Description
IEE is the hit comedy panel show podcast from award-losing comedian Sam Wilkinson. Each episode guarantees a wealth of British comedy talent handing out at least one fact, one lesson and mulitple moments of hilarity. It’s ideal for fans, and detractors, of the BBC in general and Radio 4 in particular. Imagine if Radio 4 commissioned any old nonsense and didn’t mind about the swears and you’re on the right track. Or NPR if you're American, I suppose.

Episode 4.2 - Cool Young Pop Music DJ
2024/02/05
IEE has always been at the cutting edge of cool music and cool people. That's why this month we've invited the three coolest comedians who were available on a Monday night to come apply for the role of Cool Young Pop Music DJ!
This month's cast are: EMMA CROSSLAND, SAUL HENRY and MAXINE WADE!
Find them all on the socials and that. Or in Maxine's case, on BBC New Comedian of the Year 2023 on BBC iPlayer!
WARNING: Continues to contain The Swears
Episode 4.1 - Christmas Special 2023
2023/12/22
IEE is back for series 4!
We begin with a Christmas special to wrap up a very IEE-light year. Emma Crossland, Helen Swallow and Becky Heaviside compete to give this year's regal speech over dinner and ruin everyone's day.
WARNING: Continues to contain The Swears
HELEN SWALLOW is a primary school teacher who dabbles in the medium of stand up comedy from time to time. She once ran a comedy night in the before times and will destroy everything you thought you knew about nursery rhymes. Her favourite things are hobnobs, box sets and laughing so hard that occasionally a little wee comes out. She doesn't have an internet presence but she is dead funny like.
EMMA CROSSLAND is a stand up comedian and sit down everything else. Enthusiasm enthusiast, arachnophobe and employee of the month June 2019. Find her on Twitter @CaptainTwitchy, probably in other places too.
BECKY HEAVISIDE is an absolute champ and long-term IEE veteran. She's a Leeds-based comedian, promoter and all-around good egg and can be found on Instagram @BeckyHeaviside. She runs comedy nights and such in Leeds, they're pretty good.

Episode 3.8 - A Man
2022/12/14
November 19th is International Men's Day!
And if this podcast had come out on time it would have been perfectly timed to mark this occasion with IEE's first and last ever ALL-MALE lineup.
IEE is in need of a man. A manly man! A manly man's man! Sadly, all we could find were Silky, Chris Booker and Saul Henry instead. But who got too giddy and needed editing out? Who adopted the role of a character we were all uncomfortable to share a room with? And who has no respect whatsoever for the idea of editing?
All of them.
SILKY is a comedian, singer, songwriter, spy and a fantastic teacher of comedy and guitar too. Find him at https://silkythecomedian.com/ or @paulsilkywhite on Twitter.
CHRIS BOOKER continues to be the worst. He has a website at https://www.chrisbooker.co.uk/ which you can use to send him irritating contact emails. In fact, if you do and send me a screengrab, I'll set you up with some merch.
SAUL HENRY first rose to prominence as a child, when his entry in a balloon race traversed the North Sea from Sunderland to the Netherlands. For this remarkable achievement he was rewarded with a weekend in Doncaster. Once described as looking like an atomic banana, he is usually seen dressed like an absolute bloody idiot on stage. He has a website at home-taping,com

Episode 3.7 - Science Correspondent
2022/10/03
IEE is completely science-ignorant, and only one of the three finest minds of our generation will be able to fix that. Emma Crossland, Alex Beighton and John Morris between them have more degrees, test tubes and weird powders in jars than you can shake a stick at.
But whose father is heavily involved in the sea? Who manages to swing a very dubious definition of sandwich? And who was accidentally given a really rough deal in their play title, leading to this episode having a gentle, but real, content warning? (Sorry)
EMMA CROSSLAND is a stand up comedian and sit down everything else. Enthusiasm enthusiast, arachnophobe and employee of the month June 2019. Find her on Twitter @CaptainTwitchy, probably in other places too.
ALEX BEIGHTON was birthed out of the Soho Theatre Stand Up Comedy Labs kicking, screaming and covered in amniotic fluid. Published in Coroney Baloney, t'ART Online and a writer on CNT Productions' 'The Sex Scene', Alex is also regularly gay and gross in front of willing audiences across the UK.

