutes from everything, this overlooked middle ground deserves a serious look.📘 Download my FREE 74 page Michigan Relocation Guide: https://livinginmichigan.com/#buyer-guideCONTACT ME 👇📱Call or Text: 810-360-3488 📨Email: [email protected]🌐 www.LivingInMichigan.com📅Schedule a Phone Consultation: → https://livinginmichigan.com/contact/📘 Michigan Relocation Guide: → https://conta.cc/3Def6udSUBSCRIBE ⬇️→YouTube Channel: https://bit.ly/2LoYJV3→Weekly Newsletter: https://shorturl.at/4u0VAOTHER GREAT VIDEO PLAYLISTS 📽→Places To Live In Michigan: https://bit.ly/3QcV3lT→Michigan Information: https://bit.ly/3mJ8a0z→Things To Do In Michigan: https://bit.ly/3xp7Fhc→Living In Michigan Tours: https://bit.ly/3aUkw36→Michigan For Sale: https://bit.ly/3NMO5T2→Real Estate News & Information: https://bit.ly/3mIZUxvFOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA 📲 →Instagram: https://instagram.com/andrew.mcmanamon→Facebook: https://facebook.com/andrewmcmanamonr...→Twitter: https://twitter.com/andrewmcmanamon→LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/andrew-mcmanamon→DIY Home Inspiration: https://instagram.com/diyhometransfor...LISTEN TO MY PODCAST 🎙️→Real Estate In The Mitten: https://shorturl.at/9u0oX#LivingInMichigan #MovingToMichigan #southeastmichigan -----------------------------Andrew McManamon is a licensed Real Estate Professional with Signature Sotheby's International Realty. 297: The MOST ANNOYING Things About Living In Michigan | Living in Michigan
2026/09/15
Living in Michigan has a lot to love, but there are also some seriously annoying things nobody seems to warn you about before moving here. In this video, I’m breaking down some of the things I hate about living in Michigan and Metro Detroit—from Michigan roads, construction and driving to small-town quirks, weather, local development and other everyday frustrations you don’t always hear about in relocation videos. If you’re considering moving to Michigan, Metro Detroit, Southeast Michigan, or relocating to suburbs around Detroit, this is the other side of Michigan living you should know before making the move. As a Michigan Realtor who lives and works throughout Metro Detroit, I’ll give you a local perspective on what it’s actually like to live here—the good, the bad, and the stuff that just makes you ask, “BUT WHY?!”🏡 Moving to Michigan? This part of northern Macomb County has been growing quickly, with new construction, upscale subdivisions, larger lots, orchards, parks, and access to some of Metro Detroit’s most popular amenities. 2026/09/01
There’s a part of Southeast Michigan that almost nobody talks about, even though it sits right between some of the most desirable and recognizable places in the region. In this video, I’m breaking down the hidden central pocket between Brighton, Ann Arbor, Plymouth, Novi, Northville, South Lyon, Green Oak Township, Salem Township, Northfield Township and the surrounding areas, and why it can make so much sense for people relocating to Michigan. This area gives you access to multiple parts of Southeast Michigan without forcing you to choose just one. Depending on where you land, you can be within reach of Ann Arbor, Detroit Metro Airport, Downtown Detroit, I 96, US 23, M 14 and I 275, while still having options ranging from condos and starter homes to newer construction, acreage and multi million dollar estates. In this video, we cover:• Where this hidden center of Southeast Michigan actually is• Why relocators often overlook it• Home prices from the entry level all the way to luxury estates• South Lyon, Green Oak, Lyon Township, Northfield Township and more• Commute times to Ann Arbor, Detroit and the airport• Where you can find more land and breathing room• The tradeoffs of living between several major communities instead of directly inside one• Why this area can be one of the most flexible places to live in Southeast MichiganIf you’re moving to Michigan and you’re comparing Ann Arbor, Plymouth, Novi, Northville, Brighton or the surrounding communities, this is an area worth putting on your radar.