BOND | A Bond Is Not a Debt
2026/10/25
Who would you call when things aren’t right, or when it’s time to celebrate? Now the harder question: do you feel like you owe them?
This week the word is BOND, and I think most of us have been carrying the wrong definition. There is a version that keeps score and a version that keeps you alive. Only one of them deserves the name.
Bring your people to this one. How do you divine bond?

SURRENDER | Letting Go Is Not Giving Up
2026/10/18
You've been told surrender means you lost. That you stopped trying. That you couldn't take it.
But look at what you're gripping right now. The outcome you planned for. The result you did everything right to earn. The thing that was never yours to hold in the first place. What is that grip costing you?
This episode asks what you'd get back if you let go.
Stay for the Divine Assignment. You already know what it's going to ask.

FAILURE | Stumbling in the Right Direction
2026/10/11
“Some of my biggest career failures was just me succeeding in the wrong direction.”
Most of us treat failure like a verdict. A final word on who we are. But the oldest meaning of the word is much smaller than the one you were handed, and once you hear it, you can’t unhear it.
This week’s word is FAILURE. Career. Friendship. Parenthood. Love. Sanika has stumbled in all four. This is what she kept.
Press play. Then ask yourself which one you’re still carrying.

WUK | Stick Ah Pin® II. Technology and Labour
2026/10/04
You work every day. Do you know what that word is actually asking of you?
Think about the favor you half did. The way you show up when nobody is watching. The hours you handed your phone today. All of it is work. All of it is spending something.
This Stick Ah Pin® turns one word over three times. One answer is older than you think. Another might change what you spend tomorrow.

CURATE: Building a Life By Design, Not Default
2026/09/27
As life progresses daily, some things fall into place, others we add as markers of success. Then there are the things that squeeze in there. Let's say it comes with the highs and lows of existing.
Jeff Marshall, JD has built a life in more than one room. The courtroom he trained for. The media world he made his name in. The classroom. The stage. The boardroom. All while being impactful beyond the spreadsheet. All while holding down the house where he is a husband and a father before he is any of those titles. Every one of those rooms had to earn its place, and some of what he was carrying did not.
This conversation is about the choosing. What stays, what goes, and who you become when you stop keeping everything just because it was handed to you.

DISCIPLINE :The Bridge Between Lives
2026/09/20
You were taught discipline as punishment. Somebody with authority handed you that definition, and you never checked the receipt.
This episode goes back to where the word actually started, and it is not where you think. Then it gets personal: the one currency I protect above everything, the boundary most people never think to set, and the purchase that got me in the best shape of my life for the wrong reason. Plus the household rule my daughters know by heart.
Discipline is not the hard hand. It is the bridge to the life you are designing. Cross it with me. How do you divine discipline?

WORTHY: You Were Never Not Enough
2026/09/13
Worth is a market word. A price. Somewhere along the way we let it price us. But if there was a price, would we even want to set it?
People are not currency. A human being and the soul we carry cannot be measured that way. It sounds mushy. It is also true. Even if empathy and loving community are not your thing, the fact remains: no human is a price. Not even the worst of us.
This episode sits with the moments you performed your value to a room, why titles measure power and not intelligence, and what it costs to keep your arms out for people who never asked. Were you taught to put a price on something that was never for sale? How do you divine worthy?

UNLEARN: What You Were Taught to Believe
2026/09/06
Learning is how we absorb. It's how we develop skills, figure out the world, find our footing. But when do we give any of it back? When do we drop what no longer serves?
Unlearn is that step. This episode goes through what got installed before Sanika had a say: the family scripts, the migration story she inherited, the range of anger she was allowed to show. None of it was chosen. All of it got carried.
Unlearning is not erasing. It's sorting. Keep the essence. Shake off the dirt. How do you divine unlearn?

SWEET MOUTH: The Gift of the Gab Has Many Names | Stick Ah Pin ®
2026/08/30
Sweet mouth. If you grew up around it, you already know the sound. The voice that could talk you into anything and leave you feeling good about it after.
This is Stick Ah Pin®. Three times a season the main arc stops and we put a stake in the ground on Caribbean language and where it came from.
Sweet mouth was never only charm. It was communication of persuasion or attraction built by people who had very little else to work with. It moved goods. It settled disputes. It held rooms. Every culture has a name for it. This is ours. And somewhere along the way that same skill got studied, packaged, and sold back to us as marketing.
So the question this episode sits with is who benefits when we get sweet mouthed. And by whom.
This week's Divine Assignment: ask the people around you how they would show up if your perception of them wouldn't change. Is there an accent, a cultural norm they would share if your bias were not in the way?
New episode every Sunday.

PIVOT: Your Job Title Is Not Your Skillset
2026/08/23
Most people hear pivot and think something went wrong. Andrea Wade thinks that's backwards.
Today's word is PIVOT. Not as a crisis, not as a retreat. As a design.
Andrea Wade is the founder of The Pivot Lab, where she helps experienced professionals navigate career transitions with confidence. Deloitte. Arthur Andersen. Mattel. Bank of America. Years as an agent at Creative Artists Agency before she built her own. Her path has never been straight, and that is the point.
We get into why a layoff feels like rejection when it usually has nothing to do with you. Why the outside world has no idea what your title means. What Andrea calls career insurance, and why you build it before you need it. Her four-part framework: reflect, research, reframe, relaunch. And the line that stopped the whole conversation, which is that you cannot be creative and dream if you are exhausted.
Andrea leaves you with one thing. Zero in on what you are curious about, and what you are nervous about. Then get closer to both.

DESIGNED: What If You Never Chose Who You Are?
2026/08/16
Most of us never chose the life we're living. We absorbed it.
Season 4 of How Do You Divine? opens with the word DESIGNED. Not designed as in planned, mapped out, rigid. Designed as in responsive. Intention and flexibility at the same time.
In this episode I get honest about my own drift. Season 3 grew. My interviewing got sharper. The systems got better. More stories went out into the world. And somewhere in that growth I lost the heart of the show. Technically better. Soulfully thin. That was the drift.
So we look at how drifting actually happens. Not as a dramatic wrong turn. The slow kind. In work. In motherhood. In the relationships where we stay present physically and quietly moonwalk out emotionally.
This week's Divine Assignment: find one area where you've been drifting. Write it down. Pen to paper, not your phone. Then review it before you design what that version should look like.

2025/10/22
In this Season 3 finale, Sanika answers your questions from social media with zero filter — cancel culture, AI and media, the blurred lines between activism and performance, generational differences in social justice, and everything she held back all season long. Raw, honest, and completely unscripted.

FEEL AH WAY| What Brooklyn streets reveal about Caribbean emotional intelligence
2025/10/15
In this special episode, Sanika introduces Feel Ah Way — a project born on the streets of Brooklyn that captures the raw, unfiltered emotional communication of Caribbean culture across generations. We explore how the way Caribbean people express, process, and navigate feelings is its own language — and why that language deserves to be documented, celebrated, and passed forward.g.

ADAPT| A psychiatrist's guide to moving through trauma, stigma, and life's hardest seasons
2025/10/08
In this episode, psychiatric physician and public health expert Dr. Wole Babatunde shares his migration story, the personal trauma he navigated on the path to becoming a physician in the US, and what decades of psychiatric care taught him about the human capacity to adapt. We break down the stigma around mental health in communities of color, the tools that actually help you move through life's hardest seasons, and why adaptability is not weakness — it is wisdom.