IF you've read this far you're probably a proper fan, in which case you should buy a ticket for The Comedy Firm of Crossland and Wilkinson. Go to crosslandandwilkinson.com as soon as I've finished building the website.
Episode 3.6 - IT Helpdesk Agent
2022/09/05
Oh no! Jingletron has broken down! Is there a comedian out there who's capable of taking on the toughest job interview on the internet to provide IT helpdesk support? Surely one of Annabelle Devey, Becky Heaviside or Adam Tumber has what it takes!
But whose only reference to their assigned homework is a spoof in the Simpsons? Who does a surprisingly good 1930s gangster reference? And who wrote a lot of questions for round three that just made everyone sad? Sam, it was Sam.
WARNING: Contains The Swears
ANNABELLE DEVEY "is certainly a very promising act, and definitely one to watch in the next few years. She’s at times rude, at times very down to earth, but her set is one that will keep you laughing the whole way through" - Mancunian
BECKY HEAVISIDE is an absolute champ and long-term IEE veteran. She's a Leeds-based comedian, promoter and all-around good egg and can be found on Instagram @BeckyHeaviside. She runs comedy nights and such in Leeds, they're pretty good.
ADAM TUMBER is a comedian, MC, quiz show veteran and the man behind Gabriel Jones, corporate Angel. He's on Twitter @AdamTComedy.

Episode 3.5 - Soap Opera Writer
2022/08/01
It's time to turn our attention to the long-form drama, and three of the best writers in the biz are queueing up for jobs in IEE's writers room in the form of Emma Crossland, Laura Ollerton and Gabby Hutchinson Crouch!
But who isn't a soap opera person at all? Who has seen a lot more Stephen Sondheim musicals than Sam? And who will make for the fanciest grandma?
WARNING: Contains The Swears
GABBY HUTCHINSON CROUCH is a regular writer on Radio 4′s THE NEWS QUIZ and THE NOW SHOW. Her first novel, DARKWOOD, was published in 2019 by Farrago Books, with the second in the series, SUCH BIG TEETH, following the year after, and the third in the series, GLASS COFFIN, published in 2021. Her latest book is WISH YOU WEREN'T HERE, which I, Sam, really recommend if you've ever lived by the British seaside. Find her on Twitter @Scriblit
EMMA CROSSLAND is a stand up comedian and sit down everything else. Enthusiasm enthusiast, arachnophobe and employee of the month June 2019. Find her on Twitter @CaptainTwitchy, probably in other places too.
LAURA OLLERTON is a Bath-based comedian (but prefers showers), wordsmith lover and clown-horn impersonator. I don't think she has any Facebook pages or Twitter presence or that stuff but I'm prepared to be corrected.

Episode 3.4 - Children's TV Presenter
2022/07/04
IEE's youth programming has long been neglected, which is why Becky Heaviside, Kerry Robinson and Jack Vincent have been invited to interview for the role of children's TV presenter. With an average of 2/3rds of a child between them, surely one of these three is suited to fostering the next generation's keen young minds?
But who is absolutely correct about the worst Playbus stop? Who is determined to rudeify their child-friendly play title? And what will Jingletron's interruption be this month?
WARNING: Contains The Swears
BECKY HEAVISIDE is an absolute champ and long-term IEE veteran. She's a Leeds-based comedian, promoter and all-around good egg and can be found on Instagram @BeckyHeaviside. She runs comedy nights and such in Leeds, they're pretty good.
KERRY ROBINSON is the poor man's Jo Brand. Find her on all the socials under the handle @Kegster12002.
JACK VINCENT has a bio but I can't remember what it is. He runs a great series of comedy clubs though - search Jack O'Clubs Comedy or find @iamjackv on all the socials.