📘 Download my FREE 74 page Michigan Relocation Guide:[https://livinginmichigan.com/#buyer-guide]CONTACT ME 👇📱Call or Text: 810-360-3488 📨Email: [email protected]🌐 www.LivingInMichigan.com📅Schedule a Phone Consultation: → https://livinginmichigan.com/contact/📘 Michigan Relocation Guide: → https://conta.cc/3Def6udSUBSCRIBE ⬇️→YouTube Channel: https://bit.ly/2LoYJV3→Weekly Newsletter: https://shorturl.at/4u0VAOTHER GREAT VIDEO PLAYLISTS 📽→Places To Live In Michigan: https://bit.ly/3QcV3lT→Michigan Information: https://bit.ly/3mJ8a0z→Things To Do In Michigan: https://bit.ly/3xp7Fhc→Living In Michigan Tours: https://bit.ly/3aUkw36→Michigan For Sale: https://bit.ly/3NMO5T2→Real Estate News & Information: https://bit.ly/3mIZUxvFOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA 📲 →Instagram: https://instagram.com/andrew.mcmanamon→Facebook: https://facebook.com/andrewmcmanamonr...→Twitter: https://twitter.com/andrewmcmanamon→LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/andrew-mcmanamon→DIY Home Inspiration: https://instagram.com/diyhometransfor...LISTEN TO MY PODCAST 🎙️→Real Estate In The Mitten: https://shorturl.at/9u0oX#southeastmichigan #metrodetroit #livinginmichigan-----------------------------Andrew McManamon is a licensed Real Estate Professional with Signature Sotheby's International Realty. 294: This is What $600K ACTUALLY Gets You In Michigan?! | Living In Michigan
2026/08/25
What does $600,000 actually get you in Metro Detroit? The answer changes dramatically depending on where you buy.In this video, I break down real housing data from more than 800 homes priced between $550,000 and $600,000 across Metro Detroit to show where your money stretches the furthest — and where you’re paying a premium for location, lifestyle, walkability, schools, and amenities instead of square footage. In some communities, around $600K may get you roughly 1,300 to 1,800 square feet. In others, the exact same budget can get you closer to 2,600, 2,800, or even 3,000 square feet. But this isn’t just about finding the biggest house for the cheapest price.I also looked at how quickly homes are selling, local demand, location, access, amenities, and the lifestyle each area offers, because a great house in the wrong location can still be the wrong move.📘 Download my FREE 74-page Michigan Relocation Guide: https://livinginmichigan.com/#buyer-guideCONTACT ME 👇📱Call or Text: 810-360-3488 📨Email: [email protected]🌐 www.LivingInMichigan.com📅Schedule a Phone Consultation: → https://livinginmichigan.com/contact/📘 Michigan Relocation Guide: → https://conta.cc/3Def6udSUBSCRIBE ⬇️→YouTube Channel: https://bit.ly/2LoYJV3→Weekly Newsletter: https://shorturl.at/4u0VAOTHER GREAT VIDEO PLAYLISTS 📽→Places To Live In Michigan: https://bit.ly/3QcV3lT→Michigan Information: https://bit.ly/3mJ8a0z→Things To Do In Michigan: https://bit.ly/3xp7Fhc→Living In Michigan Tours: https://bit.ly/3aUkw36→Michigan For Sale: https://bit.ly/3NMO5T2→Real Estate News & Information: https://bit.ly/3mIZUxvFOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA 📲 →Instagram: https://instagram.com/andrew.mcmanamon→Facebook: https://facebook.com/andrewmcmanamonr...→Twitter: https://twitter.com/andrewmcmanamon→LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/andrew-mcmanamon→DIY Home Inspiration: https://instagram.com/diyhometransfor...LISTEN TO MY PODCAST 🎙️→Real Estate In The Mitten: https://shorturl.at/9u0oX#metrodetroitrealestate #livinginmichigan #michiganhomeprices-----------------------------Andrew McManamon is a licensed Real Estate Professional with Signature Sotheby's International Realty. 293: (REWIND) Buying A Home In Michigan SIGHT UNSEEN! | Things To Consider When Buying A Home Without Seeing It In Michigan
2026/08/18
Buying A Home In Michigan SIGHT UNSEEN! - So let me guess, you’re someone that lives out of state and you want to make the move to Michigan and buying a home sight unseen is something you can’t seem to justify in this fast moving housing market. Well, you’re not alone. Stick around as I break down the reality of today’s housing market as someone who is in the thick of it every single day. To buy a home sight unseen, or to not, it’s the burning question that has homebuyers across the nation ripping their hair out. And understandably so, it’s just full blown stressful, and as a Michigan Realtor with a lot of experience in this with most of my clients coming from out of state, I've seen it change life plans, hurt marriages, and have people walk away from their dreams. I hurt for you, I hate to see it, but the question that often comes up is how do we make this work? How can we maneuver through such a difficult housing market, and what should the expectations be for the Realtor in the state we want to go to? I’m going to touch on all those questions and more! 292: (REWIND) Buying A Home In Michigan For The FIRST TIME! | Understanding The Michigan Homebuying Process

