On this the penultimate episode of season 2 of FIM, my friend and sis Taylor Barnett, who I met at the Illustrious National Treasure (IYKYK), join the pod to speak with us about her journey and experiences in ministry. Barnett who is a PK along with her sister Tiana grew apostolic in Boston before moving to Baltimore. Taylor spoke about all things growing up A PK, having a dad who played briefly in the NFL and having role model parents overall. Taylor shared the interesting story how God being faithful in providing her a job she wasn’t even trying to apply for. A member of the AKA sorority she explains where her passion came from and how her matriculation went. She helped to bring a more social media presence to her dads church and as such she spoke to the importance of churches embracing the social and technological aspect of ministry. On this episode of FIM, I speak to my friend and brother Pastor Jason Vanderburg. Jason is a staff pastor at Greater Shiloh church in the Easton PA, under the tutelage of Pastor Philip Davis. He talks about how he grew up in NY and how he transition to PA. Pastor J got saved at 16 and was employed to the church right before he graduated high school. He’s the owner and proprietor of Valley Transport Mortuary Service, he told us stories on how the desire to start this business came along. On this episode of FIM, professional supporting vocalist in the the Jamaican gospel space Jucal joins the pod to tell us about his journey and experience in ministry. Jucal who currently serves in the capacity as praise and worship leader at miracle open bible from "him eye deh a him knee". He spoke to the importance of setting the atmosphere as a worship leader and how important it is for worship leaders to operate with "flow". A professional supporting vocalist to the likes of Petra-Kaye, Alicia Taylor, Rondel Positive etc., he explains how he landed the opportunities of these gigs and the importance of honing your craft and being ready for when the opportunity comes. Jucal who is also apart of the perpetual sounds of praise tell us about the surreal moment Nadine Blair approached him and is excitement about being apart of such a medium. Jucal who was apart of a choir from the age of 4 that his mom directed for almost 20 years, expound on those experiences. In the 11th episode of the FIM podcast, my friend and bro Raymond Thomas joins the pod to discus his journey and experiences as a musician and in ministry overall. Thomas a recent grad of the Caribbean Maritime University, speak of his happiness overcoming undergrad studies. Raymond who was also assistant mens president at his church UPC Sharper Lane, spoke of his experiences he shared in the capacity. We discussed the stereotypes of musicians in todays church and whether they’re warranted or not. He also gives his advises to young up and coming musicians in the church. The 10th episode of season 2 of FIM, returned after a long break. My friend and brother David Johnson joined the pod to share with us his experiences and journey in ministry. Johnson a recently ordained pastor, worships at Love and Faith Outreach Intl Ministries, he’s also an active member of “Vision of Genesis 39” which he explains in this episode how he became apart of movement and what it’s all about. David, a father of six kids, spoke about managing fatherhood and ministry and marriage. While managing all of this, Johnson recently graduated from The University of Technology with a bachelors degree in business and computer studies. David tells us the importance of having the right supportive partner in his wife Camilla that helped him stay on top of his studies amidst everything else he had to balance. He and his wife are apart of the dynamic duo “The Johnson’s Ministry” which performs at different functions such as weddings etc. this was a great interview that you will enjoy. God bless you!!

On the 9th episode of season 2 of the FIM podcast, friend and sister Ariel stops by the pod to speak about her journey in ministry. Ariel who is currently teaching English in Japan for the past two years, discusses with us how she got acclimated to the new culture. Being a PK (pastor’s kid) she’s explains what it’s like growing up in church and how it helped to shaped who she is today and how it influenced her musical explorations. Ariel plays the drums and saxophone and is currently learning the bass guitar. She gives her advice to other young people who are in ministry and encourage those who are on the cusp of ministry. On this episode of FIM, the infamous David Daughtry joins the pod to speak about his experiences and journey in ministry. Daughtry is the worship leader at the renown West Angeles COGIC, he’s also a recording artiste and as appeared in several movies. David spoke to us on how he started out with music and learning to sing and play from his mom. He told the story on how initially he didn’t wanted to lead worship and just wanted to be a soloist, however Dr Judith McAllister encouraged him to lead the praise team at West Angeles to which he initially decline but however came around to it and is one of the best worship leaders in gospel today. David continuously expressed that “your gift will make room for you” and is the sole reason why he has accomplished most of what he has. He explained the experience of signing with Karew Records and doing his first solo album. David shared two of his testimonies of how the lord either saved him or restored him and the impact and influence it has on him leading worship and being able to minister to people because of his experiences. Daughtry shared what the experiences was like being on set of some of the movies he’s been in and how he landed on them. Carlito speaks to us about what it was like growing up in Bermuda and how he dealt with adjusting to life in the states after his migration. Being the events announcer at our church Thompson explains how he’s got use to this level of public speaking as someone who often claims to be shy. Owner and Proprietor of “Carlitophotography”, he explains how he developed the passion for photography and shares how to find him on socials. We were appointed as ministers as the same time, he tells of his acclimation and how he’s dealing with the new title and capacity. A young people extraordinaire, Ariel is a visionary that is big on the restoration and development of the youth. We spoke about how that passion for the youth developed. An early childhood educator Pastor Henry expresses what it is like impacting young impressionable minds. Being apart of the sound team at his church, Faith Apostolic Church in Alabama, he explains his role and the importance of having a balance sound in a church audio visual system. He spoke about the importance of persons being in the right environment, especially after finding himself in some trouble in college, those experiences propelled him to start his brand and be a motivational speaker to help other people who may find themselves in similar environments. On this Installment, long time friend and brother, Andrean Williams stops by the pod to speak about his journey in ministry. Williams who’s a teacher by profession is also head of the technical team at Faith Temple Pentecostal Assemblies Old Harbour in charge of sound and audio visuals. He expresses the importance of churches being ahead of the curve in virtual technology as most churches throughout the pandemic had to resort only to online services. He talks about his experiences teaching students and children of today and how as a Christian the struggle he faces to take on each day as well as the respect he receives from most of his students both past and present.