Episode 3.3 - Accountant
2022/06/06
Summer is here, and so too are boring things like taxes, spreadsheets and moving large numbers from one column to another. IEE's three prospective accountants are Becky Heaviside, Jake Donaldson and Saul Henry.
But who will reveal a shocking personal truth about how they perceive numbers? Who wrote a very confusing play about shellfish? And who can make a question about bedsheets last a full ten minutes?
WARNING: Contains The Swears

JAKE DONALDSON is an anecdotal comedian based in Newcastle. He is also a painter and the host of RedShirtsCast, a Star Trek podcast where they apparently don't talk about Star Trek all that much.

Episode 3.2 - Non-Copyright Generic European Singing Contest Presenter
2022/05/02
It's nearly time for the greatest event of the televisual year, and to celebrate this month IEE is searching for its very own Non-Copyright Generic European Singing Contest Presenter. Adam Tumber, Alex Beighton and Chris Booker are all in the running to be the sparkliest, campiest presenter in town.
But who will try everyone's patience with their repeated references to things that happened outside of this episode? Who will politely suffer through it all even though it's very excluding to them? And who doesn't like Eurovision because they're "a fan of music"?
Don't worry, that last one isn't any of the cast.
WARNING: Contains The Swears

ADAM TUMBER is a comedian, MC, quiz show veteran and the man behind Gabriel Jones, corporate Angel. He's on Twitter @AdamTComedy.
CHRIS BOOKER is an irritating demon in the body of a child-man. His raison d'etre is to ruin podcasts. He has a website at https://www.chrisbooker.co.uk/ which you can use to send him irritating contact emails. In fact, if you do and send me a screengrab, I'll set you up with some merch.

Episode 3.1 - Receptionist
2022/04/04
IEE returns for another rip-roaring series of the silliest smart podcast to grace the internetwaves.
Emma Crossland, Kerry Robinson and Silky all return to make a bid for the top reception job at the corporation. But who has the best bin day? Who is determined to commit dangerously actionable slander on someone else's podcast? And who's really up for some Sumerian singing, as long as it's not them doing it? Hit play and find out!
WARNING: Contains The Swears.

Episode 2.8 - Christmas Special 2021
2021/12/20
And so this is Christmas.
Inform Educate Entertain welcomes you to the festive season with the most self-indulgent series finale since that bloke came out of the shower and declared it was all a dream.
Emma Crossland, Becky Heaviside and Helen Swallow pay a special in-person visit to IEE Towers to spread joy and love around the world and compete to plan the company Christmas party. But who has written Sam the cruelest part in their Christmas play? Who has no respect for the institution of Quality Street? And who is going to be in real trouble with their mum after this episode comes out?
Emma. The answer to all of them is Emma.
WARNING: contains The Swears and Adult Themes. Really, I mean it this time. Don't listen with your kids.
HELEN SWALLOW is a primary school teacher who dabbles in the medium of stand up comedy from time to time. She once ran a comedy night in the before times and will destroy everything you thought you knew about nursery rhymes. Episode 2.7 - Continuity Announcer
2021/12/13
There's a real end-of-term vibe as IEE races towards the series two finale. But before the final show, three well-spoken comedians hold a showdown to see who will make the finest continuity announcer. But which of them does an incredible valley girl accent? Whose kitchen is on full display during the Zoom call and attracting attention? And who will wrest control of the podcast using an audatious technique I hope nobody else ever tries?
WARNING: Contains the Swears, and a bit of unduly dark humour, if you ask me.
JACK SHANIK is a doer of oneliners and sundry nonsense who for the purposes of this programme has agreed to undo his tight formal corset and use other forms of speech. The prat.
LAURA OLLERTON is a Bath-based comedian (but prefers showers), wordsmith lover and clown-horn impersonator. One time winner of IEE, one time loser, hoping to go away with at least a speed boat today. I don't think she has any Facebook pages or Twitter presence or that stuff but I'm prepared to be corrected.
TERRY KING likes long walks on the beach, stargazing by candlelight, and making his introduction sound a lot like his last dating profile. The self described "cynical Brit with comedic wit", you can find his YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2fiCBo3fPAiynZowkI2MbA, or just generally search around the place for Jackqueensin.