Buying A Home In Michigan For The FIRST TIME! - Did you know that nearly 1 in 5 people don’t actually know the homebuying process? Well, now you do, and since I’m sure that ratio surprised you like it did me, I’m going to talk about the homebuying process in Michigan right now.As many of you may know, I help people relocate in and out of the great state of Michigan, and I’ve noticed a pretty consistent question with every single person I have helped over the years, whether they are buying their first home, second home or even their forever home, they ask, “sooo how does this process work?” So I figured I would take some time and go step by step with my process and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out. I'm happy to be a go-to resource. If you’re someone relocating here, there’s of course the need to know how the markets doing, maybe buying a home sight unseen, figuring out your Michigan lifestyle or even just getting a sense of all the areas out there to live, and if that’s the case I have linked several of those videos below because that’s exactly the type of videos I put out on a weekly basis, this one in particular will be more loosely geared toward, “what the heck am I supposed to do?” Great question.FREE GIFT ⬇️→FREE E-Book "How To Buy A Home: The Complete Guide": https://conta.cc/3JBKzc8MENTIONED VIDEOS ⬇️→Buying A Home Sight Unseen:    • Buying A Home In Michigan WITHOUT SEE...  →5 Strategies To Get Your Offer Accepted:    • The ONLY Way To Get A Home In Michigan  →This Is The Michigan Housing Market:    • THIS Is The Michigan Housing Market!  →Finding Your Michigan Lifestyle:    • DON'T Move To Michigan Until You Watc...  →Michigan Tax Assessor Video:    • You NEED To Know This About Michigan ...   Andrew McManamon is a licensed real estate professional in the great state of Michigan. 291: THIS is Why Prices Haven’t Crashed Yet In Michigan! | Living In Michigan
2026/08/04
Why haven’t Michigan home prices crashed yet? In this video, I compare today’s Michigan housing market with the 2008 housing crash and reveal the hidden number affecting many home sales: seller concessions. Using Metro Detroit MLS data, we’ll look at what caused home prices to collapse during the Great Recession, why today’s inventory and lending conditions are dramatically different, and how sellers are quietly adjusting without always reducing the recorded sale price. According to the national Redfin data discussed in this video, nearly half of recent home sellers provided buyers with some form of concession. That may include money toward closing costs, mortgage-rate buydowns, repairs or other credits. These incentives typically do not appear in the publicly reported sale price, which means the number you see online may not tell the entire story.📘 Download the FREE 74-page Living in Michigan Relocation Guide:https://livinginmichigan.com/#buyer-guide CONTACT ME 👇📱Call or Text: 810-360-3488 📨Email: [email protected]🌐 www.LivingInMichigan.com📅Schedule a Phone Consultation: → https://livinginmichigan.com/contact/📘 Michigan Relocation Guide: → https://conta.cc/3Def6udSUBSCRIBE ⬇️→YouTube Channel: https://bit.ly/2LoYJV3→Weekly Newsletter: https://shorturl.at/4u0VAOTHER GREAT VIDEO PLAYLISTS 📽→Places To Live In Michigan: https://bit.ly/3QcV3lT→Michigan Information: https://bit.ly/3mJ8a0z→Things To Do In Michigan: https://bit.ly/3xp7Fhc→Living In Michigan Tours: https://bit.ly/3aUkw36→Michigan For Sale: https://bit.ly/3NMO5T2→Real Estate News & Information: https://bit.ly/3mIZUxvFOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA 📲 →Instagram: https://instagram.com/andrew.mcmanamon→Facebook: https://facebook.com/andrewmcmanamonr...→Twitter: https://twitter.com/andrewmcmanamon→LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/andrew-mcmanamon→DIY Home Inspiration: https://instagram.com/diyhometransfor...LISTEN TO MY PODCAST 🎙️→Real Estate In The Mitten: https://shorturl.at/9u0oX#livinginmichigan #metrodetroit #southeastmichigan -----------------------------Andrew McManamon is a licensed Real Estate Professional with Signature Sotheby's International Realty. 290: Is Now a Good Time to Move to Metro Detroit? | Living In Michigan
2026/07/28
Is now a good time to move to Metro Detroit? In this video, I break down the latest Southeast Michigan housing market data using Realcomp MLS numbers through May 2026 and explain what it actually means for buyers, sellers, and relocation clients considering a move to Michigan. Inventory is rising across Metro Detroit, buyer leverage is starting to improve, and each county is telling a very different story. Wayne County offers some of the strongest affordability in the region, Oakland County remains one of the most established suburban markets, Macomb County is showing some of the strongest growth, Washtenaw County continues to command a premium around Ann Arbor, and Livingston and St. Clair County offer more space and lifestyle tradeoffs. If you’re relocating to Michigan from another state, this video will help you understand where your money may go further, which counties fit different lifestyles, and why Metro Detroit is not one single housing market. The right move depends on your budget, commute, schools, lifestyle, and long-term goals — not just what shows up first on Zillow. 📘 Get my FREE 74-page Michigan Relocation Guide: https://livinginmichigan.com/#buyer-guideCONTACT ME 👇📱Call or Text: 810-360-3488 📨Email: [email protected]🌐 www.LivingInMichigan.com📅Schedule a Phone Consultation: → https://livinginmichigan.com/contact/📘 Michigan Relocation Guide: → https://conta.cc/3Def6udSUBSCRIBE ⬇️→YouTube Channel: https://bit.ly/2LoYJV3→Weekly Newsletter: https://shorturl.at/4u0VAOTHER GREAT VIDEO PLAYLISTS 📽→Places To Live In Michigan: https://bit.ly/3QcV3lT→Michigan Information: https://bit.ly/3mJ8a0z→Things To Do In Michigan: https://bit.ly/3xp7Fhc→Living In Michigan Tours: https://bit.ly/3aUkw36→Michigan For Sale: https://bit.ly/3NMO5T2→Real Estate News & Information: https://bit.ly/3mIZUxvFOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA 📲 →Instagram: https://instagram.com/andrew.mcmanamon→Facebook: https://facebook.com/andrewmcmanamonr...→Twitter: https://twitter.com/andrewmcmanamon→LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/andrew-mcmanamon→DIY Home Inspiration: https://instagram.com/diyhometransfor...LISTEN TO MY PODCAST 🎙️→Real Estate In The Mitten: https://shorturl.at/9u0oX#movingtomichigan #livinginmichigan #relocatingtomichigan-----------------------------Andrew McManamon is a licensed Real Estate Professional with Signature Sotheby's International Realty. 289: Where Michigan Is Growing (and Where the Price Data Makes No Sense) | Living In Michigan
2026/07/21
Where Michigan Is Growing (and Where the Price Data Makes No Sense) Michigan added about 56,000 people since 2020, but 26 of our 83 counties actually lost population over that same stretch. The fastest growing county in the state? Not Oakland. Not Kent. It is Lake County, a place most lifelong Michiganders could not find on a map. Meanwhile, one of Michigan's biggest cities added a grand total of six residents last year. In this episode, I break down the newest U.S. Census Bureau estimates covering 2020 through 2025 and lay my own MLS price data over the top of them, and the results genuinely surprised me. The fastest growing township in Michigan saw home prices go DOWN. All ten of the fastest shrinking communities in the state, every single one in Wayne County, saw home prices go UP, including one that jumped roughly 40 percent in three years. You will hear: Why Kent County and Grand Rapids are leading Michigan in raw population growth, and what that means for buyers competing there. Why northern Michigan is growing at more than double the state's rate while the Traverse City region faces a shortage of roughly 30,000 housing units by 2027. Why Lyon Township, the fastest growing community in the entire state, saw its median price dip while Inkster, the fastest shrinking, posted the strongest price growth in this whole episode. The three variables you have to read together (population, supply, and price tier) before you trust any headline about the Michigan housing market. Plus a real story about a relocating family who almost let a "top ten places to live" list steer them away from exactly what they wanted. Whether you are relocating to Michigan from out of state, moving within Southeast Michigan, or just trying to make sense of conflicting housing headlines, this episode gives you the full picture instead of half the board. Grab my free 74-page Michigan Relocation Guide below. It breaks all of this down county by county, including cost of living, taxes, and communities across the state.
